Driving Mode Functions
The E360 recorder primarily operates in driving mode. The main functions are:
Loop Recording
The recorder automatically enters loop recording mode upon startup. Videos are saved in the normal video folder with a pre-set duration. This feature ensures continuous recording by overwriting older files, preventing storage from filling up during driving.
Diagram Description: Shows the E360 screen with recording information, including resolution, time, speed, and WiFi status.
Notes:
- Loop recording performance depends on SD card speed. Format the card regularly to prevent issues caused by excessive files or aging cards.
- Periodically check loop recordings to ensure important footage is not overwritten.
- If loop recording is turned off, the locking function will not be effective.
- When loop recording is off, each segment is 20 minutes. Recording stops when the card is full, with a "Card Full!" notification.
Emergency Recording
During driving, if a special situation occurs, you can manually lock the recording, or the recorder will automatically lock it. Pressing the emergency recording button will trigger an emergency recording. After recording, the video will be automatically saved in the emergency video folder, and photos will be saved in the photo folder.
Voice Recognition
Users can issue voice commands to the recorder, such as taking snapshots, starting/stopping recording, turning Wi-Fi on/off, and locking videos. Supported languages include English, Japanese, Russian, and Chinese. For more detailed voice commands, refer to System Settings > Voice Content.
Voice recognition sensitivity options include Low, Standard, High, or Off. Standard sensitivity is the default. Users can control the recorder using voice commands.
GPS Function
GPS is enabled by default and receives GPS signals via the GPS mount. It can automatically correct the date and time based on the user's location and record the location and speed information of the video.
Diagram Description: Shows the GPS information screen with signal strength bars and location data.
Notes:
- GPS connection is typically completed within 1 minute of powering on. If connection fails after 1 minute, check if the GPS function is enabled and if the GPS mount is connected. Environmental factors like underground parking, dense buildings, subways, or tunnels can affect GPS signal reception.
- GPS information is recorded within the user's videos. To view it, download and install the VANTRUE APP and VANTRUE GPS Player.
The E360 recorder defaults to enabling GPS for time auto-correction. Users can select their time zone (e.g., GMT-08:00 for Los Angeles). If unsure of your time zone, connect to the VANTRUE APP via Wi-Fi and ensure the auto-time correction function is enabled. Once connected, the recorder's time zone will be forcibly synchronized with your phone's time zone.
Notes:
- GPS auto-correction requires the correct time zone to be set. Refer to representative cities for each time zone.
- The automatic summer/winter time switch function is limited to North American regions.
Parking Monitoring
When the vehicle is parked, users can set up various parking monitoring modes based on the vehicle, parking environment, and personal needs. There are currently 4 parking monitoring modes available.
Diagram Description: Shows the 'Parking Monitoring Mode' menu with options like 'Low Bitrate Recording' and 'Low Frame Rate Recording'.
Important Notes for Using Parking Mode:
- To ensure proper operation of parking mode, use a VANTRUE step-down cable or another stable power source to supply power to the recorder.
- For ACC parking mode, use a VANTRUE ACC step-down cable. Other brands' ACC step-down cables may not be compatible due to differences in ACC detection pin positions.
- In hot summer conditions (temperatures up to 60°C inside the car), it is recommended to use Collision Detection mode. It is advised to turn off the recorder if the internal temperature reaches 60°C to prevent abnormal operation.
- Time-lapse recording and parking modes (including Collision Detection, Motion Detection, Low Bitrate Recording, Low Frame Rate Mode) are mutually exclusive. Enabling one will automatically disable others.
- All parking mode recordings are saved in the parking video folder. To prevent them from being overwritten by loop recording, check the files regularly.
- Parking mode functionality may improve with software updates. Please refer to VANTRUE's official website for software update details or consult customer service.
Mode 1: Collision Detection
When Collision Detection is enabled, a collision detection icon will appear on the recording screen. Upon detecting vibration, the recorder will trigger a 1-minute recording, saving the file to the parking video folder. You can play back these files using the VANTRUE APP or the VANTRUE computer player.
Diagram Description: Shows the E360 screen with the collision detection icon active.
Mode 2: Motion Detection
When Motion Detection is enabled, a motion detection icon will appear on the recording screen. Once motion is detected within the monitoring range, it will trigger a 30-second recording, including the 10 seconds prior to the motion detection, forming a 40-second motion detection video. This is saved in the parking video folder.
Diagram Description: Shows the E360 screen with the motion detection icon active.
Mode 3: Low Bitrate Recording
In Low Bitrate Recording mode, the resolution of all cameras automatically switches to 1080P 15FPS or 720P 15FPS for recording. Each recording segment is 3 minutes long and saved in the parking video folder.
Diagram Description: Shows the E360 screen displaying 1080P 15FPS resolution.
Mode 4: Low Frame Rate Recording
In Low Frame Rate Recording mode, the recorder compresses the recording time to extend the usability of the recording files. Each low frame rate recording segment lasts for 1 minute and is saved in the parking video folder.
Diagram Description: Shows the E360 screen displaying 720P 15FPS resolution.
Parking Monitoring Settings
This section allows you to adjust settings for different parking monitoring modes, enhancing the accuracy and flexibility of the parking monitoring function.
- Setting 1: Detection Camera Settings: After enabling any parking monitoring mode, all cameras are set to detect by default. Users can adjust the combination of lenses for parking monitoring detection based on different scenarios.
- Setting 2: Parking Low-Light Night Vision: To enhance safety during nighttime parking, this feature utilizes lens performance combined with low-light night vision technology to improve night vision effects in parking mode. This function is enabled by default and only triggers when parking mode is active, ensuring it does not affect normal recording.
- Diagram Description: Shows the E360 screen with low-light night vision enabled and disabled.
- Setting 3: Parking Collision Detection: This function allows adjustment of the collision detection activation mode. In Power Saving Mode, the recorder powers off and triggers recording upon an event. In Quick Start Mode, the recorder remains in standby and starts recording immediately upon an event.
