3 Setting Up Your Camera: Connection via the Foscam App (Recommended)
Before You Get Started
Download and install the Foscam APP by scanning the QR code provided in the physical document. (Note: QR code itself is excluded from output).
Smartphone Specifications:
- iOS: version 11 or higher.
- Android: 5.0 or higher, with a Graphics Processing Unit (GPU).
Note: Update the APP to the latest version for the best experience.
Wi-Fi Connection
- Tighten the antenna clockwise ? and ensure it is vertical.
- Plug the power adapter ? into the camera. Wait for the "Ready for WiFi configuration" voice prompt.
- Ensure your smartphone is connected to your Wi-Fi router (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz).
- Open the Foscam APP. Register a new account or sign in.
- Follow the app steps:
- Tap "Add Device".
- Select "Scan QR Code".
- Scan the QR code located on your device.
- Confirm you heard the "Hello Foscam" voice prompt and tap "Next".
- For Wi-Fi configuration, keep the device and phone close to the router (6-12 inches / 15-30cm).
- Point the phone's QR code towards the camera.
- Enter your Wi-Fi password and tap "Confirm".
- Confirm you heard the "WiFi connecting" voice prompt and tap "Next".
- Wait for the device to add successfully (approx. 2 minutes).
- Set a device name (e.g., "Garden", "Living Room").
- Save the device's QR code to your mobile album for easier re-adding.
- Tap "Submit" after setting a new camera username and password.
Note: If adding fails, reset the camera and try again.
4 PC Access Your Camera
Foscam VMS
Foscam VMS is a PC tool for managing multiple Foscam HD cameras (up to 36). It is compatible with Windows and Mac.
Download Foscam VMS:

- Mac: Mac App Store
Note: Update Foscam VMS to the latest version for the best experience.
Add the IP Camera via VMS
- Run Foscam VMS, create a local administrator account, and log in.
- Tap the "+" icon and follow the setup wizard to add your camera.

5 Hardware Installation
Point the camera at the desired location and use the provided screws to mount it. The camera offers adjustable angles: 0-90° vertically and 0-360° horizontally.
Please Note: Ensure that rain or water does not reach the connector ports at the end of the tailcable, as these connectors are not weather-resistant.
6 Important Notice
Camera Username & Password
Use strong, unique passwords for camera access and management to enhance security. If forgotten, press the "Reset" button (hold for 3-5 seconds) to reset the camera.
Storage Media
Your camera supports Cloud Storage ☁️, NVR (Network Video Recorder) [NVR], and Micro SD card (FAT32 & exFAT format) storage.
Micro SD Card Formatting
Follow these steps to format your Micro SD card:
- Scan the QR code to download the "Foscam Format" Tool (link: foscam.com/downloads/app_software.html).
- Open the "Foscam Format" Tool.
- Select the SD card (e.g., F:\).
- Accept the Terms of Use.
- Click "Format". Confirm data erasure when prompted.
- Wait for "Format ready" [Format Complete].

9 Troubleshooting
IP Camera is not powering on
- Check if the outlet is working. Try a different outlet.
- Check the DC adapter. Try another compatible 12V/1A power adapter.
- If the issue persists, contact Foscam support.
How to re-configure WiFi after router change
- Connect the camera to your router via an Ethernet cable.
- In the Foscam app, go to Camera Settings > WiFi Settings, select the new Wi-Fi name, and enter the password.
- Disconnect the Ethernet cable and wait for the camera to connect wirelessly.
- Alternatively, reset the camera (press and hold Reset button for 3-5 seconds).
- Open the Foscam app, scan the camera's QR code to set up the wireless connection, ensuring your phone is connected to the new Wi-Fi.
