Important Safety Information
Check Power Voltage Before Use
The JBL BAR 300MK2 is designed for use with 100-240 Volt, 50/60 Hz AC current. Using this product with a voltage not supported by the product may cause safety issues, fire hazards, or damage to the unit. If you have questions about voltage requirements for specific models or your local power voltage, please contact your dealer or customer service before connecting the unit to an outlet.
Do Not Use Extension Cords
To avoid hazards, do not use any power cord other than the one supplied with the unit. Using extension cords with this product is not recommended. As with all electrical appliances, do not run the power cord under carpets or rugs, or place heavy objects on it. If a damaged power cord is supplied, contact an authorized service center immediately for replacement with a factory-authorized equivalent.
Handle the AC Power Cord With Care
When unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, always hold the plug. Never pull the cord. If you do not plan to use this speaker for a long period, unplug the unit from the AC outlet.
Do Not Disassemble the Unit
There are no user-serviceable parts inside this product. Opening the unit may expose you to electric shock, and any modification to the product will void your warranty. If water accidentally enters the unit, immediately disconnect the unit from the AC power source and consult an authorized service center.

To fully utilize the product's features and support, you may need to update the product's software via the internet. Refer to the software update section of this manual to ensure your software is the latest version.

JBL One App
The JBL One app allows you to:
- Easily and perfectly set up your product.
- Connect to music streaming services.
- Discover new music from integrated streaming services.
- Access software updates, if available.
- Customize audio settings.
- Access additional features.

- A separate subscription may be required, and the JBL One app may not be available in your country.

Soundbar
Front/Top Panel

Rear Panel

Remote Control

- 3. Mute Button: Mutes or unmutes the audio.
- 4. Sound Effect Button: Toggles Virtual Dolby Atmos® sound effect ON or OFF (default: ON). Adjusts bass level: 1/2/3 (default)/4/5.
- 5. CALIBR Button: Starts sound calibration.
- 6. Moment Button: Provides direct access to playlists or settings customized via the JBL One app.
- 7. Input Switching:
- TV: Selects TV as the source (default. If audio is input from TV connection, the HDMI OUT (TV ARC/TV eARC) port has priority over the OPTICAL port).
- Bluetooth: Selects Bluetooth source. Press and hold for over 3 seconds to enter Bluetooth pairing mode.
- HDMI: Selects HDMI IN source.
Installation
Placement on Stand
Place the product on a stable, level surface. Refer to the recommended distances in the diagram below.

Notes:
- Connect the power cord correctly to the power source.
- Do not place anything on top of the soundbar.
Wall Mounting

1. Preparation:
- Attach the supplied wall mounting template to the wall with tape.
- Mark the screw hole positions with a pen. Then, remove the template.
- Drill 4mm holes at the marked positions on the wall.
2. Attach the mounting brackets to the wall.
3. Secure the brackets to the bottom of the soundbar with screws.
4. Mount the soundbar onto the wall.
Notes:
- Ensure the wall can support the weight of the soundbar before mounting.
- Do not mount on surfaces other than vertical walls.
- Do not install in high temperature or high humidity environments.
- Before mounting, ensure all cables between the soundbar and external devices are correctly connected.
- Before wall mounting, ensure the soundbar is powered off. Powering it on could cause electric shock.
Connections
TV and Digital Devices Connection
To play audio through the soundbar's speakers, connect the soundbar to your TV using the supplied HDMI cable or an optional optical cable.
HDMI connection allows audio and video output through a single cable. HDMI connection is recommended for this soundbar.
Notes:
- If both HDMI and optical cables are used to connect the TV and soundbar, the HDMI connection will take priority.
- Full compatibility with HDMI-CEC devices is not guaranteed.
- HDMI cables (for digital device connection) and optical cables are sold separately.
TV (HDMI ARC)
(Recommended connection for enjoying Dolby Atmos to the fullest)

1. Connect the TV's HDMI IN (eARC) port to the soundbar using the supplied HDMI cable.
- Check if your TV supports HDMI-CEC and HDMI eARC. Refer to your TV's user manual for details.
TV (HDMI ARC)

