  • To disconnect: Remove the lock clip. Press the lock sleeve with your thumb and index finger, then pull out the tubing. Do not pull the tubing directly, as this can damage the fitting and cause leakage.
  • Cutting Tubing: If tubing is too long, cut it cleanly and squarely with a sharp utility knife or scissors. Ensure about 0.8" of tubing is inserted into the fitting.

How to Drill a Hole into Your Sink or Countertop (Optional):

Check if an existing hole is available for the RO faucet. If not, drill a 1" hole. It is recommended to watch the "How to Drill a Faucet Hole" video for guidance. Always wear safety glasses while drilling.

  • Use the appropriate drill bit (diamond for granite, carbide for stainless steel). Avoid hammer drills on natural stone, glass, or ceramic.
  • Glue the sticker onto your sink or countertop and drill the hole referring to the sticker.
  • For stainless steel sinks, make an indent with a center punch to guide the bit.
  • Be careful when drilling porcelain sinks as they can chip easily. Apply firm downward pressure.
  • Start at the lowest speed and hold the drill straight.
  • After breaking through the surface, swirl the drill slightly in a circular motion.

Installation Steps

Prior to installation, it is highly recommended to watch the video "Waterdrop G3 RO Installation" on YouTube.

Notes:

  • The RO system must be connected to the COLD water supply ONLY.
  • Do not install the system in direct sunlight, near harmful chemicals, heat sources, or outdoors.

Step 1: Install the Feed Water Adapter (3/8" or 1/2")

The "INPUT" water tubing is pre-attached to the feed water adapter. Shut off the water supply and turn on the kitchen faucet to release pressure. Disconnect the cold water pipe from the valve. Attach the feed water adapter (with its washer) to the cold water supply valve and tighten with an adjustable wrench. If the cold water pipe is 1/2", unscrew the two converters from the feed water adapter first. Then, attach the cold water pipe (with its washer) to the feed water adapter and tighten.

Step 2: Install the RO Faucet (Non-Air Gap Faucet)

If your sink or countertop does not have an existing hole, drill a 1" hole (refer to Page 5). Insert the faucet spout into the faucet body. Insert the faucet stem, power cord, and filtered water tubing into the hole on the countertop. Under the sink, slip on the nut and tighten it.

Step 3: Install the Drain Saddle

Apply the foam seal onto the front plate of the drain saddle, aligning the hole with the front panel hole. Choose a convenient spot on the drain pipe (vertical is recommended). Drill a 1/4" hole in the drain pipe, ensuring not to penetrate the opposite side. Insert the tubing (without the mark) into the drilled hole for about 0.6". Position the back plate on the drain pipe by tightening the screws and nuts evenly. Pop the lock clip on the fitting to secure the connection. NOTE: The "WASTE" water tubing may require an air gap accessory, which needs to be purchased separately.

Step 4: Position the RO System Housing

It is not recommended to place the housing against the cabinet to avoid vibrations. The power-supply receptacle should be installed in a cabinet or on a wall adjacent to the undercounter space. Ensure there is an opening through the partition (max 1.5" / 38mm) for the attachment plug. If the partition is wood, smooth the edges of the opening. If metal, use an edge protector. Exercise care when installing or removing the appliance to avoid damage to the supply cord. The system dimensions are approximately 18.11" (L) x 5.67" (W) x 17.72" (H).

Step 5: Connect Tubing

Confirm tubing length and cut if necessary (refer to page 4).

  1. Install the "INPUT" Water Tubing: Remove the plug from the "INPUT" water port. Insert the white 3/8" PE tubing (attached to the feed water adapter) into the "INPUT" water port. Pop the lock clip on the fitting. Ensure it is fully inserted until the mark on the tubing is reached.
  2. Install the "FILTERED" Water Tubing: Remove the plug from the "FILTERED" water port. Insert the white 1/4" PE tubing (pre-installed with RO faucet) into the "FILTERED" water port. Pop the lock clip on the fitting. Ensure it is fully inserted until the mark on the tubing is reached.
  3. Install the "WASTE" Water Tubing: Remove the plug from the "WASTE" water port. Insert the red 1/4" PE tubing (attached to the drain saddle) into the "WASTE" water port. Pop the lock clip on the fitting. Ensure it is fully inserted until the mark on the tubing is reached.

Step 6: Connect Power Cord

Connect the RO faucet power cord to the "FAUCET" connector at the back of the housing and tighten the nut. Connect the DC head of the power adapter to the "POWER" port at the back of the housing. NOTE: Do not connect the power socket yet.

