This manual provides instructions for the De'Longhi ECAM45.76X automatic coffee and cappuccino maker.
1. Important Safeguards
Basic safety precautions:
- Read all instructions carefully.
- Ensure voltage matches the machine's rating.
- Do not touch hot surfaces.
- Do not immerse cord, plug, or appliance in water or other liquid.
- Keep out of reach of children; do not leave unattended while operating.
- Unplug when not in use and before cleaning.
- Do not operate with damaged cord/plug or after malfunction. Return for repair.
- Use only manufacturer-recommended accessories.
- Do not use outdoors.
- Ensure power cord does not hang over edges.
- Do not place near hot surfaces or burners.
- Plug into wall outlet; disconnect by turning off then removing plug.
- Use only for intended domestic use.
- WARNING: Do not remove covers; do not attempt repairs yourself.
1.1 Short Cord Instructions
A short power cord reduces entanglement risks. Longer cords are available but require careful use. Ensure extension cords match the appliance's electrical rating and are grounding type if applicable. The plug is polarized for safety; do not defeat this feature.

4. Before Use
4.1 Checking the Appliance
After unpacking, ensure the product is complete and undamaged. Contact De'Longhi Customer Services if damaged.
4.2 Installing the Appliance
Important! Ensure adequate ventilation (3 cm sides, 15 cm top). Avoid water damage near taps/sinks. Protect from freezing temperatures. Arrange power cord safely.
4.3 Connecting the Appliance
Important! Verify mains voltage. Connect to an earthed socket with at least 10A rating. If the plug doesn't fit, consult a qualified electrician.
4.4 Setting up the Appliance
Please note! Traces of coffee are normal from factory testing. The appliance defaults to ENGLISH language. Customize water hardness as soon as possible.
- Connect to power, ensure main switch (A19) is pressed.
- Fill water tank (A16) to MAX line.
- Follow display prompts: Insert hot water spout (C6), place container, press OK to dispense water.
Please note! Allow 4-5 cups/cappuccinos for optimal results. Initial noise is normal. Consider installing a water softener filter (C4).
5. Turning the Appliance On
Please note! Ensure main switch (A19) is pressed. The appliance performs an automatic preheat and rinse cycle.
Danger of burns! Hot water may dispense from spouts during rinsing.
Press the power button (B1). The display shows "Heating up, Please wait", then "RINSING". The appliance is ready when the taste/quantity message appears.
6. Turning the Appliance Off
The machine performs an automatic rinse cycle after use.
Danger of burns! Hot water may dispense from spouts during rinsing.
Press the power button (B1). The display shows "Turning off underway". The appliance rinses and goes to standby.
Please note! For long periods of non-use, unplug the appliance after turning it off via the button and main switch (A19).
Important! Never press the main switch while the appliance is on.
7. Menu Settings
7.1 Rinsing
Use to dispense hot water for cleaning and heating internal circuits. Place a container (min. 100ml) under the spout.
To enable: Press MENU/ESC (B14) -> select "Rinsing" -> press OK. Confirm. Display shows "RINSING Please wait". Hot water dispenses. Press any button to stop.
Please note! Recommend 2-3 rinses after 3-4 days of non-use. Grounds container may contain water after cleaning.
7.2 Descaling
Refer to section "12. Descaling".
7.3 Install Filter
Refer to section "14. Water Softener Filter".
7.4 Replacing the Water Softener Filter
Refer to section "14.2 Replacing the filter".
7.5 Adjust Time
To adjust the time: Press MENU/ESC (B14) -> select "Adjust time" -> press OK. Set hours, confirm. Set minutes, confirm. Time is set.
7.6 Auto-start
Set a time for the appliance to be ready. Time must be set correctly.
To enable: Press MENU/ESC (B14) -> select "Auto-start" -> press OK. Confirm. Set hour, confirm. Set minutes, confirm. Auto-start is indicated by a symbol.
To disable: Select "Auto-start" -> press OK. Confirm "Disable?". The symbol disappears.
7.7 Auto-off (Standby)
Set appliance to turn off after 15/30 mins, or 1/2/3 hours.
To program: Press MENU/ESC (B14) -> select "Auto-start" (Note: This seems to be a typo in the original manual, likely meant "Auto-off") -> press OK. Select time -> press OK to confirm.
7.8 Cup Warmer
Enable/disable cup warmer.
To set: Press MENU/ESC (B14) -> select "Cup warmer" -> press OK. Enable/disable -> press OK. Exit menu.