1. Connect the TV's HDMI IN (ARC) port to the soundbar using the supplied HDMI cable.
- Check if your TV supports HDMI-CEC and HDMI ARC. Refer to your TV's user manual for details.
2. Use an HDMI cable (V2.0 or later) to connect digital devices such as streaming devices, set-top boxes, DVD/Blu-ray players, or game consoles to your TV.
Notes:
- Check if your digital device supports HDMI-CEC. Refer to each digital device's user manual for details.
- For the best Dolby Atmos experience, select "Bitstream" or "Original Data" for the audio output setting on your TV and digital devices.
- To play audio from digital devices connected to the TV, select the TV source (refer to "7.2 Playback from TV Source").
- The virtual Dolby Atmos design, along with this soundbar's Dolby Surround upmixer, can extend the audio of 5.1 and 7.1 content and Dolby Digital format legacy channels, creating an immersive 3D Atmos experience.
Optical Digital Terminal

1. Connect the soundbar to your TV using an optical cable.
2. Use an HDMI cable (V2.0 or later) to connect digital devices such as streaming devices, set-top boxes, DVD/Blu-ray players, or game consoles to your TV.
Note:
- To play audio via the optical cable, select the TV source (refer to "7.2 Playback from TV Source").
Bluetooth Connection
Connect the soundbar to Bluetooth-enabled devices such as smartphones, tablets, and PCs.

Connecting Bluetooth-Enabled Devices
1. To select the Bluetooth source, press the ∈ button on the soundbar or the ☰ button on the remote control.
→ "BT PAIRING": Ready for Bluetooth pairing.
2. On your Bluetooth-enabled device, enable Bluetooth and search for "JBL BAR 300MK2" within 3 minutes.
→ "BT CONNECTED": Connection successful. A confirmation tone will sound.
Reconnecting to the Last Paired Device
The unit remembers paired Bluetooth-enabled devices even when in standby mode. The next time you switch to the Bluetooth source, the soundbar will automatically reconnect to the last paired device.
Connecting to a Different Bluetooth-Enabled Device
1. To select "BT PAIRING" for the Bluetooth source, press and hold the ∈ button on the soundbar or the ☰ button on the remote control for 3 seconds.
→ The soundbar enters Bluetooth pairing mode.
2. Follow step 2 in "5.2.1 Connecting Bluetooth-Enabled Devices".
Notes:
- If the device was previously paired with the soundbar, first unpair "JBL BAR 300MK2" from the device.
- Bluetooth connection may be lost if the distance between the soundbar and the Bluetooth-enabled device exceeds 10m.
- Nearby electronic devices may cause radio interference. Keep devices that emit electromagnetic waves, such as microwave ovens and wireless LAN devices, away from the soundbar.
Home Network Connection
Using the JBL One app and compatible streaming services (Google Cast, AirPlay, Spotify Connect), you can stream music from your smartphone or tablet to the soundbar.

Wi-Fi Setup Mode
1. Enter Wi-Fi setup mode on the soundbar:
- Press any button to turn on the power (refer to "7.1 Power On/Auto Standby/Auto Wakeup").
- If the soundbar is not connected to the network, the display will show "HELLO", followed by "SETUP WIFI".
2. Connect your Android™ or iOS device to your Wi-Fi home network.
Download the JBL One app.
3. Launch the JBL One app. Follow the app's instructions to complete the Wi-Fi setup.

