SmartBox Firmware Update Instructions

Overview

This guide provides essential steps for updating the firmware of your SmartBox device. Ensure your device is properly connected and follow the instructions carefully for a smooth update process.

Prerequisites

• A USB Power Charger or USB data port from your car unit.
• Your iPhone, iPad, or Mac connected to the SmartBox Wi-Fi network.

Update Steps

1. Ensure your car unit's USB power charger and USB data port are available for the online Over-The-Air (OTA) update.
2. Turn on Wi-Fi on your device and connect to the network named 'smartBox-xxxx'. Enter the password '88888888' when prompted.
3. Open Safari on your connected device and navigate to the IP address '192.168.1.101'. Scroll down the page and tap the 'Update' button.
4. Observe the indicator light on the SmartBox. It will flash once the upgrade begins and will turn solid once the update is complete.
5. After the firmware update is finished, forget the 'smartBox-xxxx' network from your device's Wi-Fi settings.
6. Reconnect the SmartBox adapter to your car's data port. The device should now display 'smartBox-xxxx' with the new version.
