Applicable models include:
- ML6420A3007
- ML6420A3015
- ML6420A3023
- ML6420A3031
- ML7420A6009
- ML7420A6017
Installation
The following steps detail the installation process for the valve actuators.
Step A1: Mounting to Valve Body
Description: Shows the actuator being mounted onto a valve body. Ensure a minimum clearance of 80 mm above the actuator and 100 mm clearance around the valve assembly for proper installation and access.
Step A2: Connecting Actuator to Valve Stem
Description: Illustrates connecting the actuator to the valve stem. The connection requires approximately 108 mm of stem travel. A 10 mm gap is indicated between the actuator and the valve bonnet. Connection points are labeled 'a', 'b', 'c', with internal sub-points 'a1', 'a2', 'a3' for precise alignment.
Step A3: Electrical Connections
Description: Depicts electrical wiring. The actuator requires either 24 Vac or 230 Vac power. Connection points are labeled 'a', 'b', 'c'. A gap of 4 to 5 mm is shown for wiring access and secure connections.
Step A4a: Wiring Diagram (24 V Models)
Description: Wiring diagram for ML6420A3007 and ML6420A3023 (24 V models). Connections are shown for 24 Vac power (terminals 1 and 2), and control signals (terminals 4 and 5).
- Terminal 1: 24 Vac Power Input
- Terminal 2: 24 Vac Power Input
- Terminal 4: Control Signal Input
- Terminal 5: Control Signal Input
Step A4b: Wiring Diagram (230 V Models)
Description: Wiring diagram for ML6420A3015 and ML6420A3031 (230 V models). Connections are shown for 230 Vac power (terminals L and N), and control signals (terminals 4 and 5).
- Terminal L: 230 Vac Power Input (Live)
- Terminal N: 230 Vac Power Input (Neutral)
- Terminal 4: Control Signal Input
- Terminal 5: Control Signal Input
Step A4c: Wiring Diagram (0/2...10 V Control)
Description: Wiring diagram for ML7420A6009 and ML7420A6017 (0/2...10 V control signal models). Shows connections for W1, W2, W3 (for signal selection and configuration), Y (position feedback signal), 24 Vac power (terminals 1 and 2), and control signals (terminals 4 and 5).
- W1, W2, W3: Configuration and signal selection terminals.
- Y: Position feedback signal output.
- Terminal 1: 24 Vac Power Input
- Terminal 2: 24 Vac Power Input
- Terminal 4: Control Signal Input
- Terminal 5: Control Signal Input
Step A5a, A5b, A5c: Setting Actuator Stroke/Position
Description: Diagrams illustrating how to set the actuator's stroke or position based on control signal inputs (e.g., 0/2...10 V or 2...10 V). These steps involve adjusting settings related to W1, W2, W3 and observing the output position (Y). Percentage indicators (0%, 50%, 100%) are used to show stroke positions.
Step A6: Manual Operation Activation
Description: Shows how to manually operate the actuator stem, typically by engaging a manual mode. This can be done with 24 Vac or 230 Vac power applied. The manual override allows setting the position to 0%, 50%, or 100% (corresponding to 2 V or 10 V signal equivalents).
Manual Operation
Description: Illustrates the manual override mechanism for the actuator. The diagrams show how to engage the manual mode and adjust the actuator stem position using a dial or lever, typically indicated by arrows and position indicators.
Dismounting
The following steps detail the dismounting process.
Step C1: Dismounting Actuator from Valve
Description: Shows the process of removing the actuator from the valve. It involves disengaging the manual override and then detaching the actuator. Percentage indicators (0%, 50%, 100%) are shown, likely related to the actuator's position during removal.
Step C2: Dismounting Sequence
Description: Depicts the sequence for dismounting, referencing previous installation steps in reverse order: A3, A4, A2, A1.