7.9 Energy Saving
Enable/disable energy saving mode to reduce consumption.
To set: Press MENU/ESC (B14) -> select "Energy Saving" -> press OK. Disable/enable -> press OK. Exit menu.
Please note! Energy saving mode may cause a slight delay before dispensing. Press any button to exit energy saving mode before making a drink. Energy saving is not active if the milk container is inserted.
7.10 Setting the Temperature
To adjust water temperature: Press MENU/ESC (B14) -> select "Set temperature" -> press OK. Select temperature level (low to maximum) -> press OK to confirm.
7.11 Setting Water Hardness
Refer to section "13.2 Setting water hardness".
7.12 Setting the Language
To change display language: Press MENU/ESC (B14) -> select "Set language" -> press OK. Select language -> press OK to confirm. Confirmation message appears. Exit menu.
7.13 Beep
Enable/disable button beeps.
To set: Press MENU/ESC (B14) -> select "Beep" -> press OK. Disable/enable -> press OK. Exit menu.
7.14 Default Values (Reset)
Resets all settings to default, except language.
To reset: Press MENU/ESC (B14) -> select "Default values" -> press OK. Confirm -> press OK to exit.
7.15 Statistics Function
Displays machine statistics (coffee count, milk drinks, water usage, descaling count, filter replacements).
To display: Press MENU/ESC (B14) -> select "Statistics" -> press OK. Use < or > to view data. Exit menu.
8. Making Coffee
8.1 Selecting the Coffee Taste
Default is "Standard taste". Options: Extra mild, Mild, Standard, Strong, Extra-strong. Press button B2 repeatedly to cycle through tastes.
8.2 Selecting the Quantity of Coffee in the Cup
Default is "Standard quantity". Press button B15 to select:

8.3 Customising the "My Coffee" Quantity
Default is 30ml. To modify:
- Place cup under spouts (A7).
- Press B15 until "MY COFFEE" is displayed.
- Press and hold B11 until "1 MY COFFEE Program quantity" is displayed. Release B11.
- When desired level is reached, press B11 again. Quantity is programmed.
8.4 Adjusting the Coffee Mill
The mill is factory set. If coffee is too weak/slow, adjust grinding dial (A5) while the mill is operating. Turn clockwise towards "7" for finer grind (faster delivery), anticlockwise towards "1" for coarser grind (slower delivery). Effect visible after 2 coffees. Do not turn more than one click at a time.
Please note! Adjust dial only when mill is operating.
8.5 Tips for a Hotter Coffee
- Perform a rinse cycle (7.1).
- Warm cups with hot water (10.1).
- Set a hotter coffee temperature (7.10).
8.6 Making Coffee Using Coffee Beans
Important! Do not use caramelised or candied beans.
- Fill beans container (A3).
- Place cup(s) under spouts (A7).
- Lower spouts close to the cup.
- Press the relevant cup button (B11 for 1 cup, B10 for 2 cups).
- Preparation starts, progress bar shown.
Please note! Machine may be interrupted by pressing any button. Increase quantity by pressing coffee button within 3 seconds of end of delivery. Various alarm messages may appear (see section 16).
8.7 Making Coffee Using Pre-ground Coffee
Important! Never add pre-ground coffee when the machine is off. Use only one level measure (C2).
Please note! Only one cup at a time with pre-ground coffee.
- Press B2 until "Pre-ground" is displayed.
- Open pre-ground coffee funnel lid (A2).
- Add one level measure of pre-ground coffee (fig. 18).
- Place cup under spouts.
- Press 1 cup button (B11).
- Preparation starts, progress bar shown.
Please note! Energy saving mode may cause a delay.
8.8 Making LONG Coffee Using Coffee Beans
Follow steps for making coffee with beans (8.6), then press LONG button (B9). Display shows "LONG COFFEE FUNCTION". Progress bar shown.
8.9 Making LONG Coffee Using Pre-ground Coffee
Follow steps for pre-ground coffee (8.7), then press LONG button (B9). Display shows "LONG COFFEE FUNCTION". When prompted ("ADD PRE-GROUND COFFEE, Press OK"), add another level measure and press OK.
8.10 Customising the LONG Coffee Quantity
Default is approx. 6.09 fl.oz/180ml. To modify:
- Place cup under spouts (A7).
- Press and hold LONG button (B9) until "Program quantity" is displayed. Release B9.
- Appliance delivers coffee. When desired level is reached, press B9 again. Quantity is programmed.
Please note! If using pre-ground coffee, you may be prompted to add a second measure.
