Riding Your i-100

FAILURE TO FOLLOW SAFETY PRECAUTIONS MAY LEAD TO DAMAGE TO YOUR i-100, PROPERTY DAMAGE, VOIDED WARRANTY, AND SERIOUS BODILY INJURY OR DEATH.

Familiarize yourself with the operating procedures before use.

Operating Your i-100

Ensure the i-100 is fully charged before initial use. Refer to "CHARGING YOUR i-100" on page 21 for instructions.

Stand directly behind your i-100. Place one foot on the corresponding foot mat, keeping weight on the foot still on the ground. If weight is not balanced, the i-100 may move or vibrate, making it difficult to step on evenly. Shift your weight to the foot already on the i-100 and step on with your second foot quickly and evenly.

? NOTES: Stay relaxed and step on quickly, confidently, and evenly. Imagine climbing stairs, one foot, then the other. Look up once your feet are even. The hoverboard may vibrate or spin if weight and pressure are applied to only one foot mat; this is normal.

Find your center of gravity. If weight is distributed correctly and your center of gravity is level, you should be able to stand as if on the ground. It takes approximately 3-5 minutes to get comfortable standing and maintaining balance. Having a spotter can help.

The i-100 is sensitive to motion. Anxiety or hesitation may cause panic and unwanted movement.

To move in your desired direction, focus on that direction. Thinking about the direction shifts your center of gravity, propelling you forward.

Your center of gravity determines direction and speed. Stand straight up to stop. Tilt your center of gravity in the direction you wish to move.

To turn, focus on the desired direction and stay relaxed. Apply pressure on your right foot to turn right, and on your left foot to turn left.

WARNING: To avoid danger, do not turn sharply or at high speeds. Do not turn or ride quickly along slopes, as it may cause injury.

As you become comfortable, maneuvering becomes easier. At higher speeds, shift your weight when turning to maintain stability.

Bend your knees on bumps or uneven surfaces, then dismount and carry the hoverboard to a safe operating surface.

Diagram illustrating movement control: Left image shows tilting forward for 'Move Forward', middle shows upright for 'Stop', right image shows tilting backward for 'Move Backward'.

Dismounting

? NOTES: Stay relaxed and focus on finding your center of gravity to maintain control.

Dismounting can be easy, but incorrect dismounts can cause falls. To dismount from a stopped position: lift your dominant leg, place your foot on the ground behind you (STEP BACK), then step off with your other foot.

Diagram showing the correct dismount procedure: Step 1: Lift dominant leg and place foot behind the hoverboard. Step 2: Step off with the other foot.

WARNING: Lift your feet completely off the foot mats to clear the hoverboard when stepping back to dismount. Failure to do so may send the hoverboard into a tailspin.

Speed and Weight Limitations

Speed and weight limits are set for your safety. Please abide by them.

  • Maximum Speed: 7 mph
  • Maximum Weight: 220 lbs
  • Minimum Weight: 44 lbs

WARNING: Riding the i-100 while exceeding the weight limit may increase the possibility of injury or product damage.

? NOTES: When max speed is reached, the i-100 will beep to alert the user and tilt the rider slowly back to prevent injury.

Operating Range

The i-100 can travel up to 10 miles on a fully charged battery under ideal conditions. Factors affecting range include:

  • Terrain: Operating range is highest on smooth, flat surfaces. Uphill or rough terrain significantly reduces range.
  • Weight: Lighter users have a higher operating range.
  • Ambient Temperature: Ride and store in recommended temperatures for optimal range, battery life, and performance.
  • Speed and Riding Style: Moderate, consistent speed maximizes range. High speeds, frequent starts/stops, and idling decrease range.

Balance & Calibration

If your i-100 is unbalanced, vibrating, or not turning properly, calibrate it:

  1. Place the i-100 on flat ground. Foot mats should be even, not tilted. Ensure the charger is unplugged and the hoverboard is off.
  2. Press and hold the power button for 10-15 seconds. The hoverboard will turn on, and the battery indicator will light up.
  3. After the light flashes 5 times consecutively, release the power button. Turn the hoverboard off and then back on. Calibration is complete.

Safety Alerts

If a system error or improper operation occurs, the device will alert the user.

The running indicator light will turn red, and a beep sound will alert you to take precaution and cease operation. The hoverboard may stop suddenly.

Common occurrences producing safety alerts:

  • Unsafe riding surfaces (uneven, too steep, etc.).
  • Battery voltage is too low.
  • The i-100 is still charging.
  • During operation, the platform self-tilts due to excess speed.
  • The hoverboard is overheating, or the motor temperature is too high.
  • The i-100 has been rocking back and forth for over 30 seconds.
  • If the system enters protection mode (battery low), the alarm indicator will light up, and the hoverboard will vibrate.
  • If the platform tilts forward or backward more than 10 degrees, the i-100 will power off and stop suddenly, potentially causing a loss of balance or fall.
  • If tires are blocked, the i-100 will stop after 2 seconds.
  • When battery level is depleted below protection mode, the i-100 will power off and stop after 15 seconds.
  • If a high discharge current is produced (e.g., driving up a steep slope for a long period), the i-100 will power off and stop after 15 seconds.

WARNING: When the i-100 turns off during a safety alert, all systems halt. Do not attempt to ride. Turn your i-100 off and back on to unlock it from a safety lock.

Charging Your i-100

  • Ensure the charging port is clean and dry, with no dust or debris inside.
  • Plug the charger into a grounded wall outlet; the charging indicator light on the charger will be green.
  • Connect the charging cable to the power supply (100V-240V, 50 Hz/60 Hz).
  • Align and connect the 3-pin charging cable into the charging port. DO NOT FORCE THE CHARGER, as this can break the prongs or cause permanent damage.
  • Once attached, the charger's indicator light should turn red, indicating charging.
  • When the charger's red light turns green, the hoverboard is fully charged. A full charge may take up to 6 hours. A red light is visible during charging.
  • If charging while powered on, a yellow flashing light on the hoverboard indicates it is charging.
  • After fully charging, unplug the charger from the i-100 and the power outlet.
