Product Overview
The RISNÄS is a built-in refrigerator-freezer designed for efficient food storage. It features adjustable shelves, a vegetable drawer, and freezer compartments. The control panel allows for easy temperature adjustment.
First Use
Before plugging in the appliance, ensure it is placed in a dry, well-ventilated area. The ideal storage temperatures are factory-set. Allow the appliance to stand upright for at least 4 hours before connecting it to the power supply, especially after installation or if the doors have been reversed.
Clean the interior with a soft, damp cloth before the first use to remove any residual odors.
Note: After switching on, the appliance requires 4-5 hours to reach the correct temperature for storing a typical amount of food.
Operation
Control Panel
The control panel features a temperature setting button (A) and indicators (1-4) for the set temperature. Do not use sharp objects to operate the control panel.
When the appliance is plugged in, it turns on automatically. All indicators light up for 3 seconds, then only the 4°C indicator remains lit, and the compressor starts.
Temperature Adjustment: Press the temperature setting button (A) repeatedly until the desired temperature indicator lights up. The appliance will start operating at the new temperature within 15 seconds.
Recommended Temperatures:
- Refrigerator compartment: +4°C (factory setting)
- Freezer compartment: –18°C
Tips:
- Lower temperatures preserve food longer but consume more energy.
- Higher temperatures lead to faster spoilage but consume less energy.
Super Cooling Mode
This function rapidly cools newly added food. Activate it by pressing and holding the temperature setting button (A) for 3 seconds. Indicators 2°C and 3°C will light up. The mode automatically switches off after 6 hours or can be exited manually.
Super Freezing Mode
This function preserves the nutritional value of food by freezing it quickly. Activate it by pressing and holding the temperature setting button (A) for 5 seconds. Indicators 4°C and 6°C will light up. The mode automatically switches off after 40 hours or can be exited manually.
Turning Off the Appliance
To turn off the appliance, press and hold the temperature setting button (A) for 10 seconds. All indicators will turn off, and the appliance will stop operating within 15 seconds.
Tips for Storing Fresh Food
- Cover or wrap food, especially if it has a strong odor.
- Arrange food to allow air to circulate freely around it.
- Ensure adequate space in the refrigerator compartment for air circulation and for the doors to close properly.
- Do not store warm food or evaporating liquids in the refrigerator.
- Meat: wrap and place on the glass shelf above the vegetable drawer. Store for a maximum of 1-2 days.
- Cooked food and cold dishes: cover and place on any shelf.
- Fruits and vegetables: clean thoroughly and place in the vegetable drawer. Avoid storing bananas, potatoes, onions, and garlic in the refrigerator unless they are packaged.
- Butter and cheese: store in a special airtight container or wrap in foil or plastic bag to exclude as much air as possible.
- Bottles: close with caps and place in the door compartments.
Freezing Fresh Food
- The maximum amount of fresh food that can be frozen in 24 hours is indicated on the rating plate.
- Prevent fresh, unfrozen food from touching already frozen food to avoid raising their temperature.
- Place fresh food in the freezing area, leaving enough space between items for air circulation.
- Wrap food to protect it from water, moisture, or condensation, which prevents odor spread and ensures better storage.
- Leaner foods store better and longer than fatty foods; salt reduces shelf life.
- Never place warm food in the freezer. Cooling hot food before freezing saves energy and extends appliance life.
- Do not refreeze partially thawed food.
