Getting to Know the AGPtek Tablet
About the Touchscreen
Your tablet features an easy-to-use capacitive multi-touchscreen that responds to gentle fingertip touches. Multiple fingers can be used for gestures like zooming. Ensure your fingertips are not covered. A stylus designed for capacitive touchscreens may also be used. To prevent screen damage, avoid excessive force or using objects other than your finger or a compatible stylus. For optimal response, keep your hands clean.
Protective Film
A protective film is applied to the touchscreen for shipping. Remove it before use by peeling it from a corner.
Touchscreen Actions
Control the tablet using the touchscreen and three touch keys on the bezel. Manipulate icons, buttons, menus, and the on-screen keyboard with your fingertip.
- Touch: Tap an item (e.g., application icons, buttons, menu items, on-screen keyboard keys) to activate it.
- Touch and Hold: Touch an item and keep your fingertip on the screen until an alternate action occurs, such as opening an alternate menu or activating drag functionality.
- Drag: Touch and hold an item, then move your fingertip across the screen to reposition it (e.g., an application icon on the home screen).
- Swipe: Quickly move your fingertip across the screen to scroll through lists or change views (left/right). Avoid pausing on the screen to prevent accidental dragging.
- Double-tap: Quickly tap the screen twice on supported applications or webpages to zoom in. Within the browser, this action often fits the content to the screen width.
About the Orientation Sensor
The tablet has a sensor that automatically rotates most screens as you turn the device. This function works best when the tablet is held upright. The orientation sensor can be enabled or disabled in the Display settings menu.
Charging the Tablet
The tablet has a built-in rechargeable lithium-polymer battery. Charge the battery fully before first use. The charging percentage is displayed next to the battery icon. To charge:
- Plug one end of the included power adapter into an AC 100-240V outlet.
- Plug the other end into the tablet's Power jack.
- Disconnect the adapter when charging is complete.
Note: The battery may pose a fire or chemical burn risk if mistreated. Do not disassemble, incinerate, or heat the device. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight or leaving it in a closed car. Use only the indicated power source.
Inserting a Memory Card or USB Flash Drive
The tablet supports microSDHC memory cards and USB flash drives to expand storage or play media files. Align the memory card with the microSDHC slot (contacts facing down) and slide it in until it clicks. Insert USB flash drives into the USB slot. Avoid touching the gold contacts. To remove:
- Unmount: Go to Home screen > Launcher Tab [app-drawer-icon] > Settings > Storage. Touch "Unmount SD card" or "Unmount USB flash drive".
- Push the memory card further into the slot until it springs out, then grasp and remove it. Remove USB flash drives directly.
Do not remove cards or drives while data is being written or read to prevent damage or data corruption.
Resetting the Tablet
If the tablet freezes or malfunctions, perform a reset. Disconnect from a computer. Press and hold the Power key for approximately 8 seconds to turn it off, then press and hold the Power key again until the AGPtek logo appears.
