Honeywell Home ML6420A30xx/ML7420A60xx Electric Linear Valve Actuators
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
This document provides installation instructions for the Honeywell Home ML6420A and ML7420A series electric linear valve actuators.
The following models are covered:
- ML6420A3007
- ML6420A3015
- ML6420A3023
- ML6420A3031
- ML7420A6009
- ML7420A6017
The following languages are supported for mounting instructions:
- DE: Montageanweisung
- FR: Instructions d'installation
- IT: Istruzioni di montaggio
- NL: Installatievoorschrift
- DK: Installasjonsinstruktus
- N: Installationsinstruktioner
- FIN: Asennusohje

- E: Instrucciones de montaje
General Mounting Requirements
Ensure a minimum clearance of 80 mm (≥80 mm) around the actuator for proper installation and operation. A minimum distance of 100 mm (≥100 mm) is recommended from the valve body.
Installation Steps (A1-A6)
A1: Actuator Mounting
Mount the actuator onto the valve. Ensure the actuator is positioned correctly relative to the valve stem. The diagram shows the actuator body being attached to the valve mechanism.
A2: Linkage Connection
Connect the actuator linkage arm (a) to the actuator stem (b). Secure the connection using the provided pin (a1, a2, a3). The diagram indicates a 10 mm stroke adjustment capability.
A3: Electrical Connections
Prepare the wires for electrical connection. The recommended wire stripping length is 4 to 5 mm (4...5 mm). Ensure power sources (24 Vac or 230 Vac) are correctly identified.
A4a: Wiring for ML6420A3007, A3023 (24 V)
For 24 Vac models (ML6420A3007, A3023), connect the 24 Vac power supply to terminals 1 and 2. Connect the control signal to terminals 4 and 5.
A4b: Wiring for ML6420A3015, A3031 (230 V)
For 230 Vac models (ML6420A3015, A3031), connect the 230 Vac power supply to terminals N (Neutral) and L (Live). Connect the control signal to terminals 4 and 5.
A4c: Wiring for ML7420A6009, A6017 (0/2...10 V)
For models ML7420A6009 and A6017 with 0/2...10 V control signals, connect the 24 Vac power supply to terminals 1 and 2. The control signal is connected via terminals W1, W2, and W3, supporting different signal ranges (0...10 V, 2...10 V).
A5a, A5b, A5c: Control Signal Configurations (0/2...10 V)
These sections detail various control signal configurations for the ML7420A6009 and A6017 models using terminals W1, W2, and W3. The 'POSITION' is controlled by the 'Y' signal, which can be set to 0(2)...10 V or 2...10 V. The diagrams illustrate how to achieve different stroke percentages (0%, 50%, 100%) based on the input voltage signals and terminal assignments.
A6: Final Assembly
After completing the wiring and ensuring all connections are secure, attach the actuator cover. The diagram shows the cover being placed over the actuator body.
Manual Operation (B)
The actuator can be operated manually. The diagram illustrates using a lever or buttons to adjust the actuator's position, indicated by percentage stroke (0%, 50%, 100%).
Dismounting (C1-C2)
To dismount the actuator:
- C1: Release the linkage mechanism connecting the actuator to the valve.
- C2: Detach the actuator from the valve. The diagrams show the sequence of dismounting steps, referencing the installation steps (A3, A4, A2, A1) in reverse order.
The following languages are supported for dismounting instructions:
- D: Ausbau
- F: Démontage
- I: Smontaggio
- NL: Demontage
- DK: Afmontere
- N: Demontere
- FIN: Purkaminen
- S: Nedmontera
- E: Desmontaje