9. Making Cappuccinos and Milk-Based Coffees
Please note! Clean milk container lid (D2) and nozzle (A8) regularly.
9.1 Filling and Attaching the Milk Container
- Remove lid (D2).
- Fill milk container (D3) to MAX line with milk.
- Please note! Use skimmed or semi-skimmed milk at refrigerator temperature (approx. 5°C) for best froth. Energy saving may cause a delay.
- Ensure milk intake tube (D4) is correctly inserted in lid.
- Replace lid.
- Extract cappuccino maker/spout (C6) by pressing release button (C7).
- Attach milk container to nozzle (A8). Machine beeps if enabled.
- Place cup under spouts (A7, D5). Adjust milk spout length.
- Follow instructions for each function.
9.2 Adjusting the Amount of Froth
Turn froth adjustment dial (D1) on the milk container lid to adjust froth level for different drinks (No froth for Caffelatte/Milk, Min. froth for Latte Macchiato/Flat White, Max. froth for Cappuccino/Espresso Macchiato).
9.3 Making Cappuccinos and Milk-Based Coffees Automatically
Use buttons B3, B4, B5.
- Fill and attach milk container (D).
- Set froth adjustment dial (D1) for desired froth.
- Press the relevant drink button. Display shows drink name and progress bar.
- Milk dispenses, followed by coffee (if applicable).
9.4 Preparing "MILK MENU" Drinks
Appliance prepares MILK, FLAT WHITE, ESPRESSO MACCHIATO, MY MILK.
- Fill and attach milk container (D).
- Set froth adjustment dial (D1).
- Press MILK MENU button (B6).
- Press < or > to select desired drink (MILK, FLAT WHITE, ESPRESSO MACCHIATO, MY MILK).
- Press OK to start delivery. Milk dispenses, then coffee.
Please note: general indications: Interrupt by pressing button. Increase quantity by pressing and holding button within 3 seconds of delivery end. Do not leave milk container out of fridge for long periods.
9.5 Cleaning the Milk Container After Every Use
Important! Danger of burns
"SET DIAL TO CLEAN" flashes. To clean:
- Leave milk container in machine.
- Place cup under frothed milk spout (D5).
- Turn froth adjustment dial (D1) to "CLEAN". Progress bar shown. Cleaning stops automatically.
Please note! Clean milk container only after preparing the last milk drink. Container can be kept in fridge. Cleaning may require appliance to heat up.
9.6 Programming Quantity for Cappuccino, Caffelatte, Latte Macchiato
Default quantities are standard. To change:
- Place cup under spouts (A7, D5).
- Press and hold a drink button until "PROGRAM MILK" is displayed. Release button. Milk dispenses.
- When desired milk quantity is reached, press button again.
- Appliance stops milk delivery. If needed, coffee dispenses. Display shows "PROGRAM COFFEE".
- When desired coffee quantity is reached, press button again. Coffee delivery stops. Machine is reprogrammed.
9.7 Programming Quantity for MILK MENU Drinks
Default quantities are standard. To change:
- Press MILK MENU button (B6).
- Press < or > to select desired drink.
- Press and hold OK button (B12) until "PROGRAM MILK" is displayed. Release button. Milk dispenses.
- When desired milk quantity is reached, press OK button.
- Appliance stops milk delivery. If needed, coffee dispenses. Display shows "PROGRAM COFFEE".
- When desired coffee quantity is reached, press OK button. Coffee delivery stops. Machine is reprogrammed.
10. Delivering Hot Water and Steam
Important! Danger of burns Do not leave unattended. Spout (C6) gets hot.
Please note! Energy saving may cause a delay.
10.1 Hot Water
- Ensure cappuccino maker/hot water spout (C6) is attached.
- Place cup under spout.
- Press button (B7). Display shows "HOT WATER" and progress bar.
- Machine dispenses approx. 250ml hot water. Press B7 again to interrupt.
10.2 Changing Quantity of Water Delivered Automatically
Default is 250ml. To modify:
- Place cup under spout (C6).
- Press and hold button (B7) until "HOT WATER Program quantity" is displayed. Release button.
- When desired water level is reached, press B7 again. Quantity is reprogrammed.
10.3 Steam Delivery
Ensure spout (C6) is attached. Immerse spout in liquid to be heated/frothed.
- Press button (B8). Steam emerges from spout. Display shows "STEAM".
- When desired temperature is reached, press B8 again to stop steam. (Do not discharge steam for more than 3 minutes at a time).
Important! Stop steam delivery before removing container to avoid burns.
