Important Safety Instructions
Read this instruction manual carefully before using the appliance. Familiarise yourself with the operation, adjustments, and functions of switches. Internalise and follow the safety and operation instructions to avoid possible risks and hazards.
WARNING - DANGER OF SUFFOCATION! Packaging materials are not toys. Children should not play with the packaging materials, as they pose a risk of swallowing and suffocation!
WARNING! Switch the appliance off, disconnect it from the power supply and let it cool down completely before replacing attachments, moving the appliance, cleaning work, and when not in use.
WARNING - RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK! Protect the appliance and its electrical parts against moisture. Do not immerse the appliance and its electrical parts in water or other liquids to avoid electrical shock. Never hold the appliance under running water. Pay attention to the instructions for cleaning and care. Do not operate the appliance with wet hands or while standing on a wet floor. Do not touch the power plug with wet hands.
WARNING - RISK OF FIRE/FLAMMABLE MATERIALS! This appliance contains flammable refrigerant (R600a).
WARNING - DANGER OF INJURY! Avoid contacting moving parts. Wait until all components have completely stopped before touching them.
This appliance is classified as protection class I and must be connected to a protective ground.
Only use in dry indoor rooms.
Children aged from 3 to 8 years are allowed to load and unload the appliance.
This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
Children shall not play with the appliance.
Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
Regularly check the power plug and power cord for damage. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
Do not store explosive substances such as aerosol cans with a flammable propellant in this appliance.
Foodstuff cannot be safely preserved or stored in the appliance. Transfer the finished yogurt, ice cream, sorbet, etc. to a well-closing container and place it in the refrigerator immediately after the preparation in the appliance is finished.
To avoid contamination of food, please clean regularly surfaces that can come in contact with food and accessible drainage systems.
Refrigerants must be evacuated and disposed of by a qualified specialist in accordance with federal and local regulations before the appliance is scrapped.
CAUTION: Please keep the appliance away from fire or similar glowing substances before you dispose of it.
WARNING: Keep ventilation openings, in the appliance enclosure or in the built-in structure, clear of obstruction.
WARNING: Do not use mechanical devices or other means to accelerate the defrosting process, other than those recommended by the manufacturer.
WARNING: Do not use electrical appliances inside the food storage compartments of the appliance, unless they are of the type recommended by the manufacturer.
WARNING: Do not damage the refrigerant circuit.
Do not use more than 0.6 l of ingredient mixture for each preparation process.
WARNING: When positioning the appliance, ensure the supply cord is not trapped or damaged.
WARNING: Do not locate multiple portable socket-outlets or portable power supplies at the rear of the appliance.
CAUTION: In order to avoid a hazard due to inadvertent resetting of the thermal cut-out, this appliance must not be supplied through an external switching device, such as a timer, or connected to a circuit that is regularly switched on and off by the utility.
This appliance is classified as climate class N (temperate) and is intended to be used at ambient temperatures ranging from 16°C to 32°C.
Never use accessories other than those supplied with the appliance. They could pose a safety risk to the user and might damage the appliance. Only use original parts and accessories.
WARNING! Misuse may lead to injury. Use this appliance solely in accordance with these instructions. Do not attempt to modify the appliance in any way.
DANGER OF ELECTRIC SHOCK! Do not attempt to repair the appliance yourself. In case of malfunction, repairs are to be conducted by qualified personnel only.
Protect the appliance against dust, direct sunlight, dripping and splashing water.
Do not pull the power plug out of the electrical outlet by the power cord and do not wrap the power cord around the appliance.
Always turn the appliance off before disconnecting the power plug.
If the power cord should overheat, stop using the appliance and disconnect the appliance from the electrical outlet.
Always place and operate the appliance on an even, stable and dry surface.
Dry the appliance and all accessories before connecting to the power supply and prior to attaching the accessories.
Connect the mains plug to an easily accessible socket, in order to quickly disconnect the appliance from the mains supply in an emergency.
