  • Photo: Photo files.
  • All: All recorded standard and critical event videos.

Note on Suffixes: Suffix A for front camera, B for front cabin, C for rear cabin, and D for rear camera.

4.2 Key Features

4.2.1 Loop Recording

The dash cam automatically enters loop recording upon power-on. Video duration is based on the set loop recording time. When the normal video folder reaches 70% capacity, new files overwrite older ones. Proper memory card formatting and regular checks are advised to prevent issues.

4.2.2 Event Recording

Event videos are triggered by the G-sensor (gravity sensor) or manual locking. During driving, the camera can automatically lock event recordings or be manually locked by pressing a specific button. This feature is recommended to be used with loop recording ON. Event videos are saved in the "Event" folder.

Note: Sensitivity of automatic locking depends on collision sensitivity settings. Event video capacity is 30% of the memory card. Periodically check and save event files. Lock recording does not trigger if loop recording is OFF or time-lapse is ON.

4.2.3 Low-light Night Vision in Parking Mode

Enhances safety during night parking by improving night vision effect. It is triggered only after entering parking mode and does not affect normal recording. Default is ON.

4.2.4 Motion Detection Area

Adjust the motion detection range for front and rear areas, including up/down and left/right adjustments. This feature works in motion detection parking mode and supports 1X to 5X range settings.

4.2.5 Parking Mode

Parking Mode acts as a sentry function. It can be set to Collision Detection, Motion Detection, Low Bitrate Mode, or Low Framerate Mode. After parking mode is turned on, recording can start automatically after 5 minutes, be initiated manually by pressing a button, or directly if the ACC hardwire kit is installed.

Note: Use Vantrue hardwire kits for ACC hardwire. Avoid operating the camera in extreme temperatures (above 60°C/140°F). Time-lapse, collision detection, motion detection, low bitrate, and low framerate modes can only be enabled one at a time. All parking mode videos are saved in the normal video folder.

Collision Detection: When enabled, a specific icon appears. Sensitivity is adjustable from 1 to 5. When collision detection is ON and no movement is detected for 5 minutes, the camera turns off. It will record for 1 minute after detecting a shake and then turn off again.

Motion Detection: When ON, a specific icon appears. Set the detection area. If no movement is detected for 5 minutes, an orange icon appears, and the screen turns off after 3 minutes. The camera detects object movement and records for 30 seconds, including a 10s pre-recorded clip. Motion detection mode only works when the camera is ON.

Low Bitrate Recording: Displays specific resolution icons (e.g., 720P 15FPS or 1080P 15FPS). If no movement is detected for 5 minutes, resolution switches to 1080P 15FPS or 720P 15FPS. Recording duration is based on loop settings. The mode exits if the camera vibrates or moves.

Low Framerate mode: Records at selected frame rates (1FPS/5FPS/10FPS/15FPS), preserving video integrity and saving memory card space. The calculation for normal recording time is provided. This mode requires a stable power supply.

4.2.6 Privacy Mode

When enabled, only the latest 3 recording files are saved. Privacy files are saved in the normal folder with an "S" suffix. Privacy mode cannot be enabled when loop recording is OFF. Format the memory card before enabling privacy mode.

4.2.7 Mileage Statistics

The dash cam records and analyzes driving time, distance, altitude, and speed using GPS information. Mileage information can be downloaded from the app as a picture or PDF file.

4.2.8 Voice Assistant

Control the camera with voice commands (e.g., take photo, start video, toggle Wi-Fi, lock video). Supported languages: English, Japanese, Russian, Chinese. Refer to System Settings > Voice Content for detailed commands. Default sensitivity is Standard.

4.2.9 GPS Function

The GPS function calibrates time and date, records location, and speed using signals from the GPS mount. GPS connection completes within 1 minute. Check GPS function, bracket connection, and environmental factors if connection fails. GPS information is recorded with the video and can be viewed using the Vantrue APP and Vantrue GPS Player.

4.2.10 GPS Automatic Update Time & Date

GPS automatic time setting is enabled by default. You can select your time zone (e.g., GMT-08:00 for Los Angeles) or use Wi-Fi to connect to the Vantrue App to confirm automatic time adjustment.

4.2.11 Viewing and Deleting Video/Photos

a. Viewing and Deleting Files on the Camera: After clicking "Files", navigate to a folder and use buttons to select next/previous files and delete them during playback.

b. Viewing and Deleting Files on Computer: Connect the camera to a computer via the included Type-C USB data cable. The camera will appear as a removable drive. Access, right-click, and delete files. A USB card reader can also be used. Ensure a stable power supply and use USB 3.0 ports if possible.

c. Viewing and Deleting on the "Vantrue" APP: After connecting via Wi-Fi, play back, download, and delete files directly from the mobile app. GPS track information is available after downloading the video file locally and disconnecting the dash cam's Wi-Fi.

4.2.12 Upgrading Firmware

Option 1: File Upgrade: Download firmware from the Vantrue Official Website, place it in the memory card's root directory, insert the card, and power on the dash cam to upgrade.

Option 2: OTA (Over-the-Air) Firmware Update: Open the Vantrue App, receive the firmware update prompt, and confirm the upgrade. The app guides the process. Keep the device plugged in and ensure network access for downloads.
