3 Setting Up Your Camera: Wired Connection via the Foscam App (Recommended)

Before You Get Started

Download and install the Foscam APP by scanning the provided QR code. Available on the [App Store] and [Google Play].

Wired Connection Steps

1. Tighten the antenna clockwise [⚙️] to ensure it is in a vertical position.
2. Connect the camera to your router using an Ethernet cable [?].
3. Plug the power adapter into the camera and wait for approximately 1 minute [?].
4. Ensure your smartphone is connected to the same WiFi network as the camera [?].
5. Open the Foscam APP. Register for a new Foscam account or sign in if you already have one.
6. After logging in, select "Tap to add a camera" or the "+" icon in the upper right corner. Then, select "Scan the QR code" and scan the QR code located on the bottom of your camera.
7. You will see two options for adding the camera. Please choose the corresponding method:
   1. Configure WiFi: After a few seconds, tap "Configure WiFi". Select your WiFi network and enter your WiFi password. Then, set the camera name and tap "Save".
   2. Skip WiFi Configuration: After a few seconds, tap "Skip" in the "WiFi Settings" interface. Then, set the camera name and tap "Save".

   Note: It is strongly recommended to configure WiFi at this step. If the adding process fails, reset your camera and try again.

8. Tapping the play button will take you to the "Camera Login" interface. For security, set a new username and password for your camera before viewing live video [?].
9. After completing these steps, your camera is ready for use. If you chose to skip WiFi configuration (step 7.2), you can configure WiFi later by tapping the play button, then the [Settings icon] button, selecting "WiFi Settings", choosing your network, and entering the password. Once WiFi is set up, you can unplug the Ethernet cable and the camera will work normally.

Security Tips

• Regularly change the camera's password using a combination of numbers, letters, and special characters.
• Keep your camera's software and firmware updated for the best experience.
• For a smoother video experience, ensure your smartphone meets the following specifications: iOS version 8.1 or higher, or Android version 4.1 or higher with a GPU. Update the APP to the latest version for optimal performance.
• The camera supports dual-band 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi networks. Choose the channel with the stronger signal (e.g., XXXXX_2.4G or XXXXX_5G).

4 Other Ways to Access Your Camera

Foscam VMS

Foscam VMS is a PC application (Windows & Mac) that supports up to 36 Foscam HD cameras. Download it from foscam.com/vms or the Mac App Store. Ensure Foscam VMS is updated to the latest version.

To add a camera in Foscam VMS: Run VMS, create an administrator account, log in, tap the "+" icon, and follow the setup wizard.

Foscam Cloud Service

Access your camera via the Foscam Cloud website: https://www.myfoscam.com.

Benefits include simple remote access and management of WiFi security cameras, access to the latest features, and cloud storage.

If you have a Foscam App account, you can use the same login credentials for Foscam Cloud.

5 Hardware Installation

SD Card Installation (Optional)

1. Loosen the device cover by rotating it counter-clockwise and remove it.
2. Insert a micro SD card into the SD card slot.
3. Fasten the cover by rotating it clockwise. (Skip steps 1-3 if not using an SD card).

Camera Mounting

4. Install the mounting plate in the desired location. For optimal viewing, position the camera at least 30cm (11.8 inches) away from adjacent walls.
5. Loosen the anti-theft screw on the mounting plate and rotate it counter-clockwise until points 'a' and 'b' align, allowing the plate to be removed.
6. Install the mounting plate onto a wall or ceiling using the provided fixing screws [screws].
7. Align points 'a' and 'b' on the camera base with the mounting plate and insert the camera. Rotate until 'a' and 'b' are no longer aligned to secure the camera. Tighten the anti-theft screw to prevent theft.

Wiring

8. Pass the wire through the gap in the mounting plate.
9. Connect the camera to your router via an Ethernet cable.
10. Connect the power adapter to the camera.

Adjust the camera's lens angle using the Foscam app.

6 Important Notice

Camera Username & Password

A strong username and password are crucial for camera security. If forgotten, press and hold the "Reset" button [Reset button] for over 10 seconds while the camera is powered on. The camera will reboot with default settings.

Foscam Cloud Service Account Username & Password

Your Foscam App and Foscam Cloud service account credentials can be the same. Register on either platform.

Storage Media

The camera supports Cloud, NVR (Network Video Recorder), and Micro SD card (FAT-32 format) storage. Foscam NVR devices are recommended for extensive video recording.

Firmware Upgrade

Upgrade firmware via the Foscam App ("One-Key Online Upgrade") or download from the official website: foscam.com/upgrades.

Safety Tips

• Use only the provided power supply.
• Install the camera securely with the provided screws [screws].
• Operate the camera within the specified temperature range.
• Keep camera connectors in a cool, dry place to prevent fire or electric shock.
• Keep the camera and its cords out of reach of small children. This product is not a toy and requires adult supervision.
• Change the default port to a higher range for enhanced connection security. Refer to foscam.com/downloads for instructions.
• Regularly check camera logs for IP addresses accessing the device.
• The cords pose a strangulation hazard; keep them away from children.
