- Durable, High-speed Scanning: Designed for fast, high-volume scanning, with speeds up to 65ppm/130ipm (DS-870) and 85ppm/170ipm (DS-970). Features a 100-sheet Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) and a high daily duty cycle of up to 9,000 pages, providing robust reliability. ?
- 1.44" Colour LCD: Offers a clear display of job contents at a glance. Users can view and assign up to 30 jobs at a time directly from the panel, enabling easy operation and scan setting adjustments without a PC. ?
- Automatic Size Recognition: Allows users to place documents of various sizes (A6 to A4) in the feeding tray. The scanner automatically detects and scans each document in its correct size, all within a single batch. ?
- Network Option: An optional Network Interface Unit enables the DS-870 and DS-970 scanners to be shared across a network, increasing productivity. Users can assign up to 30 customisable jobs for push scanning via Document Capture Pro (for Windows). ?
- Flatbed Option: The optional Flatbed Dock, compatible with the Epson Perfection V39, provides a flatbed scanning solution for objects like books or fragile documents that could be damaged in an ADF. Note: Ethernet connectivity is not supported with the flatbed option, and push scanning is not supported for the flatbed. ?
- Scan Fragile and A3 Documents Easily: Utilise a carrier sheet for scanning small, fragile, or A3-sized documents. Alternatively, activate the Slow Scan Mode for scanning fragile documents without a carrier sheet. ?
- User-friendly Features:
- Automatic Feeding Mode: Enables continuous scanning of large document volumes. Documents can be scanned one at a time without pre-sorting by size and saved into a single PDF. ?
- Double Feed Detection Skip Function: Allows scanning of documents that may have stickers or labels. ?
- Paper Protection Function: Automatically stops scanning upon detecting abnormal paper feeding or stapled/folded paper, preventing damage to important documents. ?️

- PDF Features for Added Convenience: Built-in OCR enables searchable PDF files. Users can also secure PDF files with passwords to prevent unauthorized viewing, editing, or printing. ?

- Document Capture Software: Facilitates easy scanning, viewing, editing, saving, and transferring of documents. It optically recognises barcodes, characters, and blank pages to separate documents into different folders and allows creation of up to 30 custom job settings. ?
- Document Capture Pro Server: Centralises scanning operations and manages a fleet of scanners without requiring driver installation on individual computers (Windows Server OS only). ☁️
- Epson Scan 2: Enhances text recognition in documents (colour, greyscale, black-and-white) by removing background noise for better clarity, especially useful for double-sided prints. ✍️
- Compatible with Epson Device Admin: Enables centralised management, monitoring, and configuration of Epson devices.