If you use an extension cord or a multi-socket unit, it must have an appropriate power rating.
Keep a minimum distance of 8 cm on all sides and on top of the appliance to walls or other objects. If the distance is too small, the cooling capacity may be impacted.
Do not place the appliance in direct sunlight or close to any heat sources, as this will hinder the cooling process.
After turning the appliance off, always wait at least 5 minutes until turning it on again. Otherwise, the compressor may be damaged.
To avoid damaging the compressor or refrigerant circuit, never tilt the appliance more than 45°. Never turn the appliance upside down.
IMPORTANT! Allow the appliance to stand upright for at least 24 hours before connecting it to a mains outlet for the first time, so that the refrigerant can settle. The same applies if the appliance is moved at a later date.
If the mixing blade gets stuck, immediately stop operation.
Metal objects are not allowed to be inserted into the appliance to avoid fire and short circuit.
When taking out the finished yogurt, ice cream, sorbet, etc., do not knock against the refrigeration barrel or its edge to protect the barrel from damage.
Do not switch on the appliance before the stainless steel ice cream container and (if necessary for the food type) the mixing blade are properly installed.
The initial temperature of the ingredients should be between 10°C and 20°C. Ingredients with too low temperature can cause uneven mixing through early solidification.
DANGER OF INJURY! Do not try to remove the mixing blade when the appliance is operating.
The Appliance
The appliance is intended for making ice cream, sorbet, frozen yogurt, and yogurt. It is designed for private use and indoor operation only.

Before First Use
- Clean the appliance as described in the "After use" chapter. Let all parts dry thoroughly.
- The appliance is now ready to be used.
Operation
- Pour the well-prepared recipe ingredients into the stainless steel ice cream container, ensuring uniform mixing.
- Place the stainless steel ice cream container into the ice cream machine, aligning the handle's groove with the upper cover's groove.
- Install the transparent lid and motor components.
- Install the mixing blade, transparent lid, and motor components.
- Put the components installed in step 4 into the ice cream machine. Ensure the center of the stainless steel ice cream container's convex hull and the motor components' mixing fan blade are aligned. Lock the components clockwise, ensuring the triangle mark aligns with the "LOCK" mark.
- Plug in the power supply, select the desired mode (Ice Cream, Yogurt, Sorbet, Mixing), and set the working time.
- When the process is finished, the machine will beep and may enter a cooling mode. Turn the transparent lid and motor components anticlockwise to remove them. Align the triangle mark with the unlocking mark to detach the components, then carefully remove the stainless steel ice cream container.
Touch Screen Controls:
- Mixing: Select "MIXING", set time, press START.
- Manually adjustable keep cool mode: Select "COOLING", set time, press START.
- Ice cream / Frozen Yogurt / Sorbet mode: Select "ICE CREAM", set time, press START. The machine will start. After completion or a set time, it may enter cooling mode.
- Yogurt mode: Select "YOGURT", set time (4-24 hours), press START. After completion, it enters cooling mode.
- Keep cool mode: Activates automatically to preserve texture and taste after preparation.
Note: Ensure ingredients do not exceed 60% (0.6 L) capacity. The motor has overload protection. A 3-minute compressor protection time may occur after switching modes.
After Use
Cleaning
Clean the appliance after each use. Unplug and let it cool completely. Do not use abrasive cleaners. Do not immerse the appliance body in water. Clean the appliance body with a soft, damp cloth and mild detergent. Wipe dry with a soft, dry cloth. Clean the mixing blade, lid, spatula, and measuring jug in warm water with a soft sponge and mild detergent. Wipe dry.
Storage
Ensure the appliance is completely dry, cooled down, and clean before storage. Store in a cool, dry place, protected from moisture and out of reach of children. Preferably store in original packaging.
Troubleshooting
- Problem: Difficult to remove the stainless steel ice cream container. Possible Cause: Water drops between the refrigeration barrel and the container. Solution: Wait 3-8 minutes.
