Description
The EU-294 room regulator is designed for controlling heating or cooling devices (e.g., gas, oil, or electric furnaces, or CH boiler controllers). It maintains a pre-set temperature by signaling the heating/cooling device to open/close contact when the desired temperature is reached.
- EU-294 v1: Features a built-in voltage-free contact and communicates via wire.
- EU-294 v2: Uses a radio signal to communicate with the EU-290 M1 module, which is connected to the heating device.
Installation
The controller should be installed by a qualified person.
WARNING: Risk of fatal electric shock from touching live connections. Switch off the power supply before working on the controller and prevent accidental switching on.
WARNING: Incorrect wire connection may damage the controller!
Installation Steps:
- Remove the mounting base.
- Take out the terminal block.
- Connect the wire to the terminal block.
- Insert the terminal block into the regulator.
Note for EU-294 v2: If there is no communication (e.g., due to a low battery), the receiver automatically deactivates the heating device after 15 minutes.
How to Use the Controller
The controller has the following components:
- 1. Display
- 2. PLUS button
- 3. MINUS button
- 4. Icon:
- Flashing: The set temperature has not been reached.
- Highlighted: The set temperature has been reached.
The EU-294 v2 room regulator is sold with the EU-290 M1 wireless module.
EU-290 M1 Wireless Module Indicators:
- 1. Green control light 1: Indicates data reception, lights up during channel change.
- 2. Red control light: Indicates receiver operation.
- 3. Green control light 2: Lights up when the room temperature fails to reach the pre-set temperature (heating device is switched on).
- 4. Channel change button
How to Change Communication Channel
Ensure the same communication channel is selected on the room regulator and the EU-290 M1 wireless module. The default channel is "35".
- STEP 1: Press and hold the channel change button on the EU-290 M1 wireless module (under the cover) until the green control light 1 illuminates.
- STEP 2: Press the channel change button on the room regulator (on the back).
- STEP 3: Use the PLUS and MINUS buttons to select the desired communication channel. The change is confirmed when the number stops flashing (approx. 3 seconds after the last change). The green control light on the EU-290 M1 should turn off, indicating a successful channel change.
Description of Functions Available in the Menu
To enter the controller menu, press and hold the PLUS and MINUS buttons simultaneously. Use these buttons to switch between menu options.
- Select Operation Mode:
The 'OUT' function allows selection between heating ('HEA') and cooling ('Coo') modes. After selecting 'OUT', the screen flashes, then displays available modes. Use PLUS/MINUS to select and wait 3 seconds to confirm. The display then shows the temperature setting screen for adjustment.
Note: This option is available only for the ST-294v1 regulator.
- T1/T2 Min/max Parameters of Pre-set Temperature:
Set the minimum (T1) and maximum (T2) values for the pre-set temperature. After selecting this function, the screen flashes. Use PLUS/MINUS to select the value. It confirms automatically after 3 seconds.
- Auto-lock:
The 'LOC' function activates the key lock. After selection, the screen flashes, and the user is prompted to activate the lock (yes/no). Use PLUS/MINUS to select and wait 2 seconds to confirm. When active, keys lock after 10 seconds of inactivity. To unlock, press and hold PLUS and MINUS buttons. The 'Ulc' message indicates the keys are unlocked.
- Software Version:
The 'VER' option displays the current software version.
- Factory Settings:
The 'DEFS' function restores factory settings. After selection, the screen flashes, and the user is prompted to restore settings (yes/no). Use PLUS/MINUS to select and wait 3 seconds to confirm.
- Exit the Menu:
Selecting the 'Ret' option flashes the screen for 2 seconds and exits the menu.
- Hysteresis:
Hysteresis defines the pre-set temperature tolerance to prevent oscillations from small temperature fluctuations (range: 0.2 ÷ 4°C). Example: Pre-set temperature: 23°C, Hysteresis: 1°C. The room temperature is considered too low when it drops to 22°C. To set hysteresis, press and hold PLUS and MINUS simultaneously for about 1 minute. Use the buttons to set the value. The change is confirmed when the temperature stops flashing (approx. 3 seconds after the last change).
- Battery:
The 'Bat' function allows monitoring of the battery level in percent. After selection, the screen flashes, and the battery level is displayed.
- Calibration:
The 'Cal' function allows sensor calibration within the range of -10°C to +10°C. After selection, the screen flashes, and the calibration setting is displayed. Use PLUS and MINUS to edit the value.