10.4 Tips for Using Steam to Froth Milk
- Consider container size; liquid doubles or triples in volume.
- Use skimmed or semi-skimmed milk at refrigerator temperature (approx. 5°C) for richer froth.
- Rotate container with slow upward movements for creamier froth.
- Clean spout as described below to avoid poor froth.
10.5 Cleaning the Spout After Use
Clean cappuccino maker/hot water spout (C6) after each use to prevent clogging.
- Place container under spout. Press B7 for a little water, then press B7 again to stop.
- Wait for spout to cool. Press release button (C7) to remove spout. Turn anticlockwise and pull downwards. Remove steam nozzle by pulling downwards.
- Check hole in spout (fig. 30) is not blocked; clean with a pin if necessary.
- Wash all parts with sponge and warm water.
- Reinsert nozzle and spout, pushing upwards and turning until attached.
11. Cleaning
11.1 Cleaning the Machine
Regularly clean:
- Internal circuit
- Coffee grounds container (A10)
- Drip tray (A12) and condensate tray (A9)
- Water tank (A16)
- Coffee spouts (A7)
- Pre-ground coffee funnel (A4)
- Infuser (A15)
- Milk container (D)
- Cappuccino maker/hot water spout (C6)
- Hot water/steam connection nozzle (A8)
- Display (B)
Important! Do not use solvents, abrasive detergents, or alcohol. Only the milk container (D) is dishwasher safe. Do not use metal objects for cleaning.
11.2 Cleaning the Machine's Internal Circuit
If not used for 3-4 days, perform 2-3 rinse cycles (7.1) and dispense hot water briefly (B7).
Please note! Grounds container may contain water after cleaning.
11.3 Cleaning the Coffee Grounds Container
Empty when "EMPTY GROUNDS CONTAINER" message appears. Machine cannot be used until cleaned. Message appears after 72 hours even if not full. Ensure machine is not turned off via main switch (A19) within this period.
Important! Danger of burns Cup tray (A11) becomes hot.
To clean (machine on): Remove drip tray (A12), empty and clean. Empty grounds container (A10) thoroughly using brush (C5). Check and empty condensate tray (A9).
Important! Always empty grounds container when removing drip tray, even if it contains few grounds.
11.4 Cleaning the Drip Tray and Condensate Tray
Important! Drip tray (A12) has a level indicator (A13). Empty before indicator shows. Overflow can cause damage.
To remove drip tray: Remove drip tray and grounds container (fig. 31). Empty and wash them. Check and empty condensate tray (A9). Replace drip tray and grounds container.
11.5 Cleaning the Inside of the Coffee Machine
Danger of electric shock! Turn off and unplug the machine before cleaning internal parts. Never immerse in water.
- Check inside of appliance (accessible after removing drip tray A12) weekly. Remove coffee deposits with brush (C5) and sponge.
- Remove residues with a vacuum cleaner (fig. 34).
11.6 Cleaning the Water Tank
Clean water tank (A16) monthly or when replacing filter (C4). Use a damp cloth and mild washing-up liquid. Rinse filter (if present) with running water. Refill tank with fresh water. For models with filter, dispense approx. 100ml water.
11.7 Cleaning the Coffee Spouts
Clean spouts (A7) regularly with a sponge or cloth (fig. 35). Check holes are not blocked; use a toothpick if necessary.
11.8 Cleaning the Pre-ground Coffee Funnel
Check funnel (A4) regularly for blockages. Remove deposits with brush (C5).
11.9 Cleaning the Infuser
Clean infuser (A15) at least monthly. Important! Machine must be off.
- Ensure machine is off.
- Remove water tank (A16).
- Open infuser door (A14).
- Press release buttons and pull infuser outwards (fig. 37).
- Soak infuser in water for 5 minutes, rinse under tap. Important! RINSE WITH WATER ONLY. NO WASHING UP LIQUID - NO DISHWASHER.
- Use brush (C5) to clean infuser housing.
- Reinsert infuser, sliding onto support (fig. 38), push until it clicks.
- Ensure buttons have snapped out (fig. 40).
- Close infuser door.
- Replace water tank.
Please note! If infuser is difficult to insert, adapt size by pressing levers (fig. 39).
11.10 Cleaning the Milk Container
Clean milk container (D) every two days for frother efficiency.
- Remove lid (D2).
- Remove milk spout (D5) and intake tube (D4).
- Turn froth regulator (D1) to "INSERT" position (fig. 41) and pull off.
