Principle of Operation
The AprilAire Model E080W Wi-Fi Dehumidifier operates by drawing air over an evaporator coil, which cools the air below its dew point, causing moisture to condense. This collected moisture is then drained from the unit. The air is subsequently reheated in the condenser coil before exiting. The unit continues dehumidifying until the set point is met, then cycles off until periodic sampling indicates a need for operation.
Application
The E080W Wi-Fi Dehumidifier is suitable for a wide range of applications, including whole-home dehumidification and controlling moisture levels in basements and crawl spaces.
- Turn-Key Provisioning: Features built-in control with Bluetooth connectivity.
- Intuitive Controls: Offers an enhanced digital interface and app integration for ongoing monitoring and maintenance.
- Integration: Works with the AprilAire Healthy Air App for alerts, diagnosis, and updates.
Circulation
The E080W can be programmed to circulate air within a crawl space. This function helps to equalize relative humidity levels and temperature throughout the space, reducing environmental variations.
Installation Options
The AprilAire E080W Dehumidifiers can be installed in horizontal applications, and can also be installed in vertical applications.
Main Return to Main Return - RECOMMENDED
This configuration is ideal when a supply duct is not available. Air is drawn from the return duct, dehumidified, and then returned to the same return duct. This ensures the dehumidified air mixes with the rest of the air in the duct before re-entering the house. This application is for whole-home dehumidification.
Dedicated Return to Main Supply or Dedicated Return to A/C Return
This setup is useful when a return or supply duct is not available. Air is pulled through a dedicated return grille, dehumidified, and then returned to the supply plenum or return duct. This application is also for whole-home dehumidification.
Inlet and Outlet Ducted to Dedicated Grilles
This option is for homes without existing ductwork. It is recommended to use the Model 5546 Living Space Duct Kit. This setup is designed to dry a specific area with moisture issues, such as basements, crawl spaces, or sealed attics. The dehumidifier can be placed in a closet, mechanical room, or unfinished area and ducted into a finished room.
Main Return to Main Supply
In this configuration, air is drawn from the return duct, dehumidified, and then returned directly to the supply plenum. This application is for whole-home dehumidification.
