The maximum mounting surface thickness is 37 mm. A single 35mm hole is required for installation.
Braided Flexible Hoses Inspection: Braided flexible hoses require inspection every 12 months for signs of failure such as bulging, rust spots, wear, moisture, snapped threads, kinking, water staining, or general corrosion/discolouration. Any mixer tails showing these warning signs must be replaced immediately. ⚠️
Installation Steps
- Remove the product from packaging and check for damage. Do not install if damaged; return to the store of purchase.
- The WELS compliant aerator is pre-assembled. The flow regulator must remain in place to comply with WELS.
- Ensure all product components are present as per the exploded drawing.
- A single 35mm hole is required in the mounting surface.
- The maximum mounting surface thickness is 37 mm.
- Ensure the bench sealing washer (A) is in place on the base of the mixer.
- Firmly screw the Mixer Tails (C) into the mixer base, taking care to avoid damaging the O-ring seals. The Mixer Tails are colour-coded (red for hot, blue for cold), and the mixer base inlet holes are marked with 'H' for hot and 'C' for cold, or with red/blue marks. Hand tighten only.
- Screw the Threaded Rod (D) into the mixer base.
- Feed the Mixer Tails (C) and Braided Hose (L) through the mounting surface, alternating tails. Feed the Braided Hose through the mounting surface and the Stabiliser Plate (B). Position the mixer on the mounting surface, ensuring the Dress Ring (A) and Stabiliser Plate (B) are correctly placed.
- Slide the Rubber Horse Shoe (E) onto the Threaded Inlet Tube (D), followed by the Metal Horse Shoe Plate (F). Position the Mixer Tails towards the user and the Fixing/Inlet tube towards the back.
- Use the Fixing Nut (G) to tighten the mixer to the mounting surface.
- Screw the Dual Check Valve (H) to the end of the Inlet Tube (D), ensuring the sealing washer (I) is in place.
- Screw the male threaded end of the Braided Hose (L) into the Hose Dual Check Valve (H), ensuring the sealing washer (J) is in place.
- Connect the Mixer Tails to the mains water 1/2" stop cock. Tighten to 10Nm; do NOT overtighten.
- Ensure the Mixer Tails are not kinked, bent, stretched, or twisted when connecting to the mains water supply. The connection must have a natural curve (minimum bend radius 30 mm). Ensure Mixer tails are installed indoors, above-ground, and remain accessible – do not bury, submerge, or install behind walls, floors, or ceilings. Avoid exposure to abrasions or corrosive agents. Test for leaks; retighten slightly if a leak occurs.
- It is recommended that In-Line filters be installed to ensure a cleaner flow of water to the mixer.
- The Braided Mixer Hose (L) will have a natural curve under the mounting surface. Fit the Return Weight (M) using the provided screws approximately 100mm up from the bottom of the curve on the hand piece side. The position can be adjusted, but the weight must remain on the hand piece side of the curve.
- Pull the hand piece (K) out from the mixer to test hose extension. Release the hand piece (K) to ensure it returns accurately back into the mixer cradle.
Care and Maintenance
Clean the mixer with a soft cloth and warm soapy water as necessary. Rinse and dry thoroughly after cleaning.
Under no circumstances should abrasive or acid-based cleaning products be used, as these can damage the finish, cartridge, seals, and mixer aerator. ❌