Notes:
- Solid White Light: The soundbar is connected to your home network.
- You can stream music from the JBL One app or compatible streaming services (refer to "7.5 Playback Using Home Network").
- If the soundbar cannot be found by the JBL One app, press and hold the – and + buttons simultaneously for over 10 seconds to re-enter Wi-Fi setup mode.
- You can rename the soundbar in the JBL One app on Android or iOS devices.
- On iOS devices, you can add the soundbar to the Apple Home app and manage it alongside other AirPlay-compatible speakers.
- On iOS devices, if the soundbar is connected to your Wi-Fi home network, you can initiate AirPlay streaming from AirPlay-compatible apps (refer to "7.5.2 Playback via AirPlay").
- The availability of music streaming services varies by country.
- Some services may require a subscription, or features may not be available depending on your country.
Settings
Power Connection

Connect the soundbar to power using the supplied power cord.
→ The soundbar display will show "LOAD", followed by "HELLO".
Notes:
- Do not use any power cord other than the one supplied.
- Before connecting to power, ensure all other connections (refer to "5.1 TV and Digital Devices Connection") are complete.
3D Surround Sound
Sound Calibration (Room Measurement)
Optimize your 3D surround sound experience according to your listening environment.
1. Press the CALIBR button on the remote control to start calibration.
→ The soundbar will display "CALIBRATION".
2. When "PRESS AGAIN TO CONFIRM" is displayed, press CALIBR again.
→ A countdown from 5 to 1 will begin. Measurement sounds will play, and automatic calibration will start.
→ "CALIBRATING": Calibration in progress.
→ "DONE": Calibration completed successfully.
Notes:
- During sound calibration, all remote control buttons except ∈ are disabled.
- During sound calibration, the microphone records ambient room noise. (US model only: Press and hold CALIBR for over 10 seconds, then press ∈ to play the recorded audio.)
Dolby Atmos
When playing movies from TV/HDMI IN sources, enjoy height-based sound effects with virtual Dolby Atmos.

1. Connect a Blu-ray player or streaming device as described in "5.1 TV and Digital Devices Connection".
2. Press the ●● button on the remote control to turn the height-based sound effects ON or OFF (default: ON).
Notes:
- If you wish to disable the height-based sound effects during movie or music playback, turn the Dolby Atmos sound effect OFF.
- Dolby Atmos sound effects apply only to Dolby Atmos audio content.
Bass Adjustment
You can adjust the bass level to your preference.

• Press the ● button on the remote control to switch the bass level. The display will show "LVL1" through "LVL5" (default: "LVL3").
Playback
Power On/Auto Standby/Auto Wakeup
Power On
To turn on the power, press any button on the soundbar or the ☰ button on the remote control.
Auto Standby
If the soundbar is inactive for more than 10 minutes, it will automatically switch to standby mode. The display will show "STDBY". When you turn on the soundbar for the next use, it will return to the last selected source.
Auto Wakeup
The soundbar will automatically resume from standby mode in the following cases:
- When the TV is turned on, if the soundbar is connected to the TV via HDMI eARC/ARC.
- When a digital device (such as a TV, set-top box, DVD/Blu-ray player, or game console) is turned on, if the soundbar is connected to it via HDMI cable.
- When music is streamed to the soundbar via a music streaming device, if the soundbar is connected to your home network.
Playback from TV Source
Enjoy TV audio through the connected soundbar speakers.

1. Ensure your TV is set to support external speakers and that the TV's internal speakers are muted. Refer to your TV's user manual for details.
2. Confirm that the soundbar is correctly connected to the TV (refer to "5.1 TV and Digital Devices Connection").
3. To select the TV source, press the ∈ button on the soundbar or the TV button on the remote control.
→ "TV": TV source selected.
Note: By default, the TV source is selected.
Note: If both HDMI and optical cables are used to connect the TV and soundbar, the HDMI connection will be selected.
TV Remote Control Settings
HDMI-CEC
To operate the soundbar with your TV remote, ensure your TV supports HDMI-CEC. If your TV does not support HDMI-CEC, follow the procedure for the "IR Command Learning Function for TV Remote".
If your TV supports HDMI-CEC, you can use the functions described in your TV's user manual. With your TV remote, you can control the soundbar's volume (+/-), mute/unmute, and power on/standby functions.
IR Command Learning Function for TV Remote
Through infrared command learning, the soundbar can receive IR commands from your TV remote and be programmed to respond to simple commands using your TV remote.
1. On the soundbar, press and hold the ∈ and + buttons until "LEARNING" is displayed.
→ The soundbar enters TV remote command learning mode.
2. Point your TV remote at the soundbar. Follow the on-screen instructions and operate the buttons on your TV remote:
- When the soundbar displays "POWER", "VOL+", "VOL-", or "MUTE", press the desired button on your TV remote.
- → "DONE": The soundbar has learned these commands.
- → The soundbar returns to the last selected source.
To exit TV remote command learning mode, press and hold the ∈ and + buttons on the soundbar until "EXIT LEARNING" is displayed.
→ The learned functions will be discarded.
Note: If no operation is performed for 30 seconds, the soundbar will automatically exit TV remote command learning mode. The learned functions will be discarded.
Playback from HDMI In Source
By connecting the soundbar as shown in the diagram below, you can output video from digital devices to the TV and play audio from the soundbar.

