Welcome to your new Denon AVR. This guide will help you set up your device and begin enjoying your audio and video experience.

Thank you for choosing a Denon AVR. Use the setup assistant to configure your device's settings during its initial installation. Follow the on-screen instructions on your connected TV to configure the settings. This manual guides you through the process until the setup assistant starts.

Note: To connect this device to a peripheral compatible with Deep Color, 4K, and ARC functions, use a "High Speed HDMI cable with Ethernet" that bears the HDMI logo.

Setup

Connect the Power Cord
Place the AVR near your TV and connect the power cord.

Connect the AVR to Your TV
Using a high-quality HDMI cable*, connect one end to the HDMI port labeled "ARC" on your TV. Connect the other end to the HDMI OUT TV port on your AVR.
What is ARC? Audio Return Channel (ARC) sends audio back to the AVR using the same HDMI cable that sends video from your AVR to your TV. This allows your AVR to process sound from your TV's built-in tuner and its applications.
*For 4K TVs, we recommend using an HDMI cable labeled "High Speed" and "with Ethernet".

Turn on Your TV
Use the TV remote control to power on your TV.

Select the Correct HDMI Input on Your TV
Use the TV remote control to select the appropriate HDMI input.

Install Batteries in the AVR Remote Control
Insert batteries into the remote control as shown. Batteries can be removed in the reverse order.

Turn on the AVR
Press the power button ⏻ on the remote control.

Verify the Connection
Check your TV screen to see if the following screen appears. If this screen does not appear, please go back and repeat the steps in the recommended sequence.

Note: If the device was previously configured, the setup assistant will not start automatically. In this case, you can access the setup assistant by pressing the SETUP button on the remote control and selecting "Setup Assistant" from the menu.

Follow the On-Screen Setup Assistant
The TV is now connected to the AVR. The setup assistant will guide you through connecting and configuring your speakers and components to your Denon AVR. Use the remote control and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the AVR settings using the setup assistant.

Music Playback - Bluetooth

Press the Bluetooth Button
Press and hold the Bluetooth button on the remote control for at least 3 seconds to enter pairing mode.

Activate Bluetooth on Your Mobile Device
Turn on Bluetooth on your mobile device.

Select "Denon AVR-S270BT"
Select "Denon AVR-S270BT" from the list of Bluetooth devices displayed on your mobile device.

Pair the Devices
When a number appears on this device's screen, verify that it is the same number displayed on the Bluetooth device's screen, then select "Pair" on both the Bluetooth device and this device.

Play Music
Play music from any application on your device.
To reconnect a previously paired Bluetooth device, start again from step 2.
