Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. How often should the ice maker be cleaned?

Cleaning frequency depends on usage. For frequent use, cleaning at least once a week is recommended. Failure to clean can lead to scale buildup, which may clog the pump and impair operation.

2. How should the unit be cleaned?

Use water with lemon or a low-acidity vinegar-water solution. After cleaning, empty the unit and rinse with clean water. Emptying the water tank at least every three days helps maintain low water hardness, ensures impurity drainage, and prevents scale buildup.

3. Why are the ice cubes cloudy?

This indicates low water quality. Use only drinking water or distilled water. If water quality is a persistent issue, consider installing a faucet filter system.

4. Can I put milk or juice in the water tank?

Only water should be used for ice production. Liquids other than water can easily clog the pump and shorten its lifespan. Milk proteins can also lead to calcification, potentially damaging the internal PU water pipe.

5. Why do the ice cubes melt so quickly?

The ice maker is not a refrigeration unit and does not regulate temperature. High ambient temperatures, especially in summer, accelerate melting. Closing the lid can help maintain internal temperature. Some users place electric fans nearby to improve air circulation. If not using the ice immediately, store it in a freezer.

6. Why are the ice cubes sticking together?

This can be due to low room or water temperature. Add more water to raise the temperature. If the problem persists, the evaporator may be low or deformed. Gently break apart the ice cubes manually.

7. Why do the ice cubes have a plastic taste/smell?

Ice cubes should be tasteless. If they have a plastic smell, first clean the interior with water and lemon. Run several ice-making cycles and discard the ice. Finally, rinse the unit with distilled water.

8. Why is the unit noisy during operation?

Some operational noise is normal. Closing the lid can reduce noise. If the pump is noisy, turn off the unit. After cleaning the water tank filter, restart the unit to see if the noise subsides.

9. Why is there water leaking from the unit?

A water pipe inside the unit may have detached during transport. You can try to reattach it by removing the rear cover. If unsure, contact Euhomy support for a video guide.

10. Why does water flow, but no ice is produced?

If the ambient temperature and refrigerant line are normal, there might be a refrigerant leak. Please send a video or photo for assistance from Euhomy support.

11. Why are the ice cubes small?

High ambient temperatures, high initial water temperature, or a deformed evaporator column can lead to insufficient ice production. Allow a few cycles or use cooler water. If the evaporator column is deformed, try to manually restore its original shape.

Automatic Self-Cleaning Program

To start the self-cleaning program (30 minutes), plug in the unit and press and hold the "ON/OFF" button for over 5 seconds. The "S" and "L" indicators will flash alternately during cleaning. After cleaning, drain the internal tank using the drain plug.

Attaching the Handle

Align the handle angle with the mounting hole on the unit and secure it.

Initial Cleaning Before First Use

  1. Remove the ice basket.
  2. Clean the interior with a mild detergent, warm water, and a soft cloth.
  3. Rinse the interior with clean water and drain using the front drain plug.
  4. Regularly clean the exterior with a mild detergent and warm water solution.
  5. Dry the interior and exterior with a clean, soft cloth.
  6. If the unit will not be used for an extended period, completely drain and dry the tank.

Using the Ice Maker

  1. Open the lid, remove the ice basket, and fill the tank with water. Do not fill above the MAX water level mark.
  2. Press the "ON/OFF" button on the control panel to start the ice-making cycle.
  3. Select the ice cube size by pressing the "Select" button. If the room temperature is below 15°C (59°F), choose small ice cubes to prevent sticking.
  4. The ice-making cycle takes approximately 6 to 13 minutes, depending on the selected ice size and ambient temperature. The recommended ambient temperature is between 10°C (50°F) and 38°C (100°F).
  5. If the pump cannot supply water, the ice maker will automatically stop, and the "ADD WATER" indicator will light up. Turn off the unit, refill the water tank to the MAX level, and press "ON/OFF" again. Wait at least 3 minutes before restarting to allow the refrigerant in the compressor to stabilize.
  6. The ice maker stops when the ice basket is full, and the "ICE FULL" indicator lights up.
  7. Warning: Direct sunlight or reflections can interfere with the infrared sensor. If the unit does not stop when the ice covers the sensor, move it to a location out of direct sunlight.
  8. Change the water in the tank every 24 hours for hygiene. If the unit is not in use, empty and dry the tank.
