Quick Start Guide

Thank you for choosing a Denon AVR. Use the Setup Assistant to help configure the settings of this unit for the first time. Follow the instructions that appear on the TV screen connected to this unit to configure the settings. This manual describes the procedure up to the initialization of the Setup Assistant.

• When connecting this unit to a compatible device with Deep Color, 4K, and ARC functions, use a "High Speed HDMI cable with Ethernet" which is provided with the HDMI logo.

Setup
1. Connect the power cable
Place the AVR near the TV and connect the power cable.

2. Connect the AVR to the TV
With a high-quality HDMI cable*, connect one end to the HDMI port labeled "ARC" on the TV. Connect the other end to the HDMI OUT TV port of the AVR.
What is ARC?
An Audio Return Channel or "ARC" sends audio back to the AVR through the same HDMI cable that sends video from the AVR to the TV. This process allows the AVR to process the sound from the built-in tuner and TV applications.
* For 4K TV, we recommend using an HDMI cable with the labels "High Speed" and "with Ethernet".

3. Turn on the TV

4. Select the appropriate HDMI input on your TV

5. Insert batteries into the AVR remote control

• Batteries can be removed in reverse order.
6. Turn on the AVR
Press the [power-symbol] button on the remote control.
7. Verify the connection
Check if you can see this screen on the TV.

If this screen does not appear, return to the beginning and repeat the operations in the indicated order.
• If the unit has been configured previously, the Setup Assistant will not start automatically. In this case, you can access the Setup Assistant by pressing SETUP on the remote control and selecting Setup Assistant from the menu.
8. Follow the on-screen Setup Assistant
The TV is now connected to the AVR. The Setup Assistant will help you connect and configure the speakers and components of the Denon AVR. Use the remote control and follow the instructions that appear on the TV screen to complete the AVR settings through the Setup Assistant.

Play music - Bluetooth
1. Press and hold the Bluetooth button on the remote control for at least 3 seconds until it enters pairing mode.

2. Activate Bluetooth settings on your mobile device.

3. Select "Denon AVR-S270BT" from the list of Bluetooth devices on your mobile device.

4. When a number appears on this unit's display, confirm that it is the same number as the one displayed on the Bluetooth device's screen and select "Pair" for the Bluetooth device and the unit.
5. Play music using any application on your device.
[Bluetooth symbol] To reconnect a previously paired Bluetooth device, start from step 2.
