Yamaha Quality Assurance

Your V.N.M. has undergone strict quality control. Yamaha commits to remedying any material or assembly defects free of charge. Consult the dealer where you purchased your V.N.M. or any other authorized European dealer.

Advantages and Conditions of the Yamaha Manufacturer's Commercial Warranty

During the commercial warranty period, the official Yamaha distributor in Europe guarantees the replacement of any V.N.M. part found defective due to material or manufacturing defects, free of charge, provided that:

  1. The V.N.M. bears the original manufacturer's identification marks.
  2. The V.N.M. is maintained according to the Owner's Manual specifications and used according to its instructions.
  3. The part to be replaced is an original equipment part or an original spare part, and repairs/replacements are carried out by an authorized Yamaha dealer in Europe.
  4. Normal precautions have been taken to keep the V.N.M. clean and free from chemical attacks, as per the Owner's Manual cleaning instructions.
  5. The V.N.M. has not been subject to unauthorized modifications, misuse, negligence, or accidents, and has not been used for purposes other than those for which it was designed, nor with fuel and lubricants other than those recommended.
  6. The V.N.M. is inspected before use to ensure it is in safe operating condition. Consult your Owner's Manual.
  7. In case of non-compliance with points 1 to 6, Yamaha reserves the right to cancel the commercial warranty in whole or in part.
  8. This commercial warranty will be interpreted according to the law of the country where the product was purchased, and any disputes will be submitted to the courts of that country.
  9. This commercial warranty does not include the provision of a substitute means of transport during a commercial warranty repair period.

Cases Not Covered by the Yamaha Manufacturer's Commercial Warranty

The Yamaha manufacturer's commercial warranty does not apply in the following cases:

  1. When replacement and/or repair are due to normal wear and tear of the V.N.M.
  2. When corrosion, oxidation, and discoloration are caused by weather, salt, chemicals, or aggressive cleaning products.
  3. When damage is caused by incorrect use for purposes other than those originally designed or intended.
  4. When damage is caused by competitive use or any similar event.
  5. When damage can be attributed to clearly inappropriate use of the Product (refer to the Owner's Manual).
  6. When damage is caused by natural disaster, fire, collision, or accident.
  7. When damage is caused by the installation of parts or accessories other than original ones or those distributed by Yamaha Motor Europe N.V.
  8. When damage is caused by improper maintenance or incorrect configuration.
  9. When damage is caused by improper transport or storage.
  10. When costs concern transport to or from the repair dealer.
  11. When parts are wear parts whose longevity is based on usage and designed to be replaced during normal service life (e.g., impeller, filters, spark plugs, anodes, seals).
  12. Excluded from the 2nd year of warranty: floor mats, stickers, upholstery, bodywork elements, battery.

Customer Responsibility

  1. The customer must ensure correct use and maintenance of the V.N.M. according to the Owner's Manual instructions and recommendations.
  2. Regular maintenance and winterization costs, as well as replacement costs for specific parts, are the customer's responsibility.
  3. The customer is also responsible for failures or damages caused by misuse, negligence, or accidents, as well as indirect and consequential costs resulting from such failures or damages.
  4. In case of suspected defect, the customer must present the V.N.M. to an authorized Yamaha dealer in Europe within ten days of discovering the suspected defect.
  5. Costs for dismantling, reassembly, and/or diagnosis are also the customer's responsibility in the case of a claim that proves to be unfounded under the commercial warranty.

Traveling Abroad

Yamaha's authorized dealer network can assist you when traveling in Europe. Before traveling, it is recommended to have a complete service of your V.N.M., paying particular attention to the propeller, distribution chain, oil, spark plugs, filters, anodes, etc., which may require replacement during your stay abroad. Dealer addresses in Europe can be found on www.yamaha-motor.eu.

How to Request Commercial Warranty Coverage

If you encounter a problem with your V.N.M. that you believe is covered by the commercial warranty, contact your authorized Yamaha dealer in Europe within ten days to arrange an inspection. If a problem arises that you believe may affect the safety of use of the V.N.M., call your dealer for assistance. All commercial warranty claims must be submitted through an authorized Yamaha dealer.

What to Do in Case of Dissatisfaction

If you are not satisfied with your Yamaha V.N.M. or the service provided by authorized dealers, please send your feedback in writing to your authorized Yamaha dealer, with a copy of your letter to the Customer Service of the Yamaha distributor in France. If your request is not resolved to your satisfaction, or if you believe the issue has been handled inappropriately, you may choose to contact a mediator (independent arbitration).

Periodic Maintenance (Annual or Hourly)

V.N.M.s require regular maintenance. Consult your Owner's Manual for details. For intensive use, the frequency of maintenance may need to be increased. Consult your dealer for advice. Authorized Yamaha dealers are trained and experienced. It is highly recommended to have periodic maintenance performed by your Yamaha dealer for safe and long-lasting use of your V.N.M. Failure to perform this maintenance or adhere to its frequency may affect the longevity of your V.N.M. and void the commercial warranty. Keep your maintenance invoices as proof of adherence to maintenance procedures.

Cleaning Your Yamaha

Regular washing is the best way to maintain your Yamaha in good condition. Salt or water residue in the engine cooling system, algae, barnacles, oil, and other foreign bodies can seriously damage your V.N.M. and affect its operation. Consult your Owner's Manual for more detailed information. High-pressure washing is not recommended.

Initial Maintenance

Your Yamaha V.N.M. must be inspected after 6 months of operation (or 10 hours, whichever comes first).
