PAX Wardrobe Assembly Instructions
Overview
This document provides assembly instructions for the IKEA PAX wardrobe system. Please follow each step carefully to ensure correct assembly. The product shown is a single PAX wardrobe element.
Tools Required
- Phillips screwdriver ?
- Flathead screwdriver ?
- Hammer ?
- Spirit level ?
- Drill with 5 mm (1/4") drill bit
Important Safety Notes:
- ⚠️ Do not tilt the unit excessively during assembly.
- ❌ Do not allow children to climb on the furniture.

Assembly Steps
Step 1
Insert 16 dowels (Part Number: 101375) into the pre-drilled holes on the base and top panels.
Step 2
Attach the side panels to the base panel. Insert 16 cam lock screws (Part Number: 118331) into the side panels and secure them into the base panel by turning the cam locks.
Step 3
Attach the second side panel to the base panel using 6 cam lock screws (Part Number: 118331) and corresponding cam locks.
Step 4
Attach the clothes rail support bracket (Part Number: 195701) to the inside of one side panel using 1 bolt (Part Number: 110618).
Step 5
Attach another side panel to the base using 1 bolt (Part Number: 110618) and the corresponding cam lock system.
Step 6
Install the clothes rail (Part Number: 195701) by attaching it to the support bracket using 2 screws (Part Number: 130718).
Step 7
Attach the remaining side panels to the base using 1 bolt (Part Number: 110618) and cam locks for each panel.
Step 8
Secure the base panel to the side panels. Insert 2 nuts/washers (Part Number: 100751) into their respective holes and tap them into place with a hammer ?.
Step 9
Attach the feet (Part Number: 110617, 2x) to the base. Insert 2 screws (Part Number: 110519) and 2 cam locks (Part Number: 110617) and tighten.
Step 10
Attach the internal vertical dividers. Insert 2 bolts (Part Number: 110618) into the base and attach the dividers, securing them with cam locks.
Step 11
Insert 6 dowels (Part Number: 101375) into the pre-drilled holes of the shelf panels.
Step 12
Insert 4 dowels (Part Number: 101375) into the pre-drilled holes of the shelf panels.
Step 13
Attach the shelves. Insert 1 bolt (Part Number: 110618) into the side panels and attach the shelves, securing them with cam locks.
Step 14
Secure the internal structure. Insert 8 cam locks (Part Number: 113434) into the designated holes and turn them ? to lock the components.
Step 15
Attach door hinge mounting plates to the side panels. Use 3 screws (Part Numbers: 119030, 120076) per plate.
Step 16
Attach door hinge mounting plates to the other side panels. Use 3 screws (Part Numbers: 119030, 120076) per plate.
Step 17
Slide the back panel into the grooves on the side and base panels. Ensure it is fully seated and aligned.
Step 18
Attach the top panel. Insert 8 cam locks (Part Number: 113434) into the top panel and secure it to the side panels by turning the cam locks ?.
Step 19
Secure the internal structure further. Insert 8 cam locks (Part Number: 113434) into the designated holes and turn them ? to lock the components.
Step 20
Attach door hinge mounting plates to the remaining side panels. Use 3 screws (Part Numbers: 119030, 120076) per plate.
Step 21
Secure the base frame. Use 2 screws (Part Number: 110519) to reinforce the base structure.
Step 22
Attach drawer runners or guides to the internal panels. Use 16 clips (Part Number: 10093081) and 16 clips (Part Number: 10093082) as shown in the diagram.
Step 23
Position and align the internal components. Ensure all parts are correctly seated and aligned before proceeding to the next steps. This step may require assistance.
Step 24
Wall Anchoring: Secure the wardrobe to the wall using appropriate wall-mounting hardware (not included). Follow the warning symbols ⚠️ and instructions for drilling holes and inserting fasteners. Ensure the unit is stable and safely anchored.
Step 25
Attach decorative caps or covers. Use 2 caps (Part Numbers: 122972, 115345) on the top and 2 caps on the bottom, covering the screw heads.
Step 26
Wall Mounting Preparation: Drill pilot holes for wall anchoring. Use a drill with a 5 mm (1/4") drill bit. Perform 3 drilling actions as indicated on the side panels.
Step 27
Final securing and finishing. Use 3 screws (Part Number: 100644) and 1 screw (Part Number: 100402) for final assembly. An additional screw (1x) and washer/nut (1x) are shown, possibly for attaching accessories or indicating waste disposal ?️.
