Operating Instructions
- Place the panini press on a dry, stable, and heat-resistant surface, away from flammable materials.
- Plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet. The red Power Light ? will illuminate.
- Close the lid and allow the appliance to preheat. This typically takes 3-5 minutes. The green Ready Light ? will illuminate when the appliance has reached the correct temperature.
- While the appliance is preheating, prepare your sandwich or panini. Lightly grease the heating plates if desired, though the non-stick coating usually suffices.
- Carefully open the lid using the handle. Place your sandwich or panini onto the bottom heating plate.
- Gently close the lid. Do not force it down; allow the weight of the lid to press the sandwich.
- Cook for 3-7 minutes, or until the sandwich is golden brown and toasted, and the cheese (if used) is melted. Cooking time will vary depending on the type of bread, fillings, and desired crispiness.
- Carefully open the lid. Use a spatula or tongs (not metal, to protect the non-stick surface) to remove the cooked food.
- If cooking multiple items, allow the appliance to reheat to the correct temperature (the green light will re-illuminate) before adding the next sandwich.
- When finished cooking, unplug the appliance from the wall outlet. The red Power Light ? will turn off.
- Allow the appliance to cool down completely before cleaning.
Cleaning and Maintenance
- Ensure the appliance is unplugged and completely cool before cleaning.
- Wipe the exterior surfaces with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as they can damage the finish.
- Clean the non-stick heating plates by wiping them with a damp cloth or sponge. For stubborn residue, use a soft brush or plastic scraper. Never use metal utensils.
- If the drip tray is present, remove it and wash it with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly before reinserting.
- Never immerse the appliance or its cord in water or any other liquid.
- Store the appliance in a cool, dry place.
