1. Safety Instructions

Caution: Keep the device away from children.

Strangulation hazard: Keep this cord out of the reach of children (more than 3ft (0.9m) away). Never use extension cords with AC Adapters. Only use the AC Adapters provided.

Choking hazard: This product contains small parts, please be careful when unpack and assemble the product.

Read and keep to instructions: All the safety and operating instructions should be read before the video baby monitor is operated. This product cannot replace responsible adult supervision.

Water and moisture: The unit should not be exposed to rain, moisture, dripping or splashing. No objects filled with liquid should be placed on top of, or beside the product, such as a glass or vase. This item should not be used near water.

Do not: Attempt to repair or adjust any of the electrical or mechanical functions of the unit. Otherwise, the guarantee will be made void.

Ventilation: This baby monitor should not be used on a bed, sofa, rug or similar surface that may block the ventilation openings, or be placed in an enclosed area such as a bookcase or drawer that may impede air flow.

Keep away from sources of heat: This unit should not be exposed to direct heat sources such as a candle, radiator, heat register, stove or other appliance that emits heat. The unit should not be left in direct sunlight.

Power source: This unit should only be used with the AC power adapters included in this package (rated 5V DC 1A).

Damage requiring service: This unit should be serviced by qualified personnel only when:

  1. Objects have fallen or liquid has been spilled into the product.
  2. The units have been exposed to rain.
  3. The units do not appear to operate normally or exhibits a distinct change in performance.
  4. The units have been dropped or the enclosure damaged.

3. Installation Guidelines

4. Placement of the Baby Monitor

The camera can be placed on a desktop or mounted on a wall. Do not place the baby monitor on soft quilts or blankets, or in corners of cupboards, shelves, etc. Keep the baby monitor away from heat sources like radiators, chimneys, cookers, and direct sunlight. Keep the baby unit away from TV sets, microwave ovens, and radios. If interference occurs, move the camera to a different location.

For optimum performance, place the camera within 6 feet (2 meters) of the area being monitored.

5. Getting Started

5.1 Turn On the Baby Unit

  1. Insert the DC plug of the power adapter into the DC jack in the rear of the Baby Unit.
  2. Insert the other end of the power adapter into a suitable electrical outlet.

Note: An advanced invisible night vision light is implemented to prevent disturbance to children.

5.2 Turn On the Parent Unit

  1. Insert the DC plug of the power adapter into the DC jack on the side of the Parent Unit.
  2. Insert the other end of the power adapter into a suitable electrical outlet.
  3. Press and hold the power button [power] for 3 seconds on the side of the parent unit.
  4. Once the parent unit is on, the power LED will light up and the image will display on the LCD.

Note: For the best signal, pull up the antenna [antenna] when the product is in use.

5.3 Pairing the Camera and Parent Units

The baby unit is pre-registered to your parent unit. If the two devices don't pair, follow the procedure below:

Note: A camera symbol with " " means it is well registered. Select the camera symbol without the " " sign to pair.

  1. Ensure the parent unit has power and the baby unit is plugged in. (Check in a dim environment to ensure the camera is powered.)
  2. On the parent unit screen, navigate to "Camera" and choose to add a camera.
  3. When the loading symbol [loading] is displayed on the LCD screen, press the pair button [pair] on the back of the baby unit.

Note: A camera symbol with " " means it is well registered. If it doesn't work, contact service@hellobaby.net.cn.

5.4 Infrared Night Vision (Automatic)

The infrared night vision function allows the camera to capture images in dark or low light conditions. In this mode, only black and white images are displayed on the monitor. The optimum image is achieved when the baby unit is 6ft (2m) away from the object. When the camera is in night vision mode, the [night vision] symbol will be displayed on the top of the screen.

7. Key Operation

7.1 Turn On/Off

Press and hold the power button [power] for 3 seconds to turn on/off the parent unit.

7.2 UP ▲

Press once to tilt the camera up by one step. Press and hold to tilt continuously.

7.3 DOWN ▼

Press once to tilt the camera down by one step. Press and hold to tilt continuously.

7.4 LEFT ◄

Press once to pan the camera left by one step. Press and hold to pan continuously.

7.5 RIGHT ►

Press once to pan the camera right by one step. Press and hold to pan continuously.

7.6 Camera View/Scan

Split-Screen Function: The baby monitor is equipped with 2 cameras and a SPLIT-SCREEN function, allowing users to see both cameras side by side on the same screen.