1. Confirm that the soundbar is correctly connected to the TV and digital devices (refer to "5.1 TV and Digital Devices Connection").
2. Turn on the digital device.
→ The TV and soundbar will resume from standby mode, and the input source will switch automatically.
- To select the HDMI IN source, press the ∈ button on the soundbar or the HDMI button on the remote control.
Note: Full compatibility with HDMI-CEC devices is not guaranteed.
Playback from Bluetooth Source
Stream music from Bluetooth-enabled devices to the soundbar using Bluetooth.

1. To select the Bluetooth source, press the ∈ button on the soundbar or the ☰ button on the remote control.
2. Confirm that the soundbar is correctly connected to the Bluetooth-enabled device (refer to "5.2 Bluetooth Connection").
3. Start music playback on the Bluetooth-enabled device.
4. Adjust the volume using the soundbar, TV remote, or the Bluetooth-enabled device.
Playback Using Home Network
Notes:
- The soundbar supports audio streaming but not video streaming.
- When streaming music via Wi-Fi, if you start music playback on a second connected device, music playback on the currently connected device will pause.
Before you begin, please check the following:
- Your Android or iOS device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the soundbar (refer to "5.3 Home Network Connection").
Google Cast Playback
Stream music from your Android or iOS device to the soundbar via Google Cast.
For Android or iOS Devices:
1. Launch the JBL One app and confirm Google Cast compatibility.

2. Play music in a Google Cast-compatible app, tap the cast icon 🕳️, and select the connected soundbar.
Playback via AirPlay
Stream music from your iOS devices to the soundbar using AirPlay.
For iOS Devices:
1. To access Control Center, swipe down from the top-right corner of the screen.
2. Tap the 🕳️ icon, select the connected speaker(s) as needed, and start audio streaming from the app.
Playback via JBL One App
Stream music from compatible music streaming services to the soundbar via the JBL One app.
For Android or iOS Devices:
- Launch the JBL One app, browse compatible music streaming services, select music, and then start streaming music to the connected soundbar.

Note: A separate subscription may be required, and the JBL One app may not offer services in your country.
Other Usage
Sound Setting (Audio Sync)
If you experience a delay between video and audio with video content, you can adjust it using the audio sync function.
1. On the remote control, press and hold the TV button for over 3 seconds, then press the + button. "SYNC" will be displayed.
2. Within 5 seconds, press the + or – button on the remote control to adjust the audio delay to match the video.
→ The audio sync timing will be displayed.
Note: You can also adjust the audio delay through the JBL One app.
Restore to Factory Default Settings
To restore to factory default settings, press and hold the ∈, +, and – buttons on the remote control for 5 seconds.
→ "RESET" will be displayed.
→ Upon completion of initialization, the soundbar will restart automatically.
Software Update

Connect the soundbar to your home network. If a software update is available, it will be performed automatically online.
- → "WAIT": Software update in progress.
- → "DONE": Software update complete.
Switching Dual Audio Broadcast
Switch audio for broadcasts that include dual audio signals.
- On the remote control, press and hold the TV button for over 5 seconds, then press the ♡ (Moment) button to select the audio mode:
- → "STEREO" (default: primary audio channel + secondary audio channel)
- → "L MONO" (left audio channel)
- → "R MONO" (right audio channel)

