Introduction
LampLinc allows you to dim and remotely control any lamp or other plug-in device in your home with the touch of a button. You can send commands to LampLinc from an INSTEON controller or conveniently control other linked INSTEON devices using the buttons on the side of the LampLinc. The Load Sensing feature enables control of linked INSTEON devices by manually turning the device on and off using the switch on the device itself.
The Dual-Band LampLinc also functions as an INSTEON signal repeater and can be used to detect electrical phases in your home (similar to an Access Point, #2443). This device is intended for indoor use only.
Installation
- Plug the load (lamp or other device) you wish to control into the outlet on the bottom of the LampLinc Dimmer.
- Plug the LampLinc Dimmer into an unswitched wall outlet.
The load may turn on.
- If the LED is solid green, installation is complete.
- If the LED is solid red, tap the Up button. The LED should change to solid green, and the load should turn on.
- If the load does not turn on, manually turn it on using the switch on the load itself.
Using LampLinc Dimmer as an INSTEON Responder
- Use the Up and Down buttons to adjust the load to the desired brightness.
- Set your INSTEON controller to linking mode. (For most controllers, press and hold the Set button for 3 seconds or an on/scene button for 10 seconds.) You will have 4 minutes to complete the next step before linking mode automatically times out.
- Press and hold the LampLinc Set button until it double-beeps. The Status LED will flash once, then turn on solid green if the load is on, or solid red if it is off.
- Confirm that linking was successful by tapping the controller button you just linked. The load plugged into LampLinc should respond appropriately.
Using LampLinc Dimmer Buttons
LampLinc's buttons control the load and any additional linked responders. The behavior of LampLinc or the responders will differ based on whether you tap, double-tap, or press and hold the buttons.