Step 7: Install the Filters

Each filter is marked with a logo (CB/CF/RO) and an installation arrow. Remove the wrapping and protective cap from the filter. Insert the filter into its corresponding hole, aligning the arrow with the empty circle on the housing. Twist the filter clockwise 90 degrees until the arrow aligns with the solid circle. A clicking sound indicates proper fit. Repeat for the other two filters.

Step 8: Start up the System

  1. Turn on the cold water supply valve and check for leaks.
  2. The system starts flushing automatically for 5 minutes. During this initial flush, filter life indicators on the front panel will flash blue, yellow, and red, then turn blue for 5 minutes. The faucet filter life indicator will flash white, yellow, red, then turn white for 5 minutes. The faucet displays flushing status. Do not turn on the RO faucet during this period. The indicator lights will turn off when the flush is complete. NOTE: A slow water flow is normal, and the water is not drinkable during the automatic flush.
  3. Turn on the RO faucet and allow it to run for 30 minutes until the front panel and faucet screens display a TDS reading. NOTE: Carefully check the tightness of all parts, tubing, fittings, and connections to ensure there are no leaks. Water is not drinkable during flushing. The 30 minutes are accumulative; if the flush is interrupted, it will continue when the RO faucet is next opened until the 30 minutes are met.
  4. Confirm the flush is completed before turning off the RO faucet and ensure there are no leaks.
  5. Secure the power adapter with the cable tie so it does not move by impact. Keep it away from water sources, pipe fittings, basements, and wet floors to prevent failure.

Display and Operation

Section 1: TDS Display

The built-in TDS sensor detects water quality and displays the TDS reading on the front panel and RO faucet screens. The system provides high TDS rejection when working properly, though actual performance may vary. The TDS display on the front panel turns off after 5 minutes of inactivity, and the faucet screen after 1 minute. During the first 10-30 seconds of dispensing, the system updates the TDS reading, and residual water in the filtered water tubing may cause a temporarily higher reading. NOTE: Readings shown are examples; actual readings may vary based on water conditions.

Section 2: Filter Life Reminder

Filter life may vary depending on source water quality and usage. Replace filters according to the indicator reminders.

1. Filter Life Indicator on System Housing: Electronic indicators (CF/CB/RO) on the front panel notify you for routine filter replacement by color change. Reset the filter life indicator after each replacement.

  • Activated Carbon Filter (CB): Filter Life: Up to 12 months

How to Replace Filters: Filters can be replaced directly without shutting off power and water supplies, preventing water and electric leakage.

  1. Before removing a filter, turn off the faucet and wait 30 seconds to release internal pressure, making filter removal and installation easier.
  2. Twist off the filter to be replaced in a counterclockwise direction. NOTE: After replacing the CF and CB filters, it is recommended to press the center knob of the old RO filter to release pressure and prevent water spills. Catch any excess water with a towel or bucket.
  3. Twist the new filter into the housing in a clockwise direction.
  4. Reset the filter life indicator and flush the filter after replacement (refer to the following steps).

How to Reset the Filter Life Indicator: Hold the filter life indicator (e.g., CB) for 7 seconds until the system beeps. Repeat for CF or RO filters.

How to Flush the Filter after Replacement:

  • For CF filter: It will flush automatically for 5 minutes without turning on the RO faucet.
  • For CB filter: Turn on the RO faucet to flush for 15 minutes.
  • For RO filter: Turn on the RO faucet to flush for 30 minutes.

Section 4: Automatic Flushing

The system will automatically flush in the following situations:

  1. Flush for Accumulative Working Time over 2 Hours: To maintain filter life, the system flushes for 20 seconds after every 2 hours of operation. If water is dispensed during flushing, the system will quit flushing and switch to dispensing.
  2. Flush for Power Restore: After a power outage, the system flushes automatically for 20 seconds. Lights flash blue, yellow, and red for one second each, then the blue light stays on for 20 seconds. Indicators turn off upon completion.

Section 3: Circular Fresh Water Flushing

This function ensures each cup of water is fresh and healthy. After the system stops filtering for 5 minutes, it circulates fresh water. The system panel displays the flushing status during this process.

Section 6: Malfunction Display

When the system is in fault, malfunction codes are displayed:

  • E02: Inside water leakage. The buzzer keeps beeping. Check the water reservoir at the back for water; if present, clean the container and reinstall. If E02 persists, contact customer service at +1-888-352-3558 (Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM PST).
  • E03: Booster pump overworks. The buzzer beeps for 3 minutes. Power cycle the system to recover.
  • E04: Booster pump starts and stops frequently. The buzzer sounds 5 times. Power cycle the system to recover.

