This portable device features a 2.5-inch HD Touchscreen and supports wireless CarPlay, Android Auto, MirrorLink, Bluetooth 5.0, TF Audio, FM, and Siri functionality for your car.
The device is compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, indicated by their respective logos.
Device Overview and Basic Operation
The device features various ports and controls:
- Light Sensor: Automatically adjusts screen brightness based on ambient light.
- External Microphone Jack: 3.5mm input for an external microphone.
- SD Card Slot: For TF Audio playback.
- Camera Input: 2.5mm jack for connecting a camera.
- Audio Output: 3.5mm jack for audio output.
- USB Port: 5V 2.1A for data connection and charging.
- DC Power Input: 12V-24V 2.5A.
- Speaker: 405W output.
Power On/Off and Interface Switching
- To Power On: Briefly press the power button.
- To Power Off: Press the power button twice in quick succession (long press), release, then long press again.
- Volume Control: After powering on, a short press of the power button opens the volume control.
- CarPlay/Android Auto Interface Switching: Long press the power button to switch between CarPlay and Android Auto interfaces.
The device's display shows a user interface with icons for Phone, Music, Maps, Messages, Now Playing, CarHome, Audiobooks, Calendar, Settings, and NetEase Music.
CarPlay Connectivity (for iOS Phones)
Wired CarPlay Connection
To use CarPlay via a wired connection, use a high-quality Apple data cable to connect your iPhone to the USB port of this product. Follow the instructions displayed on your iPhone to confirm usage.
Note: When using CarPlay via a cable, a connection to the car radio's Wi-Fi or Bluetooth is not required. However, it is crucial to use a high-quality data cable to ensure connection stability.
Wireless CarPlay Connection
To use wireless CarPlay, please pair your iPhone via Bluetooth. The Bluetooth name of the car radio is "carpuride-xxxx". Follow the prompts on your iPhone to connect. Please ensure the Bluetooth device is visible before connecting and complete the connection within 5 minutes.
You can access Bluetooth function settings on the device's interface.
Wireless CarPlay Setup Steps (iPhone):
- Your iPhone searches for Bluetooth devices, specifically "carpuride-xxxx" for pairing.
- On your iPhone, click "Pair" when prompted.
- Click "Allow" to permit access for contacts and favorites synchronization.
- Click "Use CarPlay" to enable the feature.
- Ensure CarPlay is turned on in your device settings.
Wi-Fi Connection for Wireless CarPlay (iPhone):
First, ensure the car radio's Wi-Fi is turned on.
- On your iPhone, search for and select the Wi-Fi network named "carpuride-xxxx" to connect.
- Enter the password "66666666" and click "Join".
- The connection should now be successful.
Important Note: CarPlay and MirrorLink cannot be used simultaneously. If you wish to connect a different iPhone to CarPlay, the currently connected iPhone must first "Forget This Car" in its CarPlay settings (Settings > General > CarPlay > carpuride-xxxx > Forget This Car).
AirPlay Mirror Link (for iOS Phones)
AirPlay is a screen mirroring function for iOS devices that supports both wired and wireless screen projection.
Wired AirPlay Mirror Link
Before using AirPlay, please set your Apple device to "iOSMirror" in its settings. Use a high-quality Apple data cable to connect your iPhone to the USB port of this product. Then, follow the iPhone's "Trust" authorization instructions.
Wireless AirPlay Mirror Link
The AirPlay function of the wireless car radio supports both wired and wireless connections.
Note: Most smartphones are compatible with YouTube. If you experience audio but no video, this indicates an incompatibility with the specific application, such as Netflix or Hulu.
Android Auto Connectivity (for Android Phones)
Wired Android Auto Connection
To use Android Auto via a wired connection, use a high-quality Android data cable to connect your Android phone to the USB port of this product. Follow the instructions displayed on your phone to confirm usage.
Note: When using Android Auto via a cable, a connection to the car radio's Wi-Fi or Bluetooth is not required. Use a high-quality data cable to ensure a stable connection.
Wireless Android Auto Connection
To connect your Android phone to the wireless Carpuride screen, first open the Wi-Fi settings on your phone and search for connected devices. Look for "carpuride-xxxx". The corresponding password will be displayed automatically once found. Click "Pair", and after a successful connection, "Active" will be displayed.
Wireless Android Auto Setup Steps (Android):
Ensure the car radio's Wi-Fi is turned on.
- On your Android phone, find the connected devices in Wi-Fi settings.
- Add a new device, "carpuride-xxxx".
- Click "Pair" when prompted.
- The device "carpuride-xxxx" should now be active.
Alternatively, for Wi-Fi connection:
- In Wi-Fi settings, find "carpuride-xxxx".
- Enter the password "66666666".
- Click "Yes" to confirm.
- The device should now be successfully connected.
Important Note: Android Auto and Autolink cannot coexist. If you wish to connect a different Android phone to Android Auto, the currently connected Android phone must first "ignore" Android Auto in its settings.
Bluetooth Functions
Bluetooth Call Function
The Bluetooth Call function is available for both Android and iOS phones. This function can only be used before connecting to other systems. If other connected systems are active, this function will be deactivated.
The device's interface for calls includes a numeric keypad, history, contacts, and music options.
Bluetooth Music Function
The Bluetooth Music function is for playing music from Android phones or iOS devices via Bluetooth. This function can only be used before other connected systems are active. If other connected systems are in use, this function will be deactivated.
Music playback controls include:
- Previous/Next song.
- Pause/Resume playback.
- Single loop (repeat current song).
The music interface displays track information, such as "I Miss You" by Adele, with playback controls.
Adjusting Screen Brightness
The device features a light-sensitive design that automatically adjusts screen brightness according to ambient light conditions.
To manually control brightness, click the small sun icon ☀️ in the upper right corner of the screen to toggle the light sensor function on or off. If the light sensor function is off, you must manually adjust the screen brightness using the slider control.
Note: Due to its high light sensitivity, the light sensor may be easily affected by external car lights and streetlights during dusk and night, causing the screen brightness to fluctuate between bright and dark. Therefore, Carpuride recommends turning off the light sensor function during dusk and night and manually adjusting the screen to a suitable brightness.
The main interface for settings includes options for i-Play, A-Auto, Airplay, Autolink, Bluetooth, USB, Card, FM Trans, and Settings, along with an equalizer (EQ) and brightness control.
