3. Setting Up Your Camera: Connection via the Foscam App (Recommended)
Before You Get Started
- Scan the QR code below to download and install the Foscam APP. [Scan QR Code]
- Plug the power adapter into the camera and wait for the voice prompt "Ready for WiFi configuration".
Smartphone Requirements:
- iOS: version 11 or higher.
- Android: 5.0 or higher, using a device with a Graphics Processing Unit (GPU).
For the best experience, please update the APP to the latest version!
Wi-Fi Connection Steps:
- Tighten the Wi-Fi antenna clockwise and ensure it is in a vertical position. ?⬆️
- Connect your smartphone to your WiFi router (supports 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz Wi-Fi). ?
- Open the Foscam APP. Register a Foscam account or sign in if you already have one.
- Follow the steps in the app:
- Tap "My Device" ➡️ "Add Device" ➡️ "Add Cameras".
- Tap "Scan QR Code" or "Manually add".
- Power the device on until it prompts "Hello".
- For Wi-Fi configuration, keep the device and mobile phone close to the router.
- Scan the QR code displayed on your phone screen with the camera. The best distance is 6-12 inches (15-30cm). ?➡️? (15-30cm)
- Enter your WiFi password and confirm.
- The app will show "Wi-Fi configuration". Wait for approximately 2 minutes for the process to complete. Do not turn off the device.
- Set a name for your camera (e.g., Doorway, Balcony, Bedroom, Kitchen, Garden).
- Set a new username and password for your camera. Submit.
If the adding process fails, please reset your camera and try adding again.
Security Tips:
- Change the camera's password regularly, using a combination of numbers, letters, and special characters.
- Update your camera with the latest available software and firmware.
The cords on this product are a potential strangulation hazard. For child safety, please keep these cords out of the reach of children.
4. PC Access Your Camera
Foscam VMS: A tool for PCs (Windows & Mac) that supports all Foscam HD cameras and up to 36 cameras simultaneously. It does not require plug-ins.
- Download the Windows version from foscam.com/vms.
- Download the Mac version from the App Store: Apple App Store.
For the best experience, please update Foscam VMS to the latest version!
Adding the IP Camera via Foscam VMS:
- Run Foscam VMS, create a local administrator account, and log in.
- Tap the "+" icon and follow the setup wizard to add your camera.

5. Hardware Installation
Fixate the camera on your preferred location using the provided screws. Ensure that water does not reach the connector ports, as they are not weather-resistant.
6. Important Notice
Camera Username & Password
The camera username and password are used to access and manage your camera. A strong password significantly improves security. If forgotten, press the "Reset" button for 3-5 seconds until you hear "reset succeed". ? (3-5s)
Storage Media
Your camera supports cloud, NVR (Network Video Recorder), and Micro SD card (FAT32 and exFAT format) storage. ☁️, ?, ?️
Micro SD Card Formatting
To format a Micro SD card:
- Download the "Foscam Format" tool from foscam.com/downloads/app_software.html. ⬇️
- Open the "Foscam Format" tool.
- Select the SD card (e.g., Drive F:).
- Accept the terms of use.
- Click "Format".
Warning: All data on the disk will be erased.

8. Troubleshooting
IP Camera is Not Powering On
- Check if the power outlet is working. Try a different outlet.
- Check the DC adapter. Try another 12V/4A power adapter if available.
- If the issue persists, contact Foscam support.
How to Re-configure WiFi After Router Change
- Method 1: Connect the camera to your router with an Ethernet cable. In the Foscam app, go to Camera Settings -> WiFi Settings, select the new WiFi name, and enter the password. After setup, disconnect the Ethernet cable.
- Method 2: Reset the camera by pressing the "Reset" button for 3-5 seconds. Then, open the Foscam app, scan the camera's QR code to set up the wireless connection. Ensure your cellphone is connected to the new WiFi.
