Introduction

Thank you for purchasing this product. This manual outlines the proper care and maintenance required for your vehicle, ensuring a long, trouble-free operating life. The information reflects the latest state of the vehicle at the time of printing. Slight deviations due to ongoing development are possible. Specifications are non-binding; MotoTec reserves the right to modify technical specifications, parts, or design without prior notice.

Safety Warnings

This vehicle is NOT A TOY and is intended for use only in closed-off areas remote from public road traffic. Never permit children under the age of 16 to operate this vehicle. Adult supervision is required for riders under 16.

Riding this vehicle is a hazardous activity. Certain conditions may cause equipment failure. Like other vehicles, the Mini Dirt Bike is intended to move, and it is possible to lose control, fall off, or get into dangerous situations. Serious injury or death can occur even with safety equipment and precautions. Ride at your own risk and use common sense.

This manual contains warnings and cautions regarding the consequences of failing to maintain, inspect, or properly use the mini dirt bike. Due to the potential for serious injury or death, these warnings are not repeated with every mention of a possibility.

Appropriate Rider Use and Parental Supervision

This manual provides important safety information and tips for operating the mini dirt bike. Read the entire manual with your child before their first ride. It also contains information on servicing the vehicle.

It is the owner's responsibility to review the manual and ensure all riders understand warnings, cautions, instructions, and safety topics. Periodic review and reinforcement of this information with your child is recommended, along with regular inspection and maintenance of the vehicle for safety.

The recommended rider age of 16 is an estimate and can be influenced by the rider's size, weight, or skills. Riders unable to fit comfortably on the vehicle should not attempt to ride it.

Technical training is essential before the first use. Contact the dealer for training information. Do not let your child use the vehicle before completing training.

Children may underestimate dangerous situations. Make it clear that they should not operate the vehicle without supervision and only at speeds commensurate with their riding ability and road conditions.

A parent's decision to allow a child to ride should be based on the child's maturity, skill, and ability to follow rules. Keep the product away from children younger than 16. It is intended for persons who are comfortable and competent while operating the vehicle.

Do not exceed a total weight of 95 kg. Rider weight does not necessarily indicate appropriate size or control capability.

Do not touch the brakes or motor while in use, as they can become very hot.

Acceptable Riding Practices and Conditions

Always check and obey local laws and regulations affecting where the vehicle may be used.

Ride defensively. Watch for objects that could cause sudden swerving or loss of control. Avoid pedestrians, skaters, skateboards, scooters, bikes, children, or animals. Respect the rights and property of others.

This vehicle is meant for controlled environments free of traffic hazards, not on public streets or sidewalks. Do not ride in areas with pedestrians or product traffic.

Do not activate the throttle unless on the bike in a safe, outdoor environment suitable for riding.

The vehicle is built for performance and durability but is not impervious to damage. Jumping or aggressive riding can over-stress and damage the product. The rider assumes all risks associated with high-stress activity. Be careful and know your limitations; the risk of injury increases with riding difficulty.

Dirt Bike Parts & Function

The following lists the main parts of the dirt bike:

Battery Indicator ?: STOP using the bike and charge the battery once the indicator turns into the red and yellow light only.

Before You Begin

Carefully remove contents from the box, including foam separators. Inspect for any damage incurred during shipping, such as scratches or dents. The product is 85% assembled at the factory, so major issues are unlikely even if the box shows minor wear.

MAKE SURE THE ON/OFF SWITCH IS TURNED “OFF” BEFORE CONDUCTING ANY PROCEDURES.

Estimated Assembly and Set-Up Time

Assembly is recommended by an adult experienced in motorbike or bicycle mechanics. Allow 30-40 minutes for assembly and 4-6 hours for the initial charge.

Required Tools

While some tools may be supplied, mechanic's grade tools are recommended. Use supplied tools only as a last resort.

Assembly Instructions

Handlebar Assembly

Caution: Failure to properly adjust and tighten handlebar bolts can cause loss of control and crashes.

  1. Place the handlebars in the handlebar clamps.
  2. Align parallel to the fork and tighten the bolts. Ensure the handlebars do not move forward or back when properly tightened.
  3. Adjust the brake lever adjuster to the proper place and tighten it.

Front Wheel Assembly

1. Position the wheel in the front fork and slide the disc brake into the caliper.

2. Slide the axle through the fork, spacer, and wheel hub. On the other side of the wheel hub, add the other spacer and slide through the fork. Secure with a washer and nut. Note: The front axle is installed with a spacer between the fork and wheel for all Dirt Rockets. If your model has one short spacer, it goes on the side of the hub with the disc brake.

3. With a 14mm and 17mm wrench, tighten the front wheel screws.

Inflating the Tires

NOTE: Tires are inflated when shipped but may lose pressure before purchase. Always inflate tires to the correct PSI before first use. Refer to the specification sheet for tire pressure information. Use a bicycle-style tire pump to inflate the tire to the PSI indicated on the sidewall.

