Safety Warnings

[Risk of Electric Shock. Do Not Open.]This symbol indicates that high voltage is present inside. It is dangerous to make any kind of contact with any internal part of this product.
[Important Literature]This symbol indicates that this product has included important literature concerning operation and maintenance.
[Class II Product]Class II product: This symbol indicates that it does not require a safety connection to electrical earth (ground). If this symbol is not present on a product with a power cord, the product MUST have a reliable connection to protective earth (ground).
[AC Voltage]AC voltage: This symbol indicates that the rated voltage marked with the symbol is AC voltage.
[DC Voltage]DC voltage: This symbol indicates that the rated voltage marked with the symbol is DC voltage.
[Caution, Consult Instructions]Caution, Consult instructions for use: This symbol instructs the user to consult the user manual for further safety related information.

Precautions

  • To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose this appliance to rain or moisture.
  • To prevent electric shock, match the wide blade of the plug to the wide slot, fully insert.
  • This apparatus shall always be connected to an AC outlet with a protective grounding connection.
  • To disconnect the apparatus from the mains, the plug must be pulled out from the mains socket, therefore the mains plug shall be readily operable.
  • Do not expose this apparatus to dripping or splashing. Do not put objects filled with liquids, such as vases on the apparatus.
  • To turn this apparatus off completely, you must pull the power plug out of the wall socket. Consequently, the power plug must be easily and readily accessible at all times.
  1. Make sure to rest the AC/DC Adapter flat on a table or the floor. If you place the AC/DC Adapter so that it is hanging with the AC cord input facing upwards, water or other foreign substances could enter the Adapter and cause the Adapter to malfunction.
  2. Ensure that the AC power supply in your house complies with the power requirements listed on the identification sticker located on the bottom of your product. Install your product horizontally, on a suitable base (furniture), with enough space around it for ventilation (7~10 cm). Make sure the ventilation slots are not covered. Do not place the unit on amplifiers or other equipment which may become hot. This unit is designed for continuous use. To fully turn off the unit, disconnect the AC plug from the wall outlet. Unplug the unit if you intend to leave it unused for a long period of time.
  3. During thunderstorms, disconnect the AC plug from the wall outlet. Voltage peaks due to lightning could damage the unit.
  4. Do not expose the unit to direct sunlight or other heat sources. This could lead to overheating and cause the unit to malfunction.
  5. Protect the product from moisture (i.e. vases), and excess heat (e.g. a fireplace) or equipment creating strong magnetic or electric fields. Unplug the power cable from the AC wall socket if the unit malfunctions. Your product is not intended for industrial use. It is for personal use only. Condensation may occur if your product has been stored in cold temperatures. If transporting the unit during the winter, wait approximately 2 hours or until the unit has reached room temperature before using.
  6. The battery used with this product contains chemicals that are harmful to the environment. Do not dispose of the battery in the general household trash. Do not expose the battery to excess heat, direct sunlight, or fire. Do not short circuit, disassemble, or overheat the battery. CAUTION: Danger of explosion if the battery is replaced incorrectly. Replace only with the same or equivalent type.

Product Overview

Front Panel / Top Panel of the Soundbar

The front and top panels of the soundbar feature controls and indicators for operation.

  • Volume Controls: Adjust the sound level.
  • Multi Function Button: In standby mode, press this button to turn on the soundbar. Press it again to change the audio mode.
  • Mic On/Off Button: Press this button to turn the microphone on or off. Holding this button for more than 5 seconds in Bluetooth mode activates Bluetooth pairing.

LED Indicator States:

  • White On → Off: Indicates "TV ARC" or "eARC" mode.
  • White On → Off: Indicates "Wi-Fi" mode.
  • White On → Off: Indicates "Bluetooth" mode.
  • White On → Off: Indicates "Digital Audio In" mode.
  • Red On (Mic On/Off Button): Indicates "Mic Off" when red, and "Mic On" when off.

The LED indicator may flash, glow, or change color depending on the soundbar's current mode or status.

Connecting with a Cable

Connecting using an HDMI Cable

Connect the HDMI cable from the TV's HDMI (eARC) port to the soundbar's HDMI (eARC) port.

LED Indicator: White On → Off indicates "TV ARC" or "eARC" mode.

Connecting using an Optical Cable (D.IN)

Connect an optical cable from the external device's OPTICAL OUT to the soundbar's DIGITAL AUDIO IN (OPTICAL) port.

LED Indicator: White On → Off indicates "Digital Audio In" mode.

Notes

  • If TV sound is not outputting, press the (Multi Function) button on the soundbar or the (Source) button on the remote to select "TV ARC" or "eARC" mode.
  • An HDMI cable certified by HDMI.org is recommended.
  • Ensure covers are removed from optical cable terminals before use.

Using the Q-Symphony Function

When the soundbar connects to a Samsung TV that supports Q-Symphony, sound can be played simultaneously through the soundbar and TV for a richer, more dimensional surround sound experience. The "Q-Symphony" menu will appear on the TV when the soundbar is connected (message may vary by TV model). Navigate via Settings () → All Settings () → Sound → Sound Output.

Using a Wireless Connection

Connecting via Bluetooth

When in "Bluetooth" mode:

  • Search for the Bluetooth device on your TV or mobile device.
  • Follow the pairing process: Red → Green → Blue Blinks (Pairing) → Cyan Blinks X3 (Connection is complete), indicated by "Ready to connect via Bluetooth."
  • If prompted for a PIN code, enter <0000>.

Connecting via Wi-Fi (Wireless Network)

To connect via Wi-Fi, use the SmartThings app:

  1. Connect your mobile device (smartphone, tablet, etc.) to the same Wi-Fi network as your TV.
  2. Install and launch the SmartThings app on your mobile device.
  3. Follow the app's on-screen instructions to connect the soundbar to your Wi-Fi network.

Troubleshooting

  • Soundbar does not turn on: Check if the power cord is correctly inserted.
  • Soundbar works erratically: Remove and reinsert the power cord. Power cycle the external device. Turn on power if the soundbar automatically turns off due to no signal.
  • Remote control does not work: Point directly at the soundbar. Replace batteries.
  • Red LED indicator stays on: The microphone is turned off. Turn it on.
  • Soundbar does not output any sound: Adjust volume. Adjust volume on the external device. Select Soundbar as TV sound output. Remove and reconnect cables.
  • TV not connected via HDMI (eARC): Check HDMI cable connection. Try connecting directly if an external device causes issues. Activate HDMI-CEC on the TV if necessary.
  • Soundbar not connecting via Bluetooth: Switch to Bluetooth pairing mode. Reconnect after removing the Bluetooth speaker list from the device.
  • Sound drops out via Bluetooth: Ensure devices are not too close to each other (e.g., microwaves, routers). Move the Bluetooth device closer to the soundbar. Check installation environment for interference.
  • Unable to connect to Wi-Fi: Ensure the wireless router is on and reconnect after rebooting. Move the router closer or remove obstacles if the signal is weak.
  • Soundbar does not turn on automatically with TV: Turn off the TV first, as power synchronization is disabled when the soundbar is turned off during TV viewing.

Important Notes About Service

  • Manual illustrations are for reference and may differ from the actual product.
  • An administration fee may be charged if an engineer is called out for a non-product defect (e.g., manual not read) or if the unit is brought in for repair with no defect. The fee amount will be communicated before any service is performed.
