About Your Thermostat

The BHT-8000RF is suitable for electric heating, water heating, wall-hung boilers, and boiler temperature control systems. It can be used in smart homes, shopping malls, and industrial sites. Before use, confirm the specific model and corresponding heating equipment. Refer to the wiring diagram or contact the merchant for model identification. Note: The USB and Battery used in the display panel cannot be powered simultaneously; select one.

Wiring

The thermostat supports various wiring configurations for different heating systems:

  • Power Supply: 95~220V, 50/60Hz.
  • Maximum Load: 16A for electric heating film, cable, tile; 3A for water valve actuator; 3A for wall-hung boiler.

Wiring Diagrams Description:

GA: Connects to Water Heating (3A load). Shows L, N for power and L1, N1 for Load.

GB: Connects to Electric Heating (16A load). Shows L, N for power and L1, N1 for Load.

GC: Connects to Dry Contact Gas/Water Boiler (3A load). Shows L, N for power and L1, N1 for Load (Dry Contact).

GAB: Combines Electric Heating and Water Heating. Shows connections for both.

GBC: Combines Electric Heating and Dry Contact Gas/Water Boiler. Shows connections for both.

GAC: Connects to Floor Water Heating and Dry Contact Gas/Water Boiler (Water heating only applies to NC valves). Shows connections for both.

Note: For GAC, the water heating connection is only for normally closed (NC) valves.

Installation

Wall-mounted installation steps:

  1. Remove the battery cover.
  2. Install 2*AA batteries.
  3. Install the battery cover.
  4. Fix the non-marking hook on the wall, then hang the product.

Before Wiring and Installing:

  1. Confirm product suitability for your heating equipment.
  2. Ensure power is off before installation or maintenance.
  3. Strictly follow the wiring diagram.
  4. Ensure the wall mounting is secure.
  5. Do not pull cables forcefully to avoid product damage.
  6. Pre-bend hard plastic wires to an appropriate angle.
  7. Arrange for professional installation.
  8. Contact after-sales service for equipment failure; do not attempt self-repair.
  9. After installation, review this manual to ensure normal safety.

Home Screen Quick Reference

The home screen displays various information and controls:

  • Status Indicators: Heating [heating-symbol], Unfreezing [snowflake-symbol], Weather [weather-symbol].
  • Temperature Readings: Room Temperature [thermometer-symbol], Set Temperature [target-temperature-symbol].
  • Other Information: Outdoor Humidity [humidity-symbol], Outdoor Wind Speeds [wind-symbol], Low Battery Warning [low-battery-warning-symbol].
  • Controls: Power On/Off [power-symbol], Mode [mode-symbol], Clock [clock-symbol], Up [up-arrow-symbol], Down [down-arrow-symbol].
  • Modes: Manual Mode [manual-mode-symbol], Programmable Mode [programmable-mode-symbol].
  • Time/Schedule: Period [period-symbol], Week [week-symbol], Time Display [time-display-symbol].

Wi-Fi Version Specifics:

  • Displays weather information after connecting to the internet (data uploads after 3-4 minutes of operation). Weather updates every 30 minutes.
  • Pressing the [up-arrow-symbol] or [down-arrow-symbol] key displays current humidity information in the upper left corner.

Display Panel Operation

  1. Power: Press the [power-symbol] to control the display panel's power. Note: When powered by battery, the panel enters energy-saving state after 20 seconds of inactivity, locking the APP. Click the APP to unlock. When powered by USB, the APP remains unlocked. The panel uses 2*AA batteries; a [low-battery-warning-symbol] indicates low voltage, requiring battery replacement.
  2. Manual & Programming Mode: Press the [mode-symbol] to switch between Manual Mode (user sets temperature) and Programming Mode (thermostat controls according to preset values).
  3. Temperature Set: Press [up-arrow-symbol] or [down-arrow-symbol] to set the temperature. This is only possible in Manual Mode.
  4. Time Set: Press the [clock-symbol] to enter time setting. Use [up-arrow-symbol] / [down-arrow-symbol] to adjust minutes, hours, and days (1=Monday, 2=Tuesday, etc.). Press [clock-symbol] again to exit. Wi-Fi Version: Local network time synchronizes automatically upon first network connection.
  5. Programming Set: Wi-Fi Version: Set via the APP. Non-Wi-Fi Version: Press the [mode-symbol] four times to enter programming mode. The screen displays (MON.TUE.WED.THU.FRI). The "minute" of the time flashes, indicating Period 1. Press again to select and set hour, temperature, and period. Use [up-arrow-symbol] / [down-arrow-symbol] to adjust values. Press once more to confirm and exit.

