User Notice

Accessory Additions and Motorcycle Cargo

Adding unsuitable accessories can create unsafe operating conditions. While not all accessories can be tested, your dealer can assist in selecting and installing high-quality options. Exercise caution during selection and installation. Consult your Shandong Pengyue dealer for any questions.

⚠️ Warning ⚠️: Improper attachment or modification of accessories may alter operational characteristics and lead to accidents. Do not use inappropriate accessories; ensure all added parts are properly installed. All parts added to the motorcycle should be genuine Shandong Tengyue parts or designed by them. Install and use parts/accessories according to their instructions. Contact your Shandong Tengyue dealer if you have questions.

Parts Installation Guide

When installing external fittings, position them as low as possible, close to the motorcycle's center of gravity, and ensure they are flexibly adjustable. Verify that mounting brackets and accessories are firmly installed. Check ground clearance and tilt angle. Ensure accessory operations do not interfere with steering or suspension. Attachments on the handlebar or front fork can cause stability issues and reduce steering responsiveness.

Select accessories that do not restrict the rider's freedom of operation. Electrical accessories should not exceed the motorcycle's electrical system capacity, as overloading can damage the harness and cause danger.

⚠️ Warning ⚠️: This vehicle is prohibited from carrying people and goods.

Safety Instructions for Motorcycle Drivers

Motorcycle riding is exciting. Additional precautions are necessary for rider safety. Recommended measures include:

Wear Safety Helmet

Safe driving begins with wearing a helmet that meets safety standards. Goggles, sturdy boots, gloves, and other protective equipment are also recommended.

Inspection Before Driving

Carefully read the pre-driving inspection instructions in this manual. Driving according to the rules ensures safety.

Get Familiar with Your Motorcycle Structure

Your driving skills and mechanical knowledge are fundamental to safe driving. Practice in an open, low-traffic area until you are fully familiar with the motorcycle's properties and controls. Practice makes perfect.

Understand Limits

Ride within your capabilities. Understand and observe limits to avoid accidents.

Safe Driving in Bad Weather

Pay special attention on rainy days, as braking distance can double compared to sunny days. Avoid road hazards like covers, paint marks, and greasy patches to prevent skidding. Do not accelerate sharply when cornering. Exercise caution when crossing railways or bridges, and maintain a safe distance from vehicles ahead.

Defensive Riding

Many accidents occur when following too closely or when other vehicles turn unexpectedly. Employ defensive measures, such as wearing bright, reflective clothing and avoiding other drivers' blind spots.

Label

Read and understand all labels on the motorcycle. Do not remove any labels.

Location of Frame Number and Engine Number

The frame and engine numbers are used for registration. They help dealers provide better service when ordering parts or requesting special services. The frame number is printed on the front of the frame, and the engine number is on the motor gearbox.

Inspection and Maintenance Before Driving

Spot Check Before Driving

Failing to perform proper spot checks and maintenance before riding increases the risk of accidents or damage. Regularly check the motorcycle's operating conditions for safety.

Checks Include:

  1. Steering Device:
    • Smooth operation
    • Steering flexibility
    • No clearance or looseness
  2. Throttle:
    • Accelerator acts effectively under the cable action.
    • Operation is smooth, and the throttle handle returns to the closed state smoothly.
  3. Braking:
    • Handle and pedal operate normally.
    • Brake pads/discs are not worn to the maximum.
  4. Shock Absorber: Stable movement.
  5. Tyre:
    • Correct tire pressure.
    • Sufficient tread depth.
    • No signs of cracks or cuts.
  6. Lighting: All lighting devices and indicators operate normally.
  7. Horn: Operates correctly.

Daily Maintenance Items

  1. First Oil Change: After 2000 km, use special oil for four-stroke gearshift vehicles with lower viscosity to reduce transmission resistance. The original vehicle oil model is SJ 10W-40. Fill to the middle of the oil window. Change oil every 5000 km thereafter.
  2. Battery (Long-term Storage): If not used for a long time, unplug the battery. Optimal storage voltage is 72-74V. Check voltage every 30 days and supplement as needed.
  3. Chain: After each use, check chain tightness, clean, apply rust-proof lubricant, and replace when it reaches its limit.
  4. Cleaning Electricals: Clean switches and plugs with compressed air after washing the vehicle.
  5. Shock Absorber System: Maintain regularly and replace with special shock absorber oil.

Notes on Clutch Use: The motor's torque output differs from internal combustion engines. The clutch is used only for shifting gears. Do not use a 'half clutch' state for more than 10 seconds, as this can burn the clutch plate. Clutch plate damage from improper use is not covered by warranty. Use the clutch as required to prevent damage.

Driving Essentials

Get Familiar with Your Motorcycle Structure

Your driving skills and mechanical knowledge are the basis for safe driving. Practice in an open area with few cars until you are fully familiar with the motorcycle's mechanical properties and control methods. Practice makes perfect.

Understand Limits

Ride within your capabilities. Understand and observe limits to avoid accidents.

Safe Driving in Bad Weather

Pay special attention on rainy days, as braking distance can double. Avoid road hazards like covers, paint marks, and greasy patches to prevent skidding. Do not accelerate sharply when cornering. Exercise caution when crossing railways or bridges, and maintain a safe distance from vehicles ahead.

Defensive Riding

Frequent motorcycle accidents occur when following too closely or when other vehicles turn unexpectedly. Employ defensive measures, such as wearing bright, reflective clothing and avoiding other drivers' blind spots.

Note: Speeding increases the risk of losing control and accidents. Always drive at a speed suitable for the terrain, visibility, operating conditions, and your skills. Inexperienced riders may not fully utilize front brakes, leading to longer stopping distances and potential collisions. Use both front and rear brakes simultaneously to avoid slip and loss of control.

Long-term Storage Process and Motorcycle Cleaning

Precautions for Long-term Storage

  1. For long-term storage, unplug the main battery plug and the battery instrument communication plug.
  2. Charge the battery at the specified charging rate every month.
  3. Inflate the tires to the normal specification.

Motorcycle Cleaning

Follow these instructions when cleaning the motorcycle:

  1. Use clean tap water to remove dust and dirt. A soft sponge or brush can be used. Do not use hard materials that may scratch plastic parts.
  2. Use a sponge or soft cloth with neutral detergent or car detergent. Keep the sponge/cloth soaked in soap solution.
  3. Once dust is removed, rinse with tap water.
  4. After washing, wipe the motorcycle with a damp soft cloth and place it in a cool place to dry.
  5. Clean the instrument/meter gently with a damp cloth.

Note: Clean the motorcycle with clean water immediately after riding on roads containing salt or near the coast. Use cold water, as warm water may accelerate corrosion. Do not spray electrical components directly with a high-pressure washer. After cleaning or riding in the rain, the lamp lens may fog up; this fog should dissipate gradually when the lamp is turned on.
