Setting the Temperatures
Recommended Temperatures: Refrigerator compartment: +5°C (factory setting); Freezer compartment: -20°C (factory setting).
Upon first connection, temperatures are set to factory defaults. Subsequent connections or power-ups will restore the last used settings, unless the memory function is off.
To adjust the refrigerator temperature, tap the Refrigerator temperature button to cycle through available temperatures (2°C to 8°C) until your desired temperature is displayed. The Refrigerator indicator blinks during adjustment and stops when the set temperature takes effect.
To adjust the freezer temperature, tap the Freezer temperature button to cycle through available temperatures (-24°C to -16°C) until your desired temperature is displayed. The Freezer indicator blinks during adjustment and stops when the set temperature takes effect.
Tips
- You cannot adjust temperatures when the appliance is in vacation mode.
- Lower temperatures allow longer, safer food storage but consume more electricity.
- Higher temperatures lead to quicker food decay and lower electricity consumption.
Super Cooling Mode
This function is designed to rapidly cool newly placed food. Activate it when adding a significant amount of warm food (e.g., after grocery shopping) to ensure quick cooling and minimize temperature rise, preserving other items.
To activate, tap and hold the Refrigerator temperature button for 5 seconds. The Super cooling indicator blinks, and the display shows 2°C. The mode becomes effective when the indicator stops blinking.
The appliance automatically exits Super Cooling mode after 6 hours or when the refrigerator temperature reaches 2°C. To exit earlier, tap the Refrigerator temperature button.
Super Freezing Mode
This function preserves the nutritional value of food by freezing it quickly. It is recommended for large quantities of food or when rapid freezing is needed. This increases the freezer's freezing speed and energy consumption.
To activate, tap and hold the Freezer temperature button for 5 seconds. The Super freezing indicator blinks, and the display shows -24°C. The mode becomes effective when the indicator stops blinking.
The appliance automatically exits Super Freezing mode after 40 hours. To exit earlier, tap the Freezer temperature button.
Vacation Mode
Use Vacation mode to save energy when the appliance is unused for an extended period. In this mode, the refrigerator compartment is not cooled, and the freezer compartment is maintained at -20°C.
- Do not store food in the refrigerator compartment. Leave the door slightly ajar to allow air circulation and prevent mould and odours.
- The Refrigerator and Freezer temperature buttons are disabled in Vacation mode.
To activate Vacation mode, tap and hold the Vacation mode button for 3 seconds. The Vacation mode indicator blinks, and the display shows -20°C. The mode becomes effective when the indicator stops blinking.
To exit Vacation mode, tap and hold the Vacation mode button for 3 seconds. The Vacation mode indicator turns off.
Memory Function
The appliance has a memory function that typically resumes operation using the last used settings after power loss or switching off. It also resumes previous settings after exiting special modes.
- The appliance does not remember the time elapsed in Super Cooling or Super Freezing modes.
- The memory function is activated only after 30 minutes of continuous operation. If switched off sooner, the last settings are not saved.
Door Opening and Closing
The interior LED light turns on when the refrigerator door opens and off when it closes.
The LCD screen and indicators turn on when the door opens and turn off 15 seconds after it closes.
Door Opening Alarm
An alarm sounds if the refrigerator door remains open for over 120 seconds. Close the door or press any button to stop the alarm. If the door remains open after the alarm is stopped, it will sound again after another 120 seconds. If the door is left open for over 15 minutes, the alarm and LED light deactivate, and the appliance continues normal operation.
Note: The door opening alarm is disabled in Vacation mode.
Daily Use
Low Temperature Drawer
This drawer is the coldest zone in the refrigerator compartment, maintaining a temperature 1-2°C lower than the set temperature. It is ideal for perishable foods like fish, sausages, and meat, ensuring they stay fresh longer. Note: Store fresh meat for a maximum of two days for optimal freshness.
Extendable Glass Shelf
The appliance features an extendable glass shelf in the refrigerator compartment. The front half can be positioned in front of or under the rear half to suit your needs.
[Diagrams illustrating how to fold the extendable glass shelf. Step 1: Gently remove the front half. Step 2: Slide it into the lower rail and under the rear half.]
Vegetable Drawer with Humidity Control
The vegetable drawer is the best place for fresh fruit and vegetables. The humidity slider allows you to adjust the air humidity, potentially doubling the storage life of produce compared to conventional storage.
The air humidity can be set based on the type and quantity of products:
Products | Suggested Air Humidity |
---|---|
Mainly fruit or a large load | Lower |
Mainly vegetables, a mixed load, or a small load | Higher |
Notes:
- Cold-sensitive fruits (e.g., pineapple, banana, papaya, citrus) and vegetables (e.g., aubergines, cucumbers, zucchini, peppers, tomatoes, potatoes) should be stored outside the refrigerator at temperatures around 8-12°C for optimal quality and flavour.
- Condensation may form in the vegetable drawer depending on the food and quantity stored. Wipe condensation with a dry cloth and adjust humidity using the slider.
The humidity slider is located on the front of the vegetable drawer cover. Move it rightwards to increase humidity, and leftwards to decrease it.
[Diagrams showing the process for removing the vegetable drawer from its sliding base: 1. Pull out the drawer completely. 2. Lift the front of the drawer off the base. 3. Pull the drawer away from the base.]
[Diagrams showing the process for reinstalling the vegetable drawer: 1. Pull the base completely out. 2. Place the back of the drawer onto the base, sliding rear tabs into slots. 3. Insert the front tabs into the base.]
Hints
Hints for Fresh Food Refrigeration
- Cover or wrap food, especially if it has a strong aroma.
- Position food to allow free air circulation.
- Ensure adequate space in the refrigerator compartment for air circulation and for the door to close tightly.
- Do not store warm food or evaporating liquids.
- Meat (all types): wrap appropriately and place on the glass shelf above the vegetable drawer. Store for a maximum of 1-2 days.
- Cooked foods and cold dishes: cover and place on any shelf.
- Fruit and vegetables: clean thoroughly and place in the vegetable drawer. Bananas, potatoes, onions, and garlic should not be refrigerated unless packed.
- Butter and cheese: use airtight containers or wrap in foil/polyethylene bags to exclude as much air as possible.
- Bottles: close with caps and place on door balconies.
Freezing Fresh Food
- The maximum quantity of fresh food that can be frozen in 24 hours is indicated on the rating plate.
- Do not let fresh, unfrozen food touch already frozen food to prevent temperature rise.
- Place fresh food in the freezer compartment with enough space between items for air circulation.
- Wrap food to protect it from water, humidity, and condensation, preventing odour spread and ensuring better frozen food storage.
- Lean foods store better and longer than fatty foods; salt reduces food shelf life.
- Never place warm food in the freezer. Cooling hot foods before freezing saves energy and prolongs appliance life.
- Do not refreeze partially thawed food.