Press the [view/scan] button to view/scan cameras:

Note: In split-screen mode, the cursor defaults to Camera 1. The audio displayed comes from Camera 1. To listen to sound from Camera 2, move the cursor to Camera 2. The audio will then come from Camera 2. (Simultaneous monitoring of audio from two cameras is not supported).

7.7 Digital Zoom

Under full screen mode, press and hold the [zoom] button for about 2 seconds to zoom in/out.

7.8 Two Way Talk

Under full screen mode, press and hold the [talk] button to enter two-way talk mode. A [mic] symbol will be displayed in the corner of the LCD screen. Release the button to stop.

Note: When in two-way talk mode, the parent unit speaker is muted.

8. Menu Operation

8.1 Pairing the Camera and Parent Units

The baby unit is pre-registered. Re-register only if the baby unit loses its link. Follow the procedure below:

8.1.1 Add Camera

  1. Press the [menu] button; the menu will pop up.
  2. Press the ◄ / ► / ▲ / ▼ buttons until the [camera] symbol is selected.
  3. Press the [OK] button to enter the sub-menu, then press ▲ / ▼ buttons to select your desired camera.
  4. Press the [select] button to enter the sub-menu; press ▲ / ▼ buttons to select, then press the [confirm] button.
  5. When the [loading] symbol is displayed on the LCD screen, press the pair button [pair] on the back of the camera.
  6. Once paired, a "Successful pairing" symbol shows on the LCD screen.
  7. If pairing fails, repeat the steps.

8.1.2 Delete Camera

  1. Press the [menu] button; the menu will pop up.
  2. Press the ◄ / ► / ▲ / ▼ buttons until the [camera] symbol is selected.
  3. Press the [OK] button to enter the sub-menu, then press ▲ / ▼ buttons to select the camera you want to delete.
  4. Press the [select] button to enter the sub-menu; press ▲ / ▼ buttons to select, then press the [confirm] button.
  5. Press the [delete] button to select the [delete] symbol to delete the camera.
  6. Press the [OK] button to confirm the option.

8.2 Volume

  1. Press the [volume] button; the menu will pop up.
  2. Press the ◄ / ► / ▲ / ▼ buttons until the [volume] symbol is selected.
  3. Press the [select] button to enter the sub-menu.
  4. Press the ▲ / ▼ buttons to select the desired volume level from 1 to 5.

8.3 Display Brightness

  1. Press the [menu] button; the menu will pop up.
  2. Press the ◄ / ► / ▲ / ▼ buttons until the [brightness] symbol is selected.
  3. Press the [select] button to enter the sub-menu.
  4. Press the ◄ / ► buttons to select the desired brightness level from 1 to 5. (Default is level 3.)

8.4 Temperature Unit Setting

  1. Press the [menu] button; the menu will pop up.
  2. Press the ◄ / ► / ▲ / ▼ buttons until the [temperature] symbol is selected.
  3. Press the [select] button to enter the sub-menu.
  4. Press the ◄ / ► buttons to select ℉ or ℃ for setting the temperature unit.
  5. Press the [confirm] button to confirm.

Note: The detected temperature range is 0~50 ℃.

8.4.1 Temperature Alarm Setting

  1. Press the ▲ / ▼ buttons to select for turning on the alarm function; press the [confirm] button to confirm.
  2. Press the ▲ / ▼ buttons to select for turning off the alarm function; press the [confirm] button to confirm.

8.4.2 Set Temperature HI/LO Alert Limits

  1. Press ◄ / ► buttons to select [high temp] or [low temp] for Hi/Lo limits settings.
  2. Press ▲ / ▼ buttons to adjust the Hi limit when [high temp] (red) is selected.
  3. Press ▲ / ▼ buttons to adjust the Lo limit when [low temp] (green) is selected.

Note: The high temperature alarm default is 36 ℃, and the low temperature alarm default is 8 ℃. When the temperature goes above or below the settings, the [temperature] symbol will display. It will alert the user by beeping. Press any button on the parent unit to stop beeping and flashing.

8.5 Lullaby Setting

You can soothe the baby to sleep by playing a gentle lullaby from the Camera unit.

  1. Press the [menu] button; the menu will pop up.
  2. Press the ◄ / ► / ▲ / ▼ buttons until the [lullaby] symbol is selected.
  3. Press the [select] button to enter the sub-menu.
  4. Press the ◄ / ► / ▲ / ▼ buttons to select one of the 8 available lullabies. You can choose single playback, loop (all 8 lullabies) playback, or stop.
  5. Press the [confirm] button to confirm.

Note: The lullaby default setting is OFF.