System Maintenance

  • If the system is not used for more than one week: Turn on the RO faucet, shut off the cold water valve, and disconnect the power. Seal the filters and store them in the refrigerator (not the freezer). Before using again, open the RO faucet and run for 10 minutes. Otherwise, filters may need replacement.
  • Replace filters regularly according to the filter life indicator. NOTE: Actual performance may vary based on source water quality and usage.
  • Clean the system with clear water only. Do not spray water directly. Do not use steel wool, abrasive cleaners, or corrosive liquids.
  • Do not pour other liquids into the filter to avoid damage.
  • Keep the waste water pipe unobstructed.
  • If the drain pipe is blocked, do not use the system (turn off power) to prevent waste water overflow.
  • Regularly check system and water pipe fittings for leaks to prevent property damage.
  • Regularly check power supply and wires for damage or looseness to avoid electrical accidents.
  • If using well water, ensure it has been pre-filtered to prevent large particles from clogging the filter and reducing its life.

Troubleshooting

If the System Can't Be Powered on After You Insert the Plug of Power Adapter

  1. Check the power under the sink; ensure the power is on.
  2. Verify the connection between the plug and the power outlet, and that the system is plugged in correctly.
  3. Try plugging the system into another power outlet to test. Contact support if the issue persists.

No Output Water from RO Faucet

  1. Filter expired: Check filter life indicators and replace as needed.
  2. Low water pressure: Confirm water pressure is between 14.5 psi and 87 psi.
  3. Water supply is off: Turn on the feed water adapter or water supply valve.
  4. Incorrect filter installation: Re-install the three filters properly.
  5. Crimped tubing: Check all tubing and remove any crimps.

Low Water Flow at the RO Faucet

  1. Leak from tubing connection: Check and ensure all tubing is installed correctly and completely.
  2. Filter expires: Check filter life indicators and replace as needed.
  3. Low water temperature: Ensure the system is used at a temperature of 41-100 °F.
  4. Well water without pre-filtration: If using well water, ensure it is pre-filtered. Otherwise, large particles can clog the filter and shorten its life.

Water Leakage

  1. Check all joints, fittings, and tubing connections. Ensure filters are well installed.
  2. If the front panel or RO faucet screen shows code E02 (water leakage inside the system), pull out the water reservoir at the back, check for water, clean the container, and reinstall it. If E02 persists, contact customer service.

No Display on the System

  1. For power saving, the faucet screen turns off after 1 minute, and the front panel screen after 5 minutes of inactivity.
  2. Check if the power adapter is plugged in and not broken. Replace the power adapter if necessary.

High TDS in Filtered Water

Possible causes include:

  1. System not used recently: Open the RO faucet and run water for a while to return TDS to normal.
  2. RO filter expired: Replace the RO filter immediately.
  3. Waste water pipe crimped or clogged: Check and remove crimps, re-align drain saddle and pipe.
  4. High TDS source water: Test source and filtered water. Filtered water TDS should be 5%-10% of source water TDS. If filtered water TDS increases to 15%-20% of source water TDS, perform routine filter replacement.

TDS Reading Fluctuates When Dispensing Water

This can be due to variations in dissolved solids in flowing water or a slight deviation in the TDS sensor.

The Difference between the TDS Reading Tested by the TDS Meter and the Displayed Reading

The TDS meter measures static water, while the system displays the TDS of flowing water. TDS meter accuracy can also be a factor.

Filtered Water from the RO Faucet Tastes Like Tap Water

  1. Incorrect tubing installation: Ensure waste water tubing is not connected to the RO faucet.
  2. Filters not installed properly: Make sure filters are seated correctly.
  3. Filter expires: Check filter life indicators and replace as needed.

Booster Pump Overworked Reminder (E03)

The buzzer beeps for 3 minutes. This may occur due to continuous dispensing for over 30 minutes or a tubing leak. Power cycle the system and check tubing connections.

Booster Pump Starting and Stopping Frequently Reminder (E04)

The buzzer sounds 5 times, indicating an internal pressure imbalance. Disconnect power, turn the faucet on/off, remove tubing crimps, ensure the faucet is not blocked, and power cycle the system.

Loud Sound of RO System

The sound level should not exceed 65 dB. Loud sounds may be caused by the system not being positioned on a flat surface, being placed against a cabinet, or unstable water pressure. Ensure the system is stable and water pressure is within the specified range (14.5 psi to 87 psi).
