To use your appliance to its best, please read these instructions carefully as they contain useful information.
- Keep this manual for later use. A copy can also be found at www.insinkerator.com.au.
- Refer to the Installation, Care & Use manual packaged with other components for additional safety and installation instructions.
- Always use safety gloves and eye protection when handling the Chiller.
- Ensure installation and electrical wiring are carried out by a qualified technician according to manufacturer's instructions and local norms. The electrical system must have effective earth grounding according to law (46/90).
- In Australia and New Zealand, all plumbing and electrical work must be completed by a qualified tradesperson, conforming to AS/NZ 3500.1 and AS/NZS 3500.2.
- Do not operate the Chiller with the metal enclosure removed.
- Do not overfill the Ice Bank. Overfilling can cause water to spill inside the Chiller, potentially contacting electrical connections and causing malfunction. Allow to fully dry before starting.
- Check for damage after removing packaging.
- The supply cord cannot be replaced. If damaged, the Chiller should not be used.
- Do not move the unit using inlet/outlet tubes or fittings, as this may cause internal damage and improper operation.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless supervised by a person responsible for their safety.
- Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
- [!] WARNING: Water used must come from a potable source. The Chiller is intended for chilling potable water only.
- [!] WARNING: When positioning the appliance, ensure the supply cord is not trapped or damaged.
- [!] WARNING: Do not locate multiple portable socket-outlets or portable power supplies at the rear of the appliance.
- [!] WARNING: To avoid a hazard due to instability, the appliance must be fixed according to instructions.
- [!] WARNING: The refrigeration system is under high pressure. Do not tamper with it. Contact qualified service personnel before disposal.
General Precautions and Suggestions
- Before any maintenance or cleaning, remove the plug from the main socket.
- Do not pull the supply cable to remove the plug.
- Ensure the appliance is not resting on the mains supply cable after installation.
- To avoid internal water spillage from the ice bank, secure the Chiller with the supplied brackets. If water spillage occurred, allow the Chiller to dry before turning it on.
- For best cooling, limit water pressure by installing the supplied pressure limiting valve (provided with the Hot Water tank and filter). This valve is also a backflow prevention device and must be installed.
- At the coldest settings, the Chiller could freeze internal tubing. Set the thermostat midway between 6 and 7 to start.
- The manufacturer reserves the right to make necessary modifications to data and characteristics without prior notice or replacement.
What You Should Know Before You Begin
- For your satisfaction and safety, read all instructions, cautions, and warnings before installing or using the Chiller.
- Wear safety gloves and eye protection when handling the Chiller.
- [NOTICE] IMPORTANT: After unpacking, place the unit upright for 1 hour before connecting power. The Chiller must only be installed in the upright position.
- For best results, install the tap prior to installing the Chiller.
- This appliance is intended for household and similar applications (staff kitchens, shops, offices, hotels, etc.).
- This unit is not intended for commercial use. Consider utilization and capacity before installing in such applications.
- Ensure all existing and new electrical wiring and connections conform to local codes.
- A standard, earth (grounded) electrical outlet is required for the Chiller's power.
- The Chiller must be connected directly into the wall outlet.
- The wall outlet must be fused and have continuous power.
- It is recommended to install a dedicated control valve on the cold-water line.
- If you suspect elevated chlorine levels, use the InSinkErator water filtration system.
- The power (On/Off) and temperature are controlled by the thermostat on one face of the Chiller.
- A drain pan, plumbed to an appropriate drain or outfitted with a leak detector, should be used where leakage could cause property damage.
- Do not install if water pressure exceeds 860 kPa (8.6 bar, 125 psig). If pressure exceeds 550 kPa (5.5 bar, 80 psi), install a pressure limiting valve. In Australia/New Zealand, a WaterMark certified AS/NZS2845.1 350 kPa (3.5 bar, 50 psi) set pressure limiting valve and dual check valve must be used.
- Protect from freezing: shut off water supply and drain the entire system when temperatures are expected to drop below 4°C.
- Ambient temperature should be between 4°C and 30°C. Higher ambient temperatures will increase chilling time.
- The Chiller generates heat and may require ventilation for the cabinet it is placed in.