Troubleshooting
Do not attempt to repair the product yourself. If you encounter problems during product use, please check the following points.
System
Unit does not power on.
- Check that the power cord is plugged into the power source and the soundbar.
Buttons do not respond.
- Restore the soundbar to factory default settings (refer to "8.2 Restore to Factory Default Settings").
Sound
No sound from the soundbar.
- Check that the soundbar is not muted.
- Select the correct audio input source using the remote control.
- Ensure the soundbar is correctly connected to the TV or other device.
- Restore the soundbar to factory default settings (refer to "8.2 Restore to Factory Default Settings").
Sound is distorted or sounds like an echo.
- If playing TV audio through the soundbar, check if the TV is muted and if audio is being output from the TV's speakers.
Audio and video are not synchronized.
- Enable the audio sync function to synchronize audio and video (refer to "8.1 Sound Setting (Audio Sync)").
Dolby Atmos height effects are not working.
- If your TV only supports HDMI ARC, ensure that digital devices are connected to the soundbar via the soundbar's HDMI IN port (refer to "5.1.2 TV (HDMI ARC)").
- When playing movies from TV/HDMI sources, you can enjoy Dolby Atmos sound effects. Dolby Atmos is not supported for playback via Bluetooth or casting apps (Google Cast or AirPlay).
Bluetooth
Cannot connect a device to Bluetooth.
- Check if Bluetooth is enabled on the device.
- If the soundbar was previously paired with another Bluetooth-enabled device, reset Bluetooth (refer to "5.2.3 Connecting to a Different Bluetooth-Enabled Device").
- If the Bluetooth-enabled device was previously paired with the soundbar, reset the soundbar's Bluetooth to unpair the soundbar and the Bluetooth-enabled device, then re-pair the Bluetooth-enabled device and the soundbar (refer to "5.2.3 Connecting to a Different Bluetooth-Enabled Device").
Poor sound quality from connected Bluetooth devices.
- Bluetooth reception may be poor. Move the source device closer to the soundbar, or ensure there are no obstructions between the source device and the soundbar.

Wi-Fi
Failed to connect to Wi-Fi.
- Check that Wi-Fi is powered on.
- Check that the network selection and password entry are correct.
- Check that the router or modem is powered on and within range.
- Check that the router settings use WPA2 or automatic security type.
- Ensure the soundbar is connected to the same wireless LAN as your smartphone or tablet.
- If Wi-Fi setup is difficult, press and hold the + and – buttons on the soundbar until "SETUP WIFI" is displayed, then re-enter Wi-Fi setup mode.
Playback
AirPlay Issues
AirPlay cannot find the soundbar as a music streaming AirPlay speaker.
- Update your Apple device's software to the latest version: iOS 13.4 or later, macOS 10.15.4 or later, or tvOS 14.3.
- Ensure your Apple device is connected to the same network as the soundbar.
- If using Windows, you can stream music from your PC to the soundbar via Bluetooth using iTunes.
Issues Switching Bluetooth to Google Cast or AirPlay, or Resuming Playback
- When switching sound sources from Bluetooth to Google Cast or AirPlay, music playback may not be smooth.
- The quality of cast playback depends on the network congestion and coverage between the soundbar and the sending device (smartphone, tablet, PC).
When switching sound sources from Bluetooth to TV/HDMI IN, and then back to Bluetooth, music playback may not resume.
- When switching sound sources from Bluetooth to TV/HDMI IN, music playback on the Bluetooth-enabled device will stop. If you switch back to the Bluetooth source, you will need to restart music playback on the Bluetooth-enabled device.
Remote Control
Remote control is not working.
- Check if the battery is depleted. If so, replace it with a new battery.
- Move the remote control closer to the soundbar or adjust the angle.
TV remote control command learning failed.
- Check if your TV remote control uses infrared (IR) signals. The IR command learning function does not support Bluetooth TV remotes.
