Safety Tips
Observe the Following: Read and Save These Instructions
WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or personal injury, mount to an outlet box marked 'Acceptable for Fan Support of 35 LBS (15.9 KG) or Less' and use mounting screws provided with the outlet box and/or support directly from building structure. Most outlet boxes commonly used for the support of luminaries are not acceptable for fan support and may need to be replaced. Consult a qualified electrician if in doubt.
- Installation work and electrical wiring must be done by qualified person(s) in accordance with all applicable codes and standards (ANSI/NFPA 70), including fire-rated construction.
- Use this unit only in the manner intended by the manufacturer. If you have any questions, contact the manufacturer.
- After making wire connections, gently push connections into outlet box with wire nuts pointing up. Spread wires apart with the grounded conductor and equipment-grounding conductor on one side of the outlet box, and ungrounded conductor on the other side.
- Before installing the fan, switch power off at the service panel and lock the service disconnecting means to prevent accidental power-on. If the means cannot be locked, fasten a prominent warning device (e.g., a tag) to the service panel.
- Read all instructions and safety information before installing your new fan. Review the accompanying assembly diagrams.
- When cutting or drilling into walls or ceilings, do not damage electrical wiring or other hidden utilities.
- Ensure the installation site allows fan blades to rotate without obstructions. Maintain a minimum clearance of 7 feet from the floor to the trailing edge of the blade.
- Mount the fan to an outlet box marked suitable for fan support, using provided mounting screws. Mounting must support at least 35 lbs.
- WARNING! Do not bend blade holders during installation, balancing, or cleaning. Do not insert foreign objects between rotating blades.
- Attach the mounting bracket using only hardware supplied with the outlet box. Fan must be mounted to an outlet box marked "Acceptable for Fan Support".
- WARNING! Do not use this fan with any solid-state fan speed control device or variable speed control.
- If installed over a tub or shower, it must be marked as appropriate for the application.
- Never place a switch where it can be reached from a tub or shower.
- Be aware that fan operation may affect combustion airflow for fuel-burning equipment. Follow heating equipment manufacturer's guidelines and safety standards (NFPA, ASHRAE, local codes).
- Before servicing or cleaning, switch power off at the service panel and lock the service disconnecting means. If it cannot be locked, fasten a prominent warning device to the service panel.
- Check and re-tighten all set screws where necessary before installation.
- This appliance is not intended for use by young children or infirm persons without supervision. Supervise children to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
- Suitable for use in wet locations when installed in a GFCI protected branch circuit.
- Use only with light kits marked 'suitable for use in wet locations'.

Operation and Maintenance
Operation:
Turn on power and check fan operation. The pull chain controls fan speeds: 1 pull - high; 2 pulls - medium; 3 pulls - low; 4 pulls - off. Speed settings for warm or cool weather depend on room size, ceiling height, number of fans, etc.
The slide switch controls direction: forward or reverse.
Warm Weather (Forward): Fan turns counterclockwise. Downward airflow creates a cooling effect, allowing higher AC settings without affecting comfort.
Cool Weather (Reverse): Fan turns clockwise. Upward airflow moves warm air from the ceiling, allowing lower heating unit settings without affecting comfort. (Refer to Safety Tips, point 14, when operating in this position.)
NOTE: Turn off and wait for the fan to stop before changing the forward/reverse slide switch setting.
Maintenance:
- Check support connections, brackets, and blade attachments twice a year for looseness. Ensure they are secure.
- Clean the fan periodically with a soft brush or lint-free cloth to avoid scratching. Do not use water, as it could damage the motor, wood, or cause electrical shock. The plating is sealed with lacquer to minimize discoloration.
- The motor has permanently lubricated bearings; no oiling is necessary.
Airflow Directions:

Diagram B: Upward airflow for heating (fan rotates clockwise).
Troubleshooting
If you experience difficulty operating your fan, it may be due to incorrect assembly, installation, or wiring. Check this chart for common issues.
- If fan does not start: Check fuses/breakers, wire connections (ensure main power is off), and forward/reverse switch position (must be up or down, not middle). If issues persist, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt internal electrical troubleshooting.
- If fan sounds noisy: Ensure all screws in the motor housing and blade holders are snug (not over-tightened). Avoid solid-state variable speed controls. Allow a 24-hour break-in period for new fan noises to subside.
- If fan wobbles: Ensure all blade screws and blade holder screws are tight. Verify canopy and mounting bracket are securely fastened to the ceiling joist. Interchanging adjacent blades may help redistribute weight for smoother operation.
- If light does not work: Check wire connections in the switch housing and for faulty light bulbs. If the light kit still does not operate, contact a qualified electrician.
