ElektroProg OUTDOOR HCN0023: Weekly Electronic Outdoor Timer

Introduction

Please read the following instructions carefully before connecting this timer to electrical appliances and keep during warranty limit.

Do not plug in an appliance where the load exceeds 16 Amp and / or 3600W. Always ensure the plug of any appliance is fully inserted into the timer outlet. If cleaning of the timer is required, remove from mains power and wipe timer with a dry cloth. Do not immerse timer in water or any other liquid. Heaters and similar appliances should never be left unattended during operation.

Button Definitions

General Button Functions:

  • MASTER CLEAR: Clear all data in memory including current time and all programs.
  • RANDOM: Set or cancel random function.
  • CLOCK: Set current time combined with buttons WEEK, HOUR, MIN. Select 12 or 24 hour mode combined with button TIMER. Activate summertime function combined with button ON/AUTO/OFF.
  • TIMER: Set programs combined with buttons WEEK, HOUR, MIN. Select 12 or 24 hour mode combined with button CLOCK.
  • ON/AUTO/OFF: Select operating modes of timer.
  • WEEK: Set week combined with button CLOCK or TIMER.
  • HOUR: Set hour combined with button CLOCK or TIMER.
  • MIN: Set minute combined with button CLOCK or TIMER.
  • RST/RCL: Override programs or recall the overridden programs.

Initial Operation

Step 1: Charging the Battery

Plug the timer into a regular 230 Volts power outlet and turn the power on. Leave for approximately 14 hours to charge the memory back-up battery.

Step 2: Clearing Data

Clear all current information by pressing the MASTER CLEAR button with a sharp object such as a pen or pencil after charging.

Step 3: Setup Ready

The timer is now ready to be set up for use.

Setting Current Time

Press and hold the CLOCK button, then simultaneously press the WEEK button until the correct day is displayed. Release both buttons. Continue by pressing the HOUR or MIN button until the current hour or minute is displayed.

If there is a problem, repeat this setting operation.

Setting Programs

Setting an ON time:

  1. Press the TIMER button and release. The LCD will show "ON_1".
  2. Press the WEEK button to select the day or block of days. Set the desired ON time by pressing the HOUR and MIN buttons.

Setting an OFF time:

  1. Press the TIMER button again to finish the first ON setting and enter the first OFF setting. The LCD will show "OFF_1". Set the desired OFF time by pressing the HOUR and MIN buttons.
  2. Press the TIMER button again to finish the first OFF setting.
  3. Once your programming is complete, press the CLOCK button. The timer is ready to operate.
  4. Repeat steps 1 to 4 to set programs 2 through 10.

ON/AUTO/OFF Modes

Operating modes cannot be changed during program settings.

Press the ON/AUTO/OFF button to cycle through the three modes:

  • ON: The timer is active, keeping the connected appliance constantly powered ON, overriding any programmed settings.
  • AUTO: The timer operates according to the programmed ON/OFF times.
  • OFF: The timer is completely inactive, keeping the connected appliance permanently OFF, overriding any programmed settings.

Note: When the mode is changed from MANUAL ON to AUTO, the timer will maintain the MANUAL ON state until the next scheduled timer event.

Random Function

Activate the Random function by pressing the RANDOM button. The LCD will display "R".

When this function is active, programmed ON/OFF times will be executed every 30 minutes randomly between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM.

Press the RANDOM button again to cancel this function.

12/24 Hour Mode

Hold down the CLOCK button and press the TIMER button to switch between 12-hour and 24-hour time formats.

Summertime Function (Daylight Saving Time)

To set for Daylight Saving Time: Press and hold CLOCK and press ON/AUTO/OFF simultaneously. The LCD will display "S" on the right side, indicating the clock has advanced by 1 hour.

To revert to Standard Time: Press and hold CLOCK and press ON/AUTO/OFF simultaneously again. The "S" indicator will disappear, and the clock will move back by 1 hour.