Receiver Operation

  1. Power: Press the "left button" [left-arrow-symbol] to control the receiver's power. The Power light indicates ON; off indicates OFF.
  2. Code Matching: When the receiver is ON, press and hold the "right button" [right-arrow-symbol] to enter code matching between the display panel and receiver. The "IP Setting" [wifi-symbol] will flash red. Refer to "Setting the Functions and Options" for details.
  3. Wi-Fi Configuration: When the receiver is OFF, long press the "right button" [right-arrow-symbol]. The receiver enters Wi-Fi network configuration state. The Wi-Fi light flashes quickly (AP mode) or slowly (EP mode). Refer to the Wi-Fi connection process for details.

Setting the Functions and Options

When the display panel is OFF, press and hold the [power-symbol] and [mode-symbol] buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds to enter advanced settings. Press [mode-symbol] to select a function, and [up-arrow-symbol] / [down-arrow-symbol] to adjust the value. Settings take effect after restarting the thermostat.

Note: Items 1, 2, and 3 in "Setting the Functions and Options" are for code matching between the display panel and receiver.

Code Matching Connection Steps:

  1. Set the first item to '1'.
  2. Set the second item to the thermostat's serial number (0-99). Ensure serial numbers differ between paired thermostats.
  3. The third item does not require setting.

After completing these operations on the display panel, turn the receiver ON and press and hold its right button for 5 seconds. The "IP Setting" [wifi-symbol] will flash red, indicating code matching start. A steady red light indicates completion. Check the 3rd item in the advanced options on the display panel; '1' indicates successful code matching.

About Wi-Fi & Wi-Fi Connection

Note: Wi-Fi link process requires the display panel and receiver to be code-matched first.

Before first use, configure Wi-Fi signals and settings via your smartphone or tablet to enable communication between connected devices.

Step 1: Download Your APP

Search for "Smartlife" in the Apple Store or Google Play, or scan the QR code [qr-code-symbol] (Figure 1-1, 1-2 for iOS, 1-3 for Android) to download. Complete account registration and installation following the APP's guidance.

Step 2: Connect the Thermostat

Follow the tutorial below to complete connection and setup.

Method 1: Scan QR Code to Configure Network (Figure 2.1-2.3)

Scan the QR code [qr-code-symbol] to configure the network.

Method 2: Ordinary Distribution Network Guidance (Figure 2.1 & 2.3.1)

Network distribution modes:

  1. EZ Mode: With the receiver OFF, press and hold the "right button" [right-arrow-symbol] until the Wi-Fi light flashes quickly. Operate as shown in Figures 2.4-2.7.
  2. AP Mode: With the receiver OFF, press and hold the "right button" [right-arrow-symbol] until the Wi-Fi light flashes slowly. Operate as shown in Figures 2.8-2.14. After connecting to the hotspot, return to the "Smartlife" APP.

More Settings (App Interface)

The Smartlife app offers various controls and settings:

  • Modify the thermostat name.
  • View the thermostat's virtual ID.
  • Connect to smart voice assistants.
  • Share the thermostat with family members.
  • Group multiple thermostats for management.
  • Access other settings like Energy saving [leaf-symbol] mode, Button lock [lock-symbol], Target temperature [target-temperature-symbol], etc.
