This guide will walk you through the setup of your eufy NVR and PoE security cameras.

Connect the NVR Security System
Connect NVR to Your Router
Connect the NVR to your router using the provided Ethernet cable. Connect the NVR to the power adapter.
Connect Monitor and Mouse
Connect the NVR to a monitor or TV using the HDMI cable. Connect the USB mouse to one of the USB ports on the NVR.
NVR Components
Front Panel
- 1. Hard Drive LED: Indicates the status of the hard drive.
- 2. Network LED: Indicates the network connection status.
- 3. Power LED: Indicates the power status of the NVR.
- 4. QR Code: Used for app-based setup.
Back Panel
- 1. SYNC Button: Used for synchronization.
- 2. Reset Hole: For resetting the device.
- 3. Power Port (DCIN): Connect the power adapter here.
- 4. Audio Out Port: For audio output.
- 5. USB-C Port: For connecting USB devices.
- 6. USB-A Port: For connecting USB devices.
- 7. HDMI Port: For connecting to a monitor or TV.
- 8. LAN Port: For connecting to your router via Ethernet.
- 9. PoE Ports: Ports for connecting PoE cameras via Ethernet.
- 10. Ground Screw: For grounding the device.
Set Up NVR Access
Option A: Setup with Your Monitor/TV
Follow the on-screen prompts on your connected monitor/TV to complete the initial setup. This typically includes setting basic configurations, time, equipment information, network settings, and creating a local account.
Option B: Connect to the eufy App
Download the eufy app from your device's app store. Follow the instructions within the app to complete the setup.
- Download the eufy App.
- Add NVR: Within the app, select the option to add a new device and choose your NVR.
- Scan QR Code: Scan the QR code located on the NVR using your smartphone.
- Synchronize NVR: The app will synchronize with the NVR.
- Pair: Complete the pairing process to link your NVR to the app.
Mounting the PoE Cam S4
Step 1: Prepare Items

Step 2: Choose a Location
Recommended Placement
- Height: 2m to 3m (7 ft to 10 ft)
- Field of View: 20m (65 ft) (for Telephoto Lens)
- Mounting Surface: On the ceiling or on a wall.
Step 3: Drill Cable Hole
Determine the cable direction. Position the camera mount template and drill a 13/16" (20.6mm) hole for the Ethernet cable.
Step 4: Drill Screw Holes
Mark and drill holes for the mounting bracket screws using a 1/4" (6.3mm) drill bit.
Step 5: Insert Anchors
Insert the provided anchors into the drilled holes. Avoid drilling into wooden walls; use anchors for drywall or concrete.
Step 6: Install Mounting Bracket
Attach the mounting bracket to the wall or ceiling using the provided screws. The bracket can be mounted in two orientations.
Step 7: Mount the Camera
Attach the camera to the mounting bracket. Ensure the 'UP' mark on the camera is oriented upwards for correct live stream display.
Step 8: Connect Camera to NVR
Connect the camera's Ethernet cable to one of the NVR's PoE ports. Ensure the cable is securely plugged into the NVR.
If Cable Connector is Visible Outside
- Feed the Ethernet cable through the cable slot on the mounting bracket or wall.
- Ensure the connector end faces downwards to prevent water ingress.
- Install the waterproof cover and connect the camera with the Ethernet cable.
- Verify the Ethernet cable is securely connected to the NVR.
Waterproof Cable Connector
This process ensures a weather-resistant connection for outdoor installations.
- Ensure component A (the connector housing) is pre-installed on the camera's PoE plug.
- Feed the Ethernet cable through components B (cable clamp), C (waterproof seal), and D (connector housing) in that order.
- Connect the Ethernet cable's plug to the camera's PoE plug.
- Connect component D (the main connector housing) to the camera's PoE plug and rotate to lock it securely.
- Insert component C (the seal) into component D, and then rotate component B (the clamp) to secure it to D.
Note: The exact shape of the waterproof cover and connector may vary slightly.
Step 9: Adjust Camera Field of View
- Remove the protective film from the camera lens.
- Adjust the camera's angle using the adjustment knob or screws to achieve the optimal viewing angle.
- Check the live stream in the eufy app to confirm the desired view.
