Important Information & Safety Precautions

General Safety

Thoroughly read all safety precautions and instructions before using the device. Keep this guide for future reference.

Privacy

Wireless headset conversations are transmitted via radio waves and may be intercepted by radio receiving equipment. Treat conversations with discretion.

Base Station, Power Adapter, and Battery

CAUTIONS: Use only the Snom Technology-provided power adapter (VTPL models VT08EEU55100/VT08EUK55100) and rechargeable batteries (BT291865, Li-Ion Polymer, 3.7V 140mAh). Using incorrect battery types may lead to leakage, fire, or explosion. Dispose of used batteries properly.

Placement and Operation

This device is designed for professional, indoor use only. Install the power adapter near the equipment and ensure easy access. Avoid placing cords where they can be tripped over or damaged. Operate within a temperature range of 0°C to +50°C (32°F to +122°F) with humidity up to 95% (non-condensing). Do not install in humid areas or immerse the product in water. Do not use in potentially explosive environments (e.g., paint shops) or if you detect gas odors.

Medical Devices

DECT devices may interfere with inadequately shielded medical devices. Consult a physician or the manufacturer if you have concerns. Switch off the device in healthcare facilities if signs instruct you to do so.

Implanted Medical Devices (Pacemakers, etc.)

Maintain a minimum distance of 20 cm (7.8 inches) from implanted medical devices. Do not carry the headset in a breast pocket. Wear the headset on the ear opposite the medical device. Turn off the headset immediately if interference is suspected. Always follow the medical device manufacturer's instructions.

Hearing Aids

The headset may cause background noise for users with hearing aids.

Small Children

Keep the device and accessories away from small children, as they may contain small parts.

Operating Environment

Follow local regulations and switch off the device where its use is prohibited or may cause interference or danger. Do not place magnetic storage media near the device, as data may be erased.

Potentially Explosive Environments

Switch off the device in areas with potentially explosive atmospheres and follow all instructions. Sparks can cause explosions or fires. Avoid use near fuel pumps, in chemical plants, or during blasting operations. This includes areas like boat decks, fuel transfer facilities, and vehicles using LPG.

Sensitive Electronic Equipment

Maintain a minimum distance of 10 cm (3.94 inches) from sensitive electronic equipment, even when the phone is in standby mode.

Electrical Surges

Consider installing an AC surge protector to safeguard against damage from lightning or other electrical surges.

Use only Snom-approved batteries. Avoid extreme temperatures, low air pressure, and disassembly. Charge batteries only in the headset or base station. New batteries require 2-3 charge/discharge cycles for full performance. Batteries have a limited lifespan. Do not short-circuit or use damaged batteries/chargers. Store batteries away from heat. Charge within 0°C to +50°C. Avoid overcharging. Remove battery if storing for over a month. Store in a cool, dry place. Dispose of batteries responsibly; do not incinerate or crush.
