Brand: Bialetti
Product Presentation
The Bialetti Mukka Express is a unique coffee maker designed for preparing both espresso coffee and creamy cappuccino. It can also be used to make cafè latte by adjusting the button position.
Initial Use:
- Ensure the product is not damaged and all components are present and correctly assembled.
- It is recommended to make and discard at least three pots of coffee before first use to prepare the product. The more you use it, the better the coffee will be.
- Always follow the instructions and respect the indicated levels for liquids and coffee.
Components: The Mukka Express consists of a Lid, Knob, Handle, Upper part, Button Pressure valve, Filter plate, Gasket seal, Funnel filter (with spring system), Heater unit, Funnel gasket seal, and Safety inspection valve.
The operation for cappuccino requires the button to be in the 'down' position, while cafè latte uses the 'up' position.
Instructions for Use
How to Prepare CAPPUCCINO (button down)
1. Fill with Water:
- For Gas Stoves: Fill the heater unit with water up to level 1, indicated by the "WATER LEVEL FOR GAS" marking, which corresponds to the lowest reference notch inside the heater unit.
- For Electric or Ceramic Hot Plates: Fill the heater unit with water up to level 2, indicated by the "WATER LEVEL FOR ELECTRIC PLATE" marking, which is approximately 2-3 millimetres above the reference notch for gas.
2. Add Coffee: Insert the funnel filter into the heater unit. Fill the funnel filter only with ground Espresso coffee. Do not press the coffee down and ensure no coffee grounds are left on the edges of the funnel filter or heater unit.
3. Assemble Upper Part: Screw the upper part onto the heater unit tightly, but avoid putting pressure on the handle.
4. Add Milk: Open the lid and pour milk into the upper part up to the reference notch. It is essential to use only milk.
5. Prepare for Heating: Close the lid and press the button down.
6. Heat the Coffee Maker: Place the Mukka Express on the stove.
- Gas: Use a medium-high flame that does not exceed the outside of the heater unit. Product performance is best when preparation time (from stove to froth) is 3-4 minutes.
- Electric or Ceramic Plate: Use a plate diameter suitable for the coffee maker (max. 150 mm). Start with a cold plate and use medium-high heat. Performance is best when preparation time (from stove to froth) is 5-10 minutes. Adjust plate power accordingly.
7. Froth Production: As the coffee heats, the pressure valve will automatically rise, making a characteristic puffing noise. The coffee will rise, followed by froth production. Froth production typically takes 10-15 seconds after the valve rises. For a hotter cappuccino, you can leave the product on the stove for up to 1 minute after it is made.
8. Serve: Raise the lid, distribute the liquid and froth with a teaspoon.
How to Prepare CAFÈ LATTE (button up)
The process is similar to preparing a cappuccino, with a key difference in the water level and button position.
1. Fill with Water: Fill the heater unit with water up to the valve level.
2. Add Coffee: Insert the funnel filter and fill only with ground Espresso coffee. Do not press the coffee down and ensure no grounds are left on the edges.
3. Assemble Upper Part: Screw the upper part onto the heater unit tightly, without pressing the handle.
4. Add Milk: Open the lid and pour milk into the upper part up to the reference notch. Only milk should be used.
5. Prepare for Heating: Put the product on the stove with the button in the raised position.
6. Heat the Coffee Maker: Place the Mukka Express on the stove. Use a medium-high flame (for gas) or medium-high heat (for electric plate) that does not exceed the heater unit's base. Keep the lid closed during use.