Before Using the Appliance
[!] Failure to comply with safety regulations could cause fires, electrical shocks, or damage the machine.
Place of Installation
- Do not place near inflammable solvents (e.g., alcohol, diluents).
- Do not install in excessively damp or dusty environments, outdoors, or near heat sources. Do not place in direct sunlight. This could cause fires or electrical shocks.
- The appliance is not suitable for use in open places.
- When connecting to the mains water supply, replace all pre-existing tubes, gaskets, and joints with new material to avoid contamination.
Electric Power Supply
- Do not damage, modify, stretch, bend, or twist the power cable.
- Do not place heavy objects on the power cable.
- Do not use the Chiller if the power cable is tied or knotted.
- Do not remove the enclosure or alter electrical components/wiring.
- If smoke, unusual smells, or strange noises occur, disconnect immediately and contact Service. Continued use could cause fires or electrical shock.
- Periodically inspect the electrical plug for dust build-up; unplug and remove dust.
- Do not spray water on the Chiller; this could cause electrical shock or fire.
- The Chiller must not be installed where it can be exposed to water spray from other devices.
- Unplug the Chiller before cleaning. Use a damp cloth; do not use alcohol, benzene, or diluents.

Packaging and Product Information
Removal of Packaging
- Place the appliance in its installation site.
- Cut straps and remove carton, polystyrene, and external plastic bag.
- Dispose of plastic bags and polystyrene immediately as they are a danger to children.
- Once the appliance is free from packaging, remove the base.
Product Information
This appliance is marked according to the European directive 2012/19/EC on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). By ensuring this product is disposed of correctly, you will help prevent potential negative consequences for the environment and human health. The symbol on the product indicates it may not be treated as household waste; instead, it shall be handed over to the applicable collection point for recycling.
Disposal must be carried out in accordance with local environmental regulations. For more detailed information, contact your local city office or the shop where you purchased the product.
Advice on How to Protect the Environment
- Packaging material is 100% recyclable. Follow local regulations for disposal.
- Keep packaging material (plastic bags, polystyrene parts) out of children's reach as it could be dangerous.
- This appliance does not contain CFCs; the cooling circuit contains a gas that is not harmful to the ozone layer.

Positioning the Appliance
Position the appliance away from sources of heat and direct sunlight. Avoid installing outdoors or in very damp rooms.
- Install the machine under the sink, keeping vents clear. Do not obstruct air circulation.
- Leave approximately 15 cm (5.9 inches) of space free for air circulation around the unit.
- Special ventilation grills/slits must be prepared in the undercounter housing compartment to facilitate heat dissipation from the refrigerating circuit.
- The cabinet should have an air inlet opening of at least 10cm x 20cm (or equivalent area).
- The cabinet should also have an air outlet the same size as the fan grill, at least 12.5cm wide and 15.5cm high, aligned with the condenser.
- The cabinet shall provide minimum 150 cm (5.9 inches) uniform spacing around the unit.
Pre-installation with Taps
Diagrams illustrate the installation process with various InSinkErator taps (e.g., F-4N1 Tap, F-HC1100, F-HC3300). These show the routing of water lines, connections to the chiller, and placement under the sink.
Mounting brackets should be installed on the underside of the chiller. Secure the Chiller to the cabinet floor using screws through the brackets.
Installation Steps
Ice Container Filling
Remove the plug from the ICE BANK FILL port (C). Connect a plastic tube to this port and the other end to the Y fitting (smaller side). Turn on the water supply and fill the ice bank to the fill marking. Remove the plastic tube and reinsert the plug. [CAUTION] Do not overfill. Carefully move the Chiller after filling and secure it with the provided mounting brackets. Mounting screws for the cabinet are not provided.
Change Water Mains Connection
Connect the water mains from port C to port B. Turn on the water supply and check for leaks.
Adjust Water Temperature and Turn On Power
Adjust the temperature using the thermostat (E) and insert the plug. [NOTICE] It is recommended to set the temperature midway between 6 and 7 to start. Adjust later if needed. Setting 7 may cause internal tubing to freeze or frequent unit cycling, potentially affecting product life.
