Description and Use
The Vortice Nordik Evolution R is a reversible ceiling fan designed for both residential and commercial environments. It can be optionally fitted with a light kit featuring two 15W E27 energy-saving bulbs or one 105W E27 incandescent bulb. An infrared remote control is also available.
Safety Instructions
User Safety Warnings (⚠️)
- Use this product only as described in this manual.
- After unpacking, check the product for completeness and damage. Contact a Vortice Service Centre if issues are found.
- Keep packaging materials away from children and individuals with disabilities.
- Observe fundamental electrical safety rules: do not touch with wet hands or while barefoot.
- Do not use near flammable substances or vapors (e.g., alcohol, insecticides, petrol).
- In non-residential settings, ensure the bottom of the fan blades are at least 2.7 meters (approx. 8.86 feet) from the floor (see Figure 2).
- Unauthorized modifications to the factory fittings will void the warranty and release the manufacturer from liability.
- This appliance can be used by children aged 8 and above, and by individuals with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capacities, or lack of experience/knowledge, provided they are supervised or have received instruction on safe use and understand the associated risks. Children must not play with the appliance. Cleaning and maintenance procedures intended for the user must not be performed by unsupervised children.
Product Safety Cautions (⚠️)
- Do not modify the appliance in any way.
- Do not expose the appliance to atmospheric conditions (rain, sun, etc.).
- Regularly inspect the appliance for visible defects. If faults are found, do not operate and contact a Vortice Service Centre immediately.
- The electrical mains connection must conform to current standards.
- The appliance must be correctly connected to an efficient earthing system as per electrical safety regulations. Consult a qualified electrician if in doubt.
- Connect the product to the power supply only if the installation/socket capacity is adequate for the maximum power requirement. Consult a qualified professional if unsure.
- If the appliance is dropped or suffers a heavy blow, have it checked immediately by a Vortice authorized service center.
- In case of malfunction or fault, switch off the appliance and contact a Vortice authorized service center. Request genuine Vortice spare parts for repairs.
- Turn off the appliance switch when not in use.
- Use the product at an ambient temperature not exceeding 40°C (104°F).
- Maintain adequate distance from walls and objects.
- Electrical supply data must match the data plate (Figure 3).
- Installation must be performed by qualified professional personnel.
- A multi-pole switch with a contact opening gap of at least 3 mm is required for installation.
- Products with single-phase (M) motors always require connection to 220-240V (or 230V where specified) single-phase lines. Any modification will be considered tampering and will nullify the warranty.
- Fans must be installed so that the blades or impeller are positioned more than 2.3 meters (approx. 7.5 feet) above the floor level.
Installation
Refer to Figures 4-21 (Fig. 17: Light Kit). The anchoring devices shown in Figure 6 are for indicative purposes only. Follow the instructions below for installation:
- Verify that the destination ceiling is structurally adequate to support the product's weight.
- Ensure that anchoring devices do not compromise the structural integrity of the ceiling.
- Use correctly tightened anchoring devices suitable for the product's weight and ceiling type, ensuring they cannot be loosened by the product's rotation.
Figure 4 shows the ceiling bracket installation with a measurement of 84 mm.
Figure 5 illustrates a ceiling fan with blades, indicating a weight of 8 Kg.
Figure 6 shows mounting hardware and a weight capacity of 32 Kg.
Figures 7-18 detail the installation process, including mounting the bracket, securing the fan housing, making electrical connections, and assembling internal components. Arrows indicate assembly steps.
Figures 19-21 show the final attachment of fan blades and the completed installation.
Cleaning
Refer to Figures 22-24. Before any cleaning or maintenance, turn off the appliance's main switch and unplug it from the power supply.
Figure 22 shows a switch in the ON and OFF positions.
Figure 23 depicts a fan crossed out within a bin, indicating proper disposal procedures.
Figure 24 illustrates cleaning the fan blades by hand.
Electrical Connections
Refer to Figures 25, 26 (Light Kit).
Figures 25 and 26 provide electrical wiring diagrams for the fan and light kit, showing terminal connections and switch configurations.
Disposal
This product complies with Directive 2012/19/EU on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol on the appliance indicates that it must not be discarded with household waste at the end of its life. It must be taken to a separate collection point for electrical and electronic equipment to ensure proper treatment, disposal, and recycling, preventing negative environmental and health effects. Contact your local authority for collection point locations. Distributors are obliged to take back old appliances for disposal free of charge when a new equivalent appliance is purchased.
