3 Setting Up Your Camera

Connection via the Foscam App (Recommended)

Before You Get Started:

Scan the QR code to download and install the Foscam APP. Available on the App Store, GET IT ON Google Play.

Recommended smartphone specifications for smoother video experience:

• iOS: version 11 or higher.
• Android: 5.0 or higher, with a Graphics Processing Unit (GPU).

Note: Update the APP to the latest version for the best experience.

Wired Connection

1. Tighten the [Antenna] clockwise and ensure it is in a vertical position.
2. Plug the [Power Adapter] into the camera and wait for a few seconds until hearing the voice prompt "Ready for WiFi configuration".
3. Ensure your smartphone is connected to your Wi-Fi router (2.4 GHz Wi-Fi or 5 GHz Wi-Fi).
4. Open the Foscam APP. Register a Foscam account or sign in if you already have one.
5. Follow the steps in the app:

1. Tap 'Add Device'.
2. Select 'Scan the QR code' or 'Search in LAN' or 'Manually add'.
3. For Wi-Fi configuration, scan the QR code on your device with the app.
4. Power the device on until the voice prompt "Hello foscam" is heard.
5. Proceed with 'Wi-Fi configuration'. Keep the device and mobile phone close to the router.
6. Tap 'Next' after hearing "Hello Foscam".
7. Enter your Wi-Fi password and tap 'Confirm'.
8. The best distance for scanning the QR code is 6-12 inches (15-30cm).
9. Tips for QR code scanning: Place the QR code on the phone screen about 10-15cm (3.94-5.9in) away. If difficulties arise, try moving the screen slowly.
10. Confirm you have heard the voice prompt "WiFi connecting" and tap 'Next'.
11. The device will be added successfully (this process requires approximately 2 minutes). Do not exit the app or turn off the device.
12. Set a name for the device (e.g., Garden, Balcony, Bed Room). Save the device's QR code to your mobile system album for easier re-adding.
13. Camera Login: Set a new camera username and password, then re-enter the password and tap 'Submit'.

Note: If the adding process fails, reset your camera and try again.

Safety Warning: The cords on this product are a potential strangulation hazard. For child safety, please keep these cords out of the reach of children.

Security Tips:

• Change the camera's password regularly, using a combination of numbers, letters, and special characters.
• Regularly update your camera with the latest available software and firmware for the best experience.

4 PC Access Your Camera

Foscam VMS

Foscam VMS is a PC tool compatible with Windows & Mac, supporting all Foscam HD cameras and up to 36 cameras simultaneously. It does not require plug-ins.

Download the Windows version from foscam.com/vms. Download the Mac version from the App Store: https://apps.apple.com/cn/app/foscamvms/id1521202507?mt=12

Note: Update Foscam VMS to the latest version for the best experience.

Add the IP Camera using Foscam VMS

1. Run Foscam VMS, create a local administrator account, and log in.
2. Tap the '+' icon and follow the setup wizard to add your camera.

5 Hardware Installation

Fixate the camera on your preferred location using the provided screws. Please Note: Ensure that rain or water will not reach the connector ports at the end of the pig tail wiring, as these connectors are not weather-resistant.

6 Important Notice

Camera Username & Password

The camera username and password are used to access and manage your camera. A strong password significantly improves security. If forgotten, press and hold the [Reset Button] for more than 10 seconds.

How to format Micro SD card

1. Press the [Reset Button] and hold it for more than 10 seconds.
2. Scan the QR code to download the "Foscam Format" Tool.
3. Open the "Foscam Format" Tool.
4. Select the SD card (e.g., F:\).
5. Accept the Terms of Use.
6. Click 'Format'. A warning will appear stating all data will be erased. Confirm to proceed.

Storage Media

Your camera supports Cloud, NVR (Network Video Recorder), and Micro SD card (supports FAT32 and exFAT format) storage options.

8 Troubleshooting

IP cameras is not powering on

If your camera is not powering on, check the following:

1. Verify the outlet is working by trying a different outlet.
2. Check the DC adapter. If possible, try another working 12V/4A power adapter.
3. If the issue persists, contact Foscam support.

How to re-configure the WiFi connection for Foscam cameras after router changed?

1. Connect the camera to your router with an Ethernet cable. If live video is visible in the Foscam app, go to camera settings > WiFi settings to select the new Wi-Fi name and enter the password. After setup, disconnect the Ethernet cable and wait for the camera to connect wirelessly.
2. Alternatively, reset the camera first (refer to https://www.foscam.com/faqs/view.html?id=13 for reset steps). Then, open the Foscam app, scan the camera's QR code to set up the wireless connection, ensuring your cellphone is connected to the new Wi-Fi.