- Wash components with hot water and mild washing-up liquid. Dishwasher safe (top basket). Ensure no milk residues in groove under dial (fig. 42).
- Rinse froth adjustment dial seat with running water (fig. 43).
- Check intake tube and spout for milk residue blockages.
- Replace dial, spout, and intake tube.
- Replace lid on milk container.
11.11 Cleaning the Hot Water/Steam Connection Nozzle
Clean nozzle (A8) with a sponge after preparing milk to remove residues.
12. Descaling
Descale when "DESCALE" message flashes on display (B13).
Important! Read descaler pack instructions. Use only De'Longhi descaler.
- Turn appliance on.
- Press MENU/ESC (B14) -> select "Descale" -> press OK. Confirm "Descale Confirm?".
- Press OK again. Display shows prompts: "EMPTY DRIP TRAY", "REMOVE FILTER", "Add descaler Press OK".
- Empty water tank (A16), remove filter (C4) if present. Empty drip tray (A12) and grounds container (A10).
- Pour descaler into tank up to level A, add water up to level B (fig. 44). Replace tank.
- Place empty container (min. 2 litres) under spouts (A7, C6) (fig. 45).
- Press OK to confirm descaler addition. "Descale underway" is displayed. Descaling procedure begins.
- After approx. 25 mins, descaling stops. Messages "RINSING" and "FILL TANK" alternate.
- Empty used container. Rinse water tank, fill with fresh water to MAX, replace. "RINSING, Press OK" displayed.
- Place empty container under spouts. Press OK to start rinsing. Hot water flows. "RINSING Please wait" displayed.
- When water tank is empty, messages "RINSING", "FILL TANK", "REPLACE FILTER" alternate. Empty rinsing water container.
- Remove tank, replace filter (if removed), fill with fresh water to MAX, replace tank. "RINSING Press OK" displayed.
- Place empty container under hot water spout. Press OK to resume rinsing.
- When finished, "Rinsing complete, Press OK" displayed. Press OK. "FILL TANK" displayed.
- Empty drip tray, top up water tank with fresh water. Descaling complete.
Please note! If descaling is interrupted, repeat. Grounds container may contain water after descaling.
13. Setting Water Hardness
DESCALE message appears based on water hardness. Default is 4. Machine can be programmed for regional water hardness to reduce descaling frequency.
13.1 Measuring Water Hardness
- Use "TOTAL HARDNESS TEST" paper (C1).
- Immerse paper in water for 1 second.
- Shake lightly. After a minute, 1-4 red squares form, indicating hardness level.

13.2 Setting Water Hardness
- Press MENU/ESC (B14) -> select "Water hardness" -> press OK.
- Press < or > to set level based on indicator paper.
- Press OK to confirm. Exit menu.
14. Water Softener Filter
Some models include filter (C4). Purchase from De'Longhi Customer Services if not included.
14.1 Installing the Filter
- Remove filter (C4) from packaging.
- Turn date indicator disk to show next two months of use.
- Activate filter: run tap water through hole until water exits side openings for over a minute (fig. 47).
- Extract water tank (A16), fill with water.
- Immerse filter in tank for ten seconds, sloping to release air bubbles (fig. 48).
- Insert filter into housing (A17) and push fully.
- Close tank lid (A18), replace tank.
Please note! Filter lasts approx. 2 months with normal use, or 3 weeks if unused.
When installing filter, notify appliance: Press MENU/ESC (B14) -> select "Install filter" -> press OK. Confirm "Install?".
14.2 Replacing the Filter
Replace when "REPLACE FILTER" appears, after two months, or 3 weeks of non-use.
- Extract tank (A16) and exhausted filter.
- Take new filter, proceed as in 14.1 (points 2-7).
- Position container (min. 500ml) under hot water spout (C6).
- Press MENU/ESC (B14) -> select "Replace filter" -> press OK. Confirm?
- Press OK to confirm. "HOT WATER Press OK" displayed.
- Press OK to confirm. Appliance delivers hot water. "Please wait" displayed.
- After water delivery stops, appliance resets to "Ready for coffee". New filter is active.
14.3 Removing the Filter
To use appliance without filter:
- Extract tank (A16) and filter.
- Press MENU/ESC (B14) -> select "Install filter, Enabled" -> press OK.
- "Disable?" appears. Press OK to confirm and exit menu.

FILL TANK: Insufficient water. Fill tank or insert correctly.
EMPTY GROUNDS CONTAINER: Grounds container full. Empty, clean, and replace. Important: always empty container when removing drip tray.
