Product Overview
This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the assembly, installation, operation, and maintenance of the Crystal Mountain STORM Bottom-Load Water Dispenser.
Features
- Function Lights: Blinking red light indicates a nearly empty bottle. Blinking blue light indicates the SmartFlo™ Water Cartridge needs replacement.
- Cold Water Lever: Depress to dispense cold water. Release to stop.
- Hot Water Lever: Features a child safety feature (red button). Push the red button and depress the lever to dispense hot water. Release to stop.
- Water Outlet: Dispenses both hot and cold water.
- LED Nightlight: Located behind the faucet levers, provides illumination in low-light conditions when a lever is depressed.
- Drip Tray and Cover: Dishwasher safe and removable for easy cleaning. Designed to catch spills.
- Energy Saving Switches: Located in the bottle installation area. Switching off disables the hot water heating function.
- Bottle Adaptor Assembly: Located inside the cabinet, connects to the water bottle to pump water into the reservoirs.
- Water Bottle: Compatible with 3, 4, or 5-gallon water bottles (not included).
- SmartFlo™ Water Cartridge: Designed for quick and easy sanitization of the cold water system. Recommended replacement every 12 months.
Getting Started
Locate Water Dispenser
- Place the water cooler on a flat, level surface in a cool, shaded location near a grounded wall outlet.
- Ensure the back of the unit is at least 4 inches (10 cm) away from the wall for proper ventilation.
Install Water Bottle
- Open the dispenser door (slide upwards).
- Place a fresh bottle outside the cabinet.
- Clean the outside of the new bottle with a cloth.
- Carefully un-package the Bottle Adaptor assembly, avoiding touching the tube.
- Remove the security label/seal from the bottle cap (if applicable). Install the Bottle Adaptor assembly (Spike Cap with tube) through the bottle cap and press down to secure. Do not remove the bottle cap.
- Ensure the tube is close to the bottom of the bottle.
- Remove the red protective cap from the blue tube of the SmartFlo™ Water Cartridge and install it onto the bottle adaptor assembly.
- Slide the bottle into the cabinet and close the door (slide downwards).
- Place a container under the faucet and dispense cold water until a smooth stream is dispensed (may take up to 1 minute).
Activate Heating Functions
- Ensure the water system has been primed.
- Turn on the Energy Saving Switch (red color) located behind the bottle access door.
- To disable the heating function, turn off the Energy Saving Switch.
- Do not draw water for approximately 30 minutes to allow water to heat or cool. Optimum temperatures will be reached after several hours.
Dispensing Water
Cold Water Dispense
The cold water temperature is preset between 39.2-50°F (4 to 10°C). Optimum temperatures are reached after several hours of operation. During this time, the compressor may run continuously, which is normal.
- Position a glass or container below the water outlet.
- Depress the cold water lever downwards to start the flow.
- Release the lever once the desired fill level is achieved.
Hot Water Dispense
The hot water temperature is preset between 168.8-197.6°F (76 to 92°C). Optimum temperatures are reached after 15-20 minutes.
- Position a glass or container below the water outlet.
- Push the red safety button and depress the hot water lever downwards to start the flow.
- Release the lever once the desired fill level is achieved.
CAUTION: This unit dispenses water at temperatures that can cause severe burns. Supervise children and ensure they do not play with the appliance.
Bottle Change
A flashing red light above the cold water lever indicates the water bottle is getting low and needs replacement.
- Open the dispenser door (slide upwards).
- Slide the empty bottle out of the cabinet.
- Place a fresh bottle outside the cabinet.
- Clean the outside of the new bottle with a cloth. Remove the security label/seal from the bottle cap (if applicable).
- Carefully remove the Bottle Adaptor assembly from the empty bottle by raising the end of the tube into the Spike Cap. Avoid touching the tube.
- Install the Spike Cap through the new bottle's cap (do not remove the bottle cap) and press down to secure.
- Push the tube through the Spike Cap until it is close to the bottom of the bottle.
- Slide the bottle into the cabinet and close the door.
- Dispense cold water until a smooth stream is achieved.
Cleaning
- Do not immerse the unit in water.
- External Cleaning: Disconnect the power supply cord. Use only mild dishwashing liquid or cleaning products and a soft cloth for exterior surfaces. Do not use bleach or abrasive cleaners.
- Use a vacuum cleaner to remove dirt and lint from the condenser.
- Clean the unit every 3 months. Temperature selectors can be wiped often with hygienic wipes or mild cleaning products.
- Caution: Do not clean the unit with a water jet device.
- Ensure the Energy Saving Switch is turned off and the power supply cord is disconnected before servicing.
