Epson DS-1760WN / DS-1730: Start Here
This guide provides essential steps for setting up your Epson scanner.
Getting Started
IMPORTANT: Before using this product, ensure you read these instructions and the safety instructions in the online User's Guide.
Note: The illustrations primarily show the DS-1760WN, but the instructions are the same for the DS-1730 unless otherwise noted.

Remove the packing materials
Carefully remove all packing materials from the scanner.

Turn on the scanner
Connect the power adapter and turn on the scanner.
Note: Do not connect the USB cable unless instructed to do so.

Install software
An internet connection is required to obtain the product software.
- Visit Epson's support site (e.g., epson.com/support) and search for your product to download the Drivers and Utilities Combo Package.
- Double-click the downloaded file to install the software. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up the connection.

Scan a document
- DS-1730: Press the start button.
- DS-1760WN: Select 'Computer' on the LCD screen, then select your computer. On the 'Scan to Computer' screen, select the Start icon.
The Document Capture Pro (Windows) or Document Capture (Mac) software will start automatically, and your document will be scanned.
Note: You can also place documents or photos directly on the scanner glass and scan them from there. Refer to your online User's Guide for detailed instructions.
Scanning from a Mobile Device (DS-1760WN)
To scan from an iOS or Android™ device, download and install the free Epson Smart Panel app from the App Store or Google Play™.

Scanning from a Computer
You can also scan from your computer using Document Capture Pro (Windows) or Document Capture (Mac).
- Windows 11/Windows 10: Click the Start button or search for 'Document Capture Pro' and select it.
- Windows 8.x: Navigate to the Apps screen and select Document Capture Pro.
- Windows 7: Click Start > All Programs > Epson Software > Document Capture Pro.
- Mac: Select Applications > Epson Software > Document Capture.

- Windows: Click the User's Guide icon on your desktop or Apps screen to access the online User's Guide.
- Mac: Click the User's Guide icon in the Applications/Epson Software folder to access the online User's Guide.
- If you do not have a User's Guide icon, visit the Epson website as described in "Technical Support.".