GROUND TOO FINE ADJUST MILL: Grinding too fine. Repeat delivery, turn grind adjustment dial (A5) one click clockwise towards "7" while mill operates. If still slow, adjust again. If problem persists, check water tank insertion, dispense water.
AIR BUBBLE (if filter present): Obstructing delivery. Insert hot cappuccino maker/water spout (C6) and deliver water until flow is regular.
INSERT GROUNDS CONTAINER: Container not replaced after cleaning. Remove drip tray (A12) and insert grounds container.
ADD PRE-GROUND COFFEE: Pre-ground coffee not added for function. Add coffee to funnel or deselect function.
DESCALE: Machine needs descaling. Perform procedure in section 12.
REDUCE COFFEE AMOUNT: Too much coffee used. Select milder taste (B2) or reduce quantity.
FILL BEANS CONTAINER: Beans have run out. Fill container (A3).
CLOGGED FUNNEL: Pre-ground coffee funnel (A4) clogged. Clean with brush (C5).
INSERT INFUSER ASSEMBLY: Infuser not replaced after cleaning. Insert infuser as per section 11.9.
INSERT TANK: Tank (A16) not correctly in place. Insert correctly.
GENERAL ALARM: Appliance interior dirty. Clean as per section 11. If message persists, contact service centre.
EMPTY CIRCUIT FILL CIRCUIT alternating with HOT WATER Press OK: Water circuit empty. Press OK to deliver water until flow is normal. Ensure water tank (A16) is fully inserted.
REPLACE FILTER: Water softener filter (C4) exhausted. Replace or remove as per section 14.
SET DIAL TO CLEAN: Milk delivered. Clean milk container tubes. Turn dial (D1) to CLEAN position (fig. 26).
INSERT WATER SPOUT: Spout (C6) not inserted or inserted incorrectly. Insert spout fully.
INSERT MILK CONTAINER: Container (D) not inserted correctly. Insert container fully (fig. 24).
17. Troubleshooting
Problem: Coffee is not hot.
Possible Cause: Cups not preheated.
Solution: Enable cup warmer (A6) for 20 mins. Rinse cups with hot water.
Possible Cause: Internal circuits cooled down (2-3 mins since last coffee).
Solution: Rinse using "rinse" function (7.1) before making coffee.
Possible Cause: Low coffee temperature setting.
Solution: Set hotter temperature (7.10).
Problem: Coffee is weak or not creamy enough.
Possible Cause: Coffee ground too coarsely.
Solution: Turn grind adjustment dial (A5) one click anticlockwise towards "1" while mill operates. Effect visible after 2 coffees (8.4).
Possible Cause: Coffee is unsuitable.
Solution: Use pre-ground coffee for espresso machines.
Problem: Coffee delivered too slowly or a drop at a time.
Possible Cause: Coffee ground too finely.
Solution: Turn grind adjustment dial (A5) one click clockwise towards "7" while mill operates. Effect visible after 2 coffees (8.4).
Problem: Coffee does not come out of one or both spouts.
Possible Cause: Coffee spouts (A7) are blocked.
Solution: Clean spouts with a toothpick (11.7).
Problem: Appliance does not come on.
Possible Cause: Not plugged into mains socket.
Solution: Plug into mains socket (fig. 1).
Possible Cause: Main switch (A19) not turned on.
Solution: Press main switch (fig. 2).
Problem: Infuser cannot be extracted.
Possible Cause: Appliance not turned off correctly.
Solution: Turn appliance off using button (B1) (6. Turning the Appliance Off).
Problem: Milk does not come out of the milk spout (D5).
Possible Cause: Milk container lid (D2) is dirty.
Solution: Clean lid as per section 11.10.
Problem: Milk contains large bubbles and squirts out, or little froth.
Possible Cause: Milk not cold enough or not semi-skimmed.
Solution: Use skimmed/semi-skimmed milk at refrigerator temperature (approx. 5°C). Try a different milk brand.
Possible Cause: Froth adjustment dial (D1) incorrectly adjusted.
Solution: Adjust as per section 9. Making Cappuccinos and Milk-Based Coffees.
Possible Cause: Milk container lid (D2) or froth adjustment dial (D1) are dirty.
Solution: Clean lid and dial as per section 11.10.
Possible Cause: Hot water/steam connection nozzle (A8) is dirty.
Solution: Clean nozzle as per section 11.11.
Possible Cause: Cappuccino maker/hot water spout (C6) is dirty.
Solution: Clean as per section 10.5.