Replacement of SmartFlo™ Water Cartridge
It is recommended to change the SmartFlo™ Water Cartridge every 12 months for optimal water quality.
- Open the dispenser door.
- Slide the empty bottle out of the cabinet.
- Open the replacement SmartFlo™ Water Cartridge kit and take the red plug. Disconnect the water line from the bottle adaptor and attach the red plug to the waterline.
- Place a glass or container under the water outlets and push the cold lever to dispense any remaining water.
- Remove the access key provided in the kit and insert it into the two holes located at the underside of the top edge of the cooler (above water levers), pushing inwards. The front of the top cover will open upwards.
- Unlatch the locking clip near the front of the cooler to release the water tubing.
- Unlock the turn knobs holding the SmartFlo™ Water Cartridge.
- Pull the SmartFlo™ Water Cartridge upwards to remove.
- Discard the used SmartFlo™ Water Cartridge according to local regulations (recycle responsibly).
- Insert the water line of the replacement SmartFlo™ Water Cartridge through the guide tube and push it to the bottle installation area.
- Ensure the seal is properly installed on the outlet tube of the SmartFlo™ Water Cartridge assembly.
- Align the SmartFlo™ Water Cartridge with the openings in the cooler and push into place.
- Rotate the turn knobs to lock the SmartFlo™ Water Cartridge in place.
- Close the locking clip to secure the water outlet tubing.
- Close the top cover of the cooler by pushing downwards.
- Place a fresh bottle outside the cabinet.
- Clean the outside of the new bottle with a cloth. Remove the security label/seal from the bottle cap (if applicable).
- Remove the bottle adaptor assembly from the empty bottle and set aside. Carefully un-package the new Bottle Adaptor assembly, avoiding touching the tube.
- Install the Spike Cap (with the end of the tube in the Spike Cap) without touching the tube.
- Push the tube through the Spike Cap until it is close to the bottom of the bottle.
- Remove the red protective cap from the blue tube of the SmartFlo™ Water Cartridge and install it onto the bottle adaptor assembly.
- Slide the bottle into the cabinet and close the door.
- Depress the Cold and Hot water levers to fill their respective tanks. Water flow from both faucets indicates the tanks are filled.
CAUTION! ALWAYS DRAIN WATER COMPLETELY BEFORE SHIPPING OR STORING THE COOLER!
Troubleshooting
Water Leaks
- At base of unit: Try replacing the water bottle.
- Above bottle or unrelated: Unplug the dispenser, remove the bottle, and contact customer support at +44 (0) 1625 439 111.
Water Not Dispensing
- Ensure Hot/Cold tanks have been primed.
- Ensure the bottle is not empty; replace if necessary.
- Ensure the water selection lever is fully depressed.
- Check that all SmartFlo™ tubing is free of holes, cuts, or cracks.
- Ensure SmartFlo™ locking knobs are securely locked.
Not Cooling (Hot Water – No Concern)
- Optimum cold water temperatures are reached after several hours.
- Ensure the dispenser is at least 4 inches (100mm) from the wall for ventilation.
- If water is still not cold, contact customer support at +44 (0) 1625 439 111.
No Hot Water (Cold Water – No Concern)
- Optimum hot water temperatures are reached after 15-20 minutes.
- Ensure the Energy Saving Switch is turned on.
- If water is still not hot, contact customer support at +44 (0) 1625 439 111.
Dispenser is Noisy
- Ensure the dispenser is on a flat, level surface.
- Ensure the bottle is not empty; replace if necessary.
Safety Precautions
WARNING: Read this entire guide before assembly, installation, and operation. Failure to follow instructions can cause personal injury or property damage. This product dispenses water at very high temperatures.
- Keep ventilation openings clear of obstructions.
- Do not damage the refrigerant circuit.
- Ensure the supply cord is not trapped or damaged when positioning the appliance.
- Do not locate multiple portable socket-outlets or portable power supplies at the rear of the appliance.
- Install indoors on a flat, level surface in a dry place away from direct sunlight. Do not use outdoors.
- This appliance is intended for household and similar applications (e.g., staff kitchens, farm houses, hotels, bed and breakfasts, catering).
- Do not place the dispenser in an enclosed space or cabinet.
- Use only water in the dispenser. Never use other liquids.
- Do not use an extension cord.
- Connect to a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) outlet at all times for shock protection. Use of an extension cord voids warranties.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent.
- Always grasp the plug and pull straight out from the outlet; never pull the power cord.
- Do not immerse the cord, plug, or any part of the dispenser in water or other liquids.
- Children aged 8 and above, and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities may use the appliance if given supervision or instruction on safe use and understanding of hazards. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and maintenance should not be done by children without supervision.