Pressurized air supplies at gas stations are designed for high-volume automobile tires. If using such a supply, ensure the pressure gauge is working and use very short bursts to inflate to the correct PSI. Release excess pressure immediately if over-inflated.

Important Tire Information: The tire is the vehicle's only contact with the road; tire condition is crucial for safety. Always use the correct size and standard tire for replacement.

Before Riding

The Air Circuit Breaker

Before using the vehicle, turn the air circuit breaker ON to electrify it. The breaker is located under the seat. If the vehicle is not used for a long time, it is recommended to turn the circuit breaker OFF to cut off the vehicle's circuit.

Charging the Battery

Use only the charger supplied with the bike; never use a charger from a different model. Before charging, turn the power switch to “OFF”. Keep the charger in a dry, ventilated condition.

The charger is designed for indoor use only. Keep it away from water to avoid short circuits. Do not use it in damp, combustible, or explosive environments. Do not remove the plug by pulling the cord; grip the charging port by its metal body.

Connect the charger's output plug to the battery case socket, then insert the input plug into an AC electrical outlet. The charger indicator will light up, showing it's charging.

When the light turns from Red to Green, the battery is fully charged. Charging typically takes 4-6 hours. It is recommended to charge for an additional 2 hours after the light turns green for better battery life. Do not charge for more than 8 hours to prevent overcharging and damage. After the light turns GREEN, the charger is in trickle charge mode.

If you will be away for a long time, pull out the charger plug, especially in hot weather.

The charger may become warm during charging; keep it away from heat sources and ensure it remains dry and clean. The electronics contain high voltage; do not disassemble the charger.

After charging, pull the input plug from the outlet first, then the output plug from the battery case. Do not leave the charger plugged into the battery or outlet for extended periods, as this may damage the charger and cause a fire.

Keep the charger out of reach of children while charging. Do not place objects on the charger or allow liquids or metal fillings to enter it.

The battery can also be removed from the bike for charging.

Do not touch battery poles or charging connector poles with hands or metal objects, as this can cause a short circuit.

If the bike is not ridden for a long time, charge the battery at least once a month to ensure battery life. Do not use or store the battery in a low or fully discharged state for long periods, as it can self-discharge and become damaged.

Avoid water contact when charging. If a plug or socket gets wet, dry it completely before use.

If a peculiar smell or extremely high temperature occurs during charging, stop immediately and contact the distributor or Customer Service Center.

WARNING: Rechargeable batteries require adult supervision. Always disconnect the motorbike from the charger before cleaning with liquid.

NOTE: Chargers have built-in overcharge protection. The charger may get warm during use, which is normal. If it does not get warm, it does not mean it is not working.

Ensure the charger input port groove aligns with the vehicle's socket and tighten threads; otherwise, charging will not occur.

The charger port is located on the right side of the frame.

Warning: Failure to recharge the battery at least once a month may result in a battery that will no longer hold a charge.

Safety Reminders & Maintenance

Pre-Ride Checklist

Attention Points

After the first use, check all tightened parts. Pay special attention to:

Repair and Maintenance

Turn the power switch “OFF” before conducting any maintenance procedures.

WARNING: To prevent shock, follow instructions carefully and do not skip or combine steps.

Maintenance Procedures

Checking Spoke Tension

Verify spoke tension by shaking each spoke. Spoke should not be loose from the hub. Check for play where spoke flanges attach to the hub. Try to turn the nipple with fingers; it should not spin freely. If any spoke is loose, check all spokes and tighten with a spoke wrench.

Start with the spoke closest to the tire valve stem and tighten each nipple sequentially by 1/4 to 1/2 turn. Continue tightening all spokes by no more than 1/2 turn in sequence until all spokes are tight. Overtightening can distort the wheel.

Testing the Brakes

To use the brake, squeeze the lever to increase pressure. The brake lever has a cable adjuster for cable stretch and fine-tuning. If the brake is not engaging properly, follow instructions for adjusting the brakes.

Chain and Sprocket

A chain may have a “loose spot” and “tight spot” due to sprocket tolerances. Adjust the chain to ideal tension at the tightest spot. Maintain proper chain alignment; the wheel must not be skewed. If the chain is noisy or rough, check lubrication, tension, and alignment.

Warning: To avoid pinch or injury, keep fingers away from moving sprockets and chains.

Battery Disposal

BATTERIES MUST BE RECYCLED

Dispose of your product's lithium battery in an environmentally sound manner. Do not dispose of in fire, as it may explode or leak. Do not dispose of in regular household trash.

Charger Information

The supplied charger should be regularly examined for damage. If damaged, the bike must not be charged until the charger is repaired or replaced. USE ONLY WITH THE RECOMMENDED CHARGER.
