eufy Security Camera System Installation Guide
This guide provides instructions for setting up your eufy NVR and PoE security cameras (S4, E41, E40).
Getting Started
NVR Installation Components
The following items are included for NVR installation:
- Network Video Recorder (NVR) S4 (with pre-installed 2TB hard drive)
- Power Adapter
- HDMI Cable
- 1m Ethernet Cable
- USB Mouse
Tools/Devices Needed
You will need the following tools/devices:
- Monitor/TV
- Router
- HDD (Note: HDD is pre-installed in the NVR S4 model)
NVR Overview
Front Panel
- LED Indicator for Hard Drive: Shows hard drive activity.
- Network LED: Indicates network connection status.
- Power LED: Shows power status.
- QR Code: For app pairing or setup. [QR Code]
Rear Panel
The rear panel of the NVR includes the following ports and controls:
- SYNC Button: Used for synchronization or pairing. ⚙️ SYNC Button
- Reset Hole: For resetting the device. ⚙️ Reset Hole
- Power Port: Connect the power adapter here. ? Power Port
- Audio Out: For audio output.
- USB-C Port: For accessories or power. ? USB-C

- HDMI Port: Connect to a monitor or TV. ? HDMI
- LAN Port: Connect to your router via Ethernet. ? LAN
- PoE Ports (PoE1-PoE8): For connecting PoE cameras. ⚡ PoE

Connecting the NVR System
Follow these steps to connect your NVR:
- Connect NVR to Router: Connect the NVR to your router using the provided Ethernet cable. (Diagram: Shows NVR connected via Ethernet cable to a router.)
- Connect Mouse and Monitor to NVR: Connect the USB mouse to a USB port on the NVR and the HDMI cable from the NVR to your monitor or TV. (Diagram: Shows USB mouse connected to NVR and HDMI cable from NVR to monitor.)
- Connect Cameras to NVR: Connect your PoE cameras to the NVR using Ethernet cables. Plug one end into the camera and the other into a PoE port on the NVR. (Diagram: Shows Ethernet cables running from cameras to the PoE ports on the NVR.)
- Connect to Power: Connect the power adapter to the NVR's power port and plug it into a wall outlet. Ensure there is at least 20 mm (0.78") clearance on the left and right sides of the NVR for adequate ventilation. Setting Up NVR Access
You can access your NVR system in two ways:
Option A: Configure with Monitor/TV
Connect a monitor and mouse to the NVR and follow the on-screen prompts for initial setup, including basic settings, time, and network configuration.
Option B: Connect NVR with eufy App
- Download the eufy App: Search for and download the "eufy Security" app from the Apple App Store (? App Store) or Google Play Store (▶️ Google Play).
- Follow In-App Instructions: Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup. This typically involves:
- Adding the NVR to your account.
- Scanning the NVR's QR code.
- Synchronizing the NVR with the app.
- Pairing the NVR with your account.
Installing PoE Cam S4
Step 1: Prepare Items
For PoE Cam S4 installation, ensure you have the following:

- Waterproof Package Cover
Required Tools/Devices:
- Phillips Screwdriver ?

PoE Cam S4 Components
Identify the parts of your PoE Cam S4:
- 1. Mounting Base
- 2./10./12. Spotlight

- 13./14. Spring Screw
- 15. SD Card Slot

Step 2: Choose Location
Select an optimal mounting location:
- Recommended Height: 2m to 3m (7 to 10 feet)
- Field of View: 20m (65 ft) coverage (for telephoto view)
- Mounting Surface: Ceiling or wall

Step 3: Drill Cable Hole
Drill a 13/16" (20.6 mm) hole for the Ethernet cable. Ensure correct placement for ceiling or wall mounting.

Step 4: Drill Screw Holes
Drill holes for the mounting screws using a 1/4" (6.3 mm) drill bit.

Step 5: Insert Anchors
Insert the provided wall anchors into the drilled holes. Note: Skip this step if mounting on a wooden wall or ceiling.

Step 6: Install Mounting Bracket
Attach the mounting bracket to the wall or ceiling using the screws. The bracket can be mounted in any orientation, using the side with three holes.

Step 7: Mount Camera
Attach the PoE Cam S4 to the installed mounting bracket and secure it using the spring screws.

Step 8: Connect Cameras to NVR
Connect the PoE cameras to the NVR using Ethernet cables.
- Connect the camera's Ethernet cable to the NVR's PoE port.
- Ensure the Ethernet cable is securely connected to the NVR.

Waterproof Cable Connectors
If the cable connector is exposed outdoors, follow these steps for a waterproof connection:
- Route the cable through the cable cutout.
- Ensure the connector is facing downwards to prevent water ingress.
- Install the waterproof cover and connect the camera using the Ethernet cable.
- Ensure the Ethernet cable is connected to the NVR.
Detailed Waterproof Connector Assembly:
- Ensure part A is pre-installed on the camera's PoE connector.
- Thread cable D through the connector parts.
- Connect the Ethernet cable to the camera's PoE connector.
- Connect part D to the camera's PoE connector and twist to lock.
- Insert C into D and then B to secure it to D.

Step 9: Adjust Camera Field of View
- Remove the protective film from the camera lens.
- Rotate the camera to achieve the optimal viewing angle.
- Check the live transmission in the eufy app to confirm the view.

Step 2: Choose Location

Step 6: Install Mounting Bracket
Attach the mounting bracket to the wall or ceiling using the screws. The bracket can be mounted in any orientation, using the side with three holes.

Step 7: Mount Camera
Attach the PoE Cam E41 to the installed mounting bracket and secure it. Ensure the camera is always oriented vertically with the "UP" marking facing upwards. Otherwise, the live feed will be upside down.

Step 8: Connect Cameras to NVR
Connect the PoE cameras to the NVR using Ethernet cables.
- Connect the camera's Ethernet cable to the NVR's PoE port.
- Ensure the Ethernet cable is securely connected to the NVR.