8.6 Settings

8.6.1 Alarm Setting

  1. Press the [menu] button; the menu will pop up.
  2. Press the ◄ / ► / ▲ / ▼ buttons until the [settings] symbol is selected.
  3. Press the [menu] button. The sub-menu Settings will pop up.
  4. Press the ◄ / ► buttons until the [alarm] symbol is selected.
  5. Press the [select] button to enter the sub-menu. Press the ◄ / ► / ▲ / ▼ buttons to select the desired alarm time.
  6. Press the [confirm] button to confirm.
  7. Press the [exit] button to exit.

Note 1: The minimum unit is 0.5 hour. The maximum setting is 5 hours (7 levels).

Note 2: Once the alarm is turned on, the [alarm] symbol will display on the screen.

Note 3: The alarm default setting is OFF.

Note 4: When the alarm is ringing, press any button on the parent unit to turn the alarm off.

Note 5: If you do not turn off the alarm, it will ring for 1 minute. After three minutes, the alarm will ring again for 1 minute. The alarm will ring for three times in total, after which it goes off.

8.6.2 Date/Time Setting

  1. Press the [menu] button; the menu will pop up.
  2. Press the ◄ / ► / ▲ / ▼ buttons until the [settings] symbol is selected.
  3. Press the [menu] button. The sub-menu Settings will pop up.
  4. Press the ◄ / ► buttons until the [time] symbol is selected.
  5. Press the [select] button to enter the sub-menu. Press the ◄ / ► / ▲ / ▼ buttons to select Month, Day, and Year settings. Press ▲ / ▼ buttons to set your desired month, date, and year.
  6. Press the ◄ / ► buttons to select the timing method (12H or 24H).

8.7 Energy Saving (ECO)

This mode controls the sound activation of your baby unit. If there is no sound around the baby unit for 30 seconds, it stops audio transmission and turns off the parent unit screen. When the baby unit detects sounds louder than the sensitivity level, it resumes transmission and turns on the parent unit screen. To change the ECO level:

  1. Press the [menu] button; the menu will pop up.
  2. Press the ◄ / ► / ▲ / ▼ buttons until the [ECO] symbol is selected.
  3. Press the [select] button to enter the sub-menu, then press ▲ / ▼ buttons to select the desired level.
  4. Press the [confirm] button to confirm.
  5. Press the [exit] button to exit.

Note: [ECO low] is Low sensitivity level; the baby must make a lot of sound before ECO function activates.

Note: [ECO mid] is Middle sensitivity level.

Note: [ECO high] is High sensitivity level; the baby does not have to make much sound before ECO function activates.

8.8 Language Setting

  1. Press the [menu] button; the menu will pop up.
  2. Press the ◄ / ► / ▲ / ▼ buttons until the [language] symbol is selected.
  3. Press the [select] button to enter the sub-menu, then press ◄ / ► / ▲ / ▼ buttons to select the desired language.
  4. Press the [confirm] button to confirm.
  5. Press the [exit] button to exit.

Troubleshooting

Q: No Reception on the Monitor

A: Check if power adapters are properly connected. Ensure camera and monitor are ON. Ensure camera is not too far from the monitor. If camera and monitor are not paired, follow PAIRING instructions: Repower the baby unit, press the RESET button [reset] on the parent unit, then navigate to MENU and select Add Camera. Press the PAIR button [pair] on the back of the baby unit and wait for pairing.

Q: Interference or Poor Reception

A: The monitor may be too far from the camera. The camera or monitor may be too close to metal objects. Other electronic devices may be interfering with the signal. The battery power may be too low.

Q: Audio Feedback (High Pitched Noise)

A: The camera and monitor may be placed too close. The volume on the monitor may be set too high. Check the volume of lullabies and two-way calls. Contact service@hellobaby.net.cn if there is no sound.

Q: Frozen Picture on Screen

A: Repower the baby unit (unplug and replug the adapter). Press the RESET button [reset] on the back of the parent unit, then turn it on again.

Q: No LED Light on Baby Unit

A: Check if the two units are paired. Successful pairing means the baby unit is working. The baby unit of HelloBaby monitors does not have obvious LED lights to avoid disturbing the baby; lights are only visible in a dark environment.

Q: Parent Unit often Goes Black

A: Check for the ECO symbol [ECO] on the screen. In ECO mode, the parent unit screen turns black every 30 seconds to save power. To keep the screen on, go to the menu and turn off the "ECO" function. Also, check if the parent unit has switched to night vision mode.

Improper or incorrect use of batteries may cause corrosion or battery leakage, leading to personal injury or property damage. Use only the battery types indicated in this manual.
