How to Manually Update Firmware on a Jabra Device via Jabra Direct

This guide explains how to manually update the firmware on your Jabra device using the Jabra Direct application. It also covers steps for recovering your device if a firmware update fails.

Updating Your Device's Firmware

  1. Turn on and connect the device to your computer. Depending on the product, this can be done by connecting a USB cable, Jabra Link Bluetooth adapter, or Jabra Link DECT adapter.
  2. Select your device in Jabra Direct. If a firmware update is available, the Update now button will be displayed.
  3. Click the Update now button (or the Updates icon in the left-hand menu) to open the Updates window.
  4. Click Update next to the device in the list to open the update dialog box.
  5. Select the language from the dropdown menu and click Update. Do not disconnect the device at any point during the update.
  6. When the firmware update is complete, follow any on-screen instructions to finalize the update.

Recovering Your Device if Firmware Update Fails

  1. If a device firmware update fails, you will receive information in a dialog box. Click OK.
  2. Click Recover next to the device in the list to open the update dialog box.
  3. Click Update. Do not disconnect the device at any point during the update.
  4. When the firmware update is complete, follow any on-screen instructions to finalize the update.
