When expecting freezing temperatures, remove the timer from the hose faucet and store indoors to avoid potential freeze damage.
The filter traps dirt particles, prolonging the life of the timer. Clean the filter regularly and replace it if worn.

Overview
The Orbit 1-Outlet Simple Watering Timer is designed for easy garden irrigation. It features a durable construction with a filter to protect the timer mechanism and a faucet connection.
Key Components:
- FILTER: Traps debris.
- FAUCET CONNECTION: Connects to your outdoor faucet.
- LOW BATTERY INDICATOR: Alerts when batteries need replacement.
- DIAL: Used for navigation and selection.
- OUTLET: Where the hose connects.
Control Functions
The DIAL allows you to navigate through options and make selections by pushing it. The primary functions controlled by the dial are:
- SET CLOCK: Set the current time of day.
- START TIME: Select the desired time for watering to begin.
- HOW LONG: Determine the duration of each watering cycle, from 1 to 360 minutes.
- HOW OFTEN: Choose the frequency of watering cycles (e.g., every 1 hour, 3 hours, 6 hours, 12 hours, or from 1 to 7 days).
- AUTO/MANUAL: Activates programmed watering schedules. Press once to water manually. Press and hold to set a rain delay.
- OFF: Turns off all watering functions.
Installing the Batteries
The timer requires two AA (1.5V) alkaline batteries (not included).
- Remove the battery tray located on the back of the timer by sliding or pulling it out.
- Insert two AA alkaline batteries and replace the tray.
Note: Firmly replace the battery tray to ensure water resistance and maximize battery life. The tray is fully inserted when it does not pull out easily. Used or dead batteries must be removed and disposed of properly. Replace batteries when the low battery icon appears on the display. Do not dispose of batteries in fire, as they may explode or leak. Remove batteries when storing the timer.
Programming the Timer
Set Clock
Follow these steps to set the current time:
- Turn the dial so the arrow points to SET CLOCK.
- Press the dial to select. The hour will begin to flash.
- Turn the dial until the current hour is displayed, then press to confirm. The minutes will begin to flash.
- Turn the dial until the current minutes are displayed, then press to confirm. The AM/PM indicator will begin to flash.
- Turn the dial to select AM or PM, then press to confirm.
The display will now show the set time of day, for example, 1:00 PM.
Start Time
Set the time you want watering to begin:
- Turn the dial so the arrow points to START TIME.
- Press the dial to select. The hour will begin to flash.
- Turn the dial until the desired start time hour is displayed, then press to confirm. The minutes will begin to flash.
- Turn the dial until the desired minutes is displayed, then press to confirm. The AM/PM indicator will begin to flash.
- Turn the dial to select AM or PM, then press to confirm.
The display will show the next scheduled start time, for example, 6:00 AM.
How Long
Set the duration for each watering cycle:
- Turn the dial so the arrow points to HOW LONG.
- Press the dial to select. The minutes will begin to flash.
- Turn the dial until the desired number of minutes (from 1 to 360) is displayed, then press to confirm.
The display will show the set duration, for example, 30 MINUTES.
How Often
Set the frequency for watering cycles:
- Turn the dial so the arrow points to HOW OFTEN.
- Press the dial to select. The frequency options (hours or days) will begin to flash.
- Turn the dial until the desired frequency is displayed (e.g., 1 hour, 3 hours, 6 hours, 12 hours, or 1 to 7 days), then press to confirm.
Note: '1' indicates watering every day, '2' indicates watering every other day, and so on.
Congratulations! Your timer is now programmed. Turn the dial to AUTO to enable programmed watering. The screen will alternate between displaying the current clock time and the next scheduled start time.
Additional Features
Rain Delay
Rain delay allows you to postpone watering for a set period without reprogramming the timer.
To activate rain delay:
- Turn the dial to AUTO/MANUAL.
- Press and hold the dial for 3 seconds.
- The [rain-delay-symbol] will appear, and the number of days for the delay will begin to flash.
- Turn the dial until the desired number of days (1 to 7) is displayed, then press to confirm.
The screen will flash between the clock and the remaining time before the programmed cycle resumes.
Note: To remove the rain delay, turn the dial to OFF and then back to AUTO/MANUAL to resume your programmed watering schedule.
Manual/Hand Watering
This feature allows you to water manually for a specific duration without interrupting your set schedule.
To activate manual watering:
- Turn the dial to AUTO/MANUAL.
- Press the dial to select.
- 'MANUAL' will appear on the display, and the watering duration in minutes will begin to flash.
- Turn the dial until the desired number of minutes (from 1 to 360) is displayed, then press to confirm.
The [manual-icon] will appear, and the screen will flash between the clock and the time remaining before the programmed cycle resumes.
Note: There may be a slight delay between pressing the dial and when watering begins.
Note: To stop manual watering, turn the dial to OFF and then back to AUTO/MANUAL to resume your programmed watering schedule.
Troubleshooting
Common Issues and Solutions
Water does not come on at the desired time.
- Check if: The clock is set to the correct time, including AM and PM.
- Check if: The dial is set to "AUTO/MANUAL".
- Check if: The start time is set to the desired time, including AM and PM.
- Check if: Rain Delay is active.
Timer does not water.
- Check if: The timer is set to AUTO/MANUAL.
- Check if: The hose faucet is turned on.
- Check if: The batteries are low.
- Check if: The clock is set to the correct time, including AM and PM.
- Check if: Rain Delay is active.
Water won't turn off.
- Check if: The HOW LONG setting is for the desired duration.
- Check if: The HOW OFTEN setting is for the desired interval (hour or day).
