Principle of Operation

The AprilAire Model E100W Wi-Fi Dehumidifier utilizes Wi-Fi enabled technology for straightforward installation, setup, and pairing. Its design facilitates easy maintenance through reliable monitoring and enhanced product support, offering a superior user experience for managing moisture and high humidity levels.

The unit operates by passing incoming air over an evaporator coil, lowering the air temperature below its dew point to remove moisture. The collected moisture is then drained from the unit. Subsequently, the air is reheated in the condenser coil before exiting the unit.

Dehumidification continues until the set point is achieved, at which point the unit powers down until periodic sampling indicates a need for operation.

Application

The E100W Dehumidifiers are suitable for various applications, including whole-home dehumidification and moisture control in basements and crawl spaces.

Circulation

The Model E100W can be programmed to circulate air, which helps to equalize relative humidity levels and temperature within the treated space, thereby eliminating environmental variations.

Installation Options

The AprilAire E100W Dehumidifiers can be installed in horizontal or vertical orientations.

Main Return to Main Return - RECOMMENDED

Suitable when a supply duct is unavailable.
Air is drawn from the return duct, dehumidified, and then returned to the same return duct.
Ensures dehumidified air is mixed with the general airflow before re-entering the living space.
Ideal for whole-home dehumidification.

Dedicated Return to Main Supply or Dedicated Return to A/C Return

Applicable when a return or supply duct is not present.
Air is drawn through a dedicated return grille, dehumidified, and then returned to the supply plenum or A/C return.
Suitable for whole-home dehumidification.

Inlet and Outlet Ducted to Dedicated Grilles

Designed for homes without existing ductwork. The Model 5546 Living Space Duct Kit is recommended for this setup.
Effectively dries specific areas with moisture issues, such as basements, crawl spaces, or sealed attics.
The dehumidifier can be placed in a closet, mechanical room, or unfinished area and ducted into a finished room.

Main Return to Main Supply

Air is drawn from the return duct, dehumidified, and then returned to the supply plenum.
This configuration is intended for whole-home dehumidification.

Optional Accessories

Model 4856 Condensate Pump: Features a 22 ft. lift capacity and a low profile design. Operates on 120 V.
Model 5958 Condensate Pump Bracket: Includes an intuitive rail system, requires no additional screws, and comes with a threaded drain elbow.
Model 5822 Hanging Kit: Facilitates installation with a simple pulley system. Weighs 2.3 lbs. and supports up to 200 lbs.
