Intended Use: The LHQM Exit Combo is designed for applications requiring both an exit sign and emergency lighting equipment in a single product. It offers a sleek, modern, and uniform aesthetic suitable for general purpose life safety applications. An optional high-output version is available to power remote emergency lighting heads. Certain airborne contaminants may affect the integrity of acrylic and polycarbonate components. Refer to the Acrylic-Polycarbonate Compatibility table for suitable uses.
Construction
Engineering-grade thermoplastic housing is impact-resistant, scratch-resistant, and corrosion-proof. It features a UL94-V0 flame rating and UV-stable resin to resist discoloration from light sources. The rugged uni-body housing assembles without additional fasteners. The faceplate and back cover are interchangeable, secured by positive snap-fit tabs that allow for easy removal for internal access. Red/green color panels are reinforced and impact-resistant. Letters are 6 inches high with a 3/4 inch stroke, rated for 100 ft. viewing distance per UL924 standards. Optics
LED light heads are adjustable forward/backwards, up/down, and left/right for optimal positioning. LEDs operate for a minimum of 90 minutes in battery back-up mode. The typical life of the exit combo LED is over 5 years, based on 24/7 operation. Each light head uses one 1.2W LED.
Electrical
The unit is multi-volt, operating on 120-277VAC, 50/60Hz. The standard LHQM model uses a 7.2V, 1200mAh Ni-Cad battery. The LHQM HO (High Output) model uses a 7.2V, 1800mAh Ni-Cad battery and provides 2.4W of remote capacity.
Installation
The mounting canopy supports both top and back mounting. Its design features a cam locking pin to secure the sign to the canopy, ensuring no visible hardware from the floor. The product ships as a single-sided exit with an additional faceplate and red/green color panels, allowing for easy conversion to a double-sided exit. Directional chevrons can be easily removed and reinserted as needed.
Listings
The LHQM is UL Listed and UL damp location rated for 50°F to 104°F (10°C to 40°C). It meets applicable requirements for UL 924, NFPA 101 (Life Safety Code), NFPA 70 (NEC), California Energy Commission Title 20 section 1605.3 (W)(4), and OSHA. It also meets FCC Title 47, Part 15, Subpart B requirements and is NOM certified.