- Problem: Transparent lid lifts with the mixing blade. Possible Cause: Mixing blade not properly placed or aligned. Solution: Place mixing blade correctly and align the transparent cover.
- Problem: Stainless steel ice cream container cannot be placed in the refrigeration bowl. Possible Cause: Deformation due to improper use. Solution: Purchase a new stainless steel ice cream container (Art.-Nr. 91729).
- Problem: Mixing blade is scratched or jammed. Possible Cause: Deformation due to improper use. Solution: Purchase a new mixing blade (Art.-Nr. 91730).
Recipes
Yogurt
- Recipe 1: 0.70 L cooled milk / 50 ml cooled yogurt.
- Recipe 2: 0.70 L pure milk / 50 ml cooled yogurt.
- Recipe 3: 0.70 L milk from milk powder / 50 ml cooled yogurt.
- Recipe 4: 0.70 L soybean milk / 50 ml cooled yogurt.
Note: For best results, use yogurt culture. Ensure ingredients are not expired. If using milk powder, follow mixing ratios. Cooked soy milk or milk made from milk powder must be cooled below 40°C before adding yogurt. Fermentation time varies with ambient and ingredient temperature. Maximum 10 hours (14 hours with culture).
Ice Cream
Basic Ice Cream
- 200 g cream
- 120 g powdered milk
- 180 g water
Mix ingredients, pour into container, mix for approx. 60 minutes.
Vanilla Ice Cream
- 226 g whole milk
- 106 g granulated sugar
- 167 g heavy cream, chilled
- 1-2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
Combine milk and sugar, stir in cream and vanilla. Pour into container, mix for approx. 50-60 minutes.
Basic Chocolate Ice Cream
- 160 g whole milk
- 76 g granulated sugar
- 160 g semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
- 160 g heavy cream, chilled
- 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Heat milk. Blend sugar and chocolate until fine. Add hot milk, blend until smooth. Cool mixture. Stir in cream and vanilla. Pour into container, mix for approx. 30-40 minutes.
Fresh Strawberry Ice Cream
- 167 g fresh ripe strawberries, sliced
- 35 g freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 76 g sugar
- 160 g whole milk
- 160 g heavy cream
- 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Combine strawberries with lemon juice and sugar; let sit for 2 hours. Combine milk and sugar, stir in cream and vanilla. Pour into container, mix for approx. 30-40 minutes. Add strawberries during the last 5 minutes.
Sorbet
Fresh Lemon Sorbet
- 235 g granulated sugar
- 280 g water
- 80 g freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1/2 tablespoon finely chopped lemon zest
Combine sugar and water, bring to a boil, simmer until dissolved. Cool completely. Add lemon juice and zest. Pour into container, mix for approx. 50-60 minutes.
Frozen Yogurt
Chocolate Frozen Yogurt
- 160 g whole milk
- 180 g bittersweet or semisweet chocolate, chopped
- 268 g low-fat vanilla yogurt
- 33 g granulated sugar
Combine milk and chocolate in a blender until smooth. Add yogurt and sugar, process until smooth. Pour into container, mix for approx. 50-60 minutes.

Notes for Disposal: Dispose of the appliance and packaging according to local regulations. Do not dispose of electrical appliances as unsorted municipal waste. Contact your local government for collection points. Improper disposal can harm the environment and health.

Gastroback guarantees products are free from defects at the time of purchase. Manufacturing or material defects are covered within 2 years of purchase. Warranty claims are void if the damage is caused by improper treatment, overloading, installation mistakes, or unauthorized technical interference. The purchaser must present the sales slip and bear transport costs.

Unpaid shipments will not be accepted. Pack appliances securely without accessories and include a short fault description. Processing time is approximately 2 weeks. For appliances outside the warranty period, send them to the same address for a quotation. The appliance is intended for household use only and not for commercial usage. Any other use is considered unintended use and can cause severe injuries or damage. There is no warranty claim if injuries or damages are caused by unintended use.
