Fortin EVO-ALL Installation Guide for Volkswagen Golf (2015-2018)
This guide provides instructions for installing the Fortin EVO-ALL module with the TB-VW bypass for Volkswagen Golf vehicles manufactured between 2015 and 2018. It is compatible only with automatic transmission vehicles.
Vehicle Compatibility
Vehicle: Volkswagen Golf
Years: 2015-2018
Note: This installation is only compatible with automatic transmission vehicles.
Required Parts
The following parts are required but not included:
- TB-VW (key bypass)
- RLINK programming tool
- Fusible 7.5 Amp.
- 4x Diodes
- T-Harness (THAR-VW6 or THAR-VW2, depending on the specific model)
Note: The vehicle may be equipped with a Virtual Cluster, which is not supported for the key bypass.
Installation Overview
The installation involves connecting the EVO-ALL module to the vehicle's wiring harness. Specific wiring diagrams are provided for different harness types (Wire-to-Wire and T-Harness).
Key connection points include:
- Ignition (IGNITION1, IGNITION2)
- Key Sense
- Starter
- 12V Power
- CAN High/Low
- Foot Brake
- Hazards
Mandatory Installation Components:
- Hood Pin: This is a crucial safety element and must be installed. If the vehicle can be remote started with the hood open, the 'A11' function must be set to 'OFF'.
- Remote Starter Safety Override Switch (Valet Switch): This is also an essential security element that must be installed.
Programming Procedures
The EVO-ALL module requires programming using the R-LINK tool or the FLASH LINK UPDATER/MOBILE tool. The procedure involves connecting the tool, following specific LED indications, and turning the ignition key.
Key Programming Steps:
- Before programming, set the unit options and save them using the appropriate tool.
- Connect the R-LINK tool instead of the TB-VW module.
- Close and open the driver's door.
- Press and hold the programming button. Connect the 4-PIN Data-link harness. Observe LED indications (Blue, Red, Yellow).
- Release the programming button when the Blue LED is solid. If not, disconnect and restart.
- Connect the remaining harnesses.
- Turn the key to the Ignition ON/RUN position.
- Follow the specific sequence of button presses and LED confirmations as detailed in the guide for key bypass programming.
- After programming is completed, disconnect all connectors except the Data-Link (4-pins) connector.
- Reconnect all connectors, including the TB-VW, after the DCryptor programming is complete.
Note: If programming is interrupted, the vehicle may not start normally. Disconnect and reconnect the vehicle battery to resolve this.
Remote Starter Functionality
To use the remote starter:
- Ensure all doors are closed.
- Remote start the vehicle using the OEM remote or the Fortin remote starter remote by pressing the Lock, Unlock, Lock sequence.
- Insert and turn the key to the Ignition ON/RUN position.
- Press the brake pedal.
- The vehicle is now ready to be put into gear and driven.