In-Home Limited Warranty
2-Year Warranty
This limited warranty is provided by InSinkErator, a business unit of Emerson Electric Co., to the original consumer owner and subsequent owners of the residence where the product is installed. The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship for the "Warranty Period," commencing on the date of installation, purchase, or manufacture, whichever is later. Proof of installation or purchase date is required.
Permitted Uses
The InSinkErator Product may be used with genuine InSinkErator instant hot water dispensers and component parts, or "Authorized OEM Products" (products manufactured by an authorized InSinkErator original equipment manufacturer). Use with any other products will void this warranty. A list of Authorized OEMs is available upon request or at www.insinkerator.com/oem.
What is Covered
This limited warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship for InSinkErator Products used for residential purposes only. It includes replacement parts and labor costs. The sole remedy is repair or replacement of the product. A refund or credit may be provided if neither is practicable.
What is Not Covered
This warranty excludes losses or damages resulting from conditions beyond the manufacturer's control (accident, alteration, misuse, abuse, neglect, failure to install/maintain per instructions or codes), normal wear and tear (cosmetic rust, scratches, dents), or damages caused by other products used with the InSinkErator Products. It does not apply to commercial or industrial applications.
No Other Express Warranty Applies
This limited warranty is the sole and exclusive warranty. No other express warranty, written or verbal, applies. No employee, agent, dealer, or other person is authorized to alter this warranty or make any other warranty on behalf of the manufacturer.
What We Will Do to Correct Problems
If the product does not operate as documented, contact an Authorised InSinkErator service centre. Provide your name, address, phone number, model, and serial number, along with proof of purchase/installation. Manufacturer or its authorized representative will determine if the product is covered and will arrange for repair or replacement at your home. Warranty on replacement products is limited to the unexpired term of the original warranty.
Attempting to repair the InSinkErator Product yourself voids this warranty. For service information, contact your local Authorised InSinkErator service centre.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, the manufacturer and its authorized service representatives are not liable for any incidental, special, indirect, or consequential damages, including economic loss, resulting from nonperformance, use, misuse, inability to use, or negligence. Manufacturer's liability will not exceed the price paid by the original owner for the product. This includes loss of profits, business interruption, loss of use or revenue, cost of capital, or property damage. Some states may not allow these limitations.

Filter Guide and Replacement
Replace the filter cartridge when there is an obvious decrease in water flow to the tap or if there is an objectionable taste or odour to the water. It is recommended that carbon filters be replaced every 6 months.
When the inlet and outlet ports are closed and filter pressure is relieved, water (approx. 60ml) will discharge from the vent line.
Filter Replacement Instructions:
- Replace with an InSinkErator® filter.
- Place a pan or dish towel under the filter to catch water drainage during change.
- Slowly turn the cartridge anticlockwise completely until it stops (1/4 turn).
- Pull cartridge straight down and discard.
- Insert new cartridge into filter head.
- The top surface of the cartridge will become flush with the bottom of the filter head when fully engaged.
- Turn the cartridge clockwise until it stops (1/4 turn).
- Align the in/out arrow on the head and bracket assembly to the in/out arrow on the cartridge.
- Open tap to expel trapped air.
- Run water for 4 minutes before usage.
If a new filter cartridge cannot be inserted, insert the old one, turn until it stops, remove it, and then retry the new cartridge.

Warnings
- [!] WARNING: Electric Shock Hazard. To prevent electrical shock, disconnect power before servicing. Use only a properly grounded and polarized electric outlet.
- [NOTICE] PROPERTY DAMAGE: Regularly inspect the unit for any signs of leakage. If there are signs of water damage, immediately remove the unit from service. A drain pan, plumbed to an appropriate drain or outfitted with a leak detector, should be used where leakage could cause property damage.
- [NOTICE] CLEANING THE TAP: Only use mild cleaners to clean the tap and plastic components. Cleaners with acids, abrasives, alkaline, or organic solvents will result in deterioration of plastic components and void the warranty.
- [NOTICE] PERSONAL INJURY: Regularly check for signs of corrosion by examining the appearance of the dispensed water. If water discoloration remains after purging the unit, discontinue use and contact an authorized InSinkErator service agent.
