- ⚠️ Never remove the device casing. Refer servicing to qualified personnel. 3 Getting Started
Always follow the instructions in this section in order.
Charging the Built-in Battery
The portable radio is powered by a built-in rechargeable battery.
Note: The ? icon appears when the battery is low. Please charge the battery as soon as possible.
Connect the Type-C port on the portable radio to the input (5V 2A) using the provided Type-C cable.

Note: Please note that your device contains built-in lithium batteries. The charging capacity of lithium batteries will decrease over time due to their discharge characteristics. To ensure the longevity of your device's battery, it is recommended to charge the built-in lithium battery to about 50% every six months when the device is not in use.
Powering On/Off or Switching to Standby Mode
- Press the to turn on the device. The radio will turn on to the last selected source.
- Press the to switch the device to standby mode. The time will appear on the screen (if set).
Note: If a Bluetooth device is not connected for more than 15 minutes, or if it is connected but not playing, the radio will automatically switch to standby mode. Press and hold the
for three seconds in any mode to turn off the device directly. The device screen will turn off.Adjusting Volume
While listening, turn the knob to adjust the volume.
Adjusting Screen Brightness
You can select different brightness levels or turn off the screen.
- Press the to access the menu.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [Display], then press to confirm.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [Backlight level], then press to confirm.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to adjust the brightness level (High, Medium, Low) on the screen, then press to confirm.
- Press the to exit the menu.
Standby Menu Navigation
When the device is in standby mode, you can access the menu for control options.
- In standby mode, press the to access the menu.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select a menu option, then press to confirm the option or enter a lower menu level.
- [Display]: Adjust backlight, dimming, and timeout settings.
- [Alarm]: Set alarms 1 or 2 and alarm settings.
- [Clock]: Synchronize time, date, and time format.
- [System]: Adjust system settings.
- Repeat step 2 if a sub-option is available.
- Press the to return to the previous menu.
4 Setting the Clock
Note: The device will exit the menu if no button is pressed for 30 seconds.
Automatic Clock Setting
- Press the to access the menu.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [Clock], then press to confirm.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [Set auto/manual], then press to confirm.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [Auto (DAB/RDS)], then press to confirm.
- Press the to return to the previous menu.
When tuned to a DAB/FM RDS station, the device can automatically synchronize the time broadcast by the DAB/FM RDS station (with CT information).
Manual Clock Setting
- Press the to access the menu.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [Clock], then press to confirm.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [Set date&time], then press to confirm.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select the hour, then press to confirm. The minutes will flash.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select the minutes, then press to confirm.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select the month, then press to confirm.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select the day, then press to confirm.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select the year, then press to confirm. The time is now set.
- Press the to return to the previous menu.
Setting Time Format
- Press the to access the menu.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [Clock], then press to confirm.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [Set 12H/24H], then press to confirm.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [12H] or [24H], then press to confirm.
- Press the to return to the previous menu.
Setting Date Format
- Press the to access the menu.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [Clock], then press to confirm.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [Set date format], then press to confirm.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [MM-DD-YYYY], [DD-MM-YYYY], or [YYYY-MM-DD], then press to confirm.
- Press the to return to the previous menu.
Clock Style
- Press the to access the menu.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [Clock], then press to confirm.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [Clock style], then press to confirm.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [Classic analog] or [Normal digital], then press to confirm.
- Press the to return to the previous menu.
5 Setting Alarms
Setting Alarm Time
Note: Ensure the clock is set correctly.
- Press the to access the menu.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [Alarm], then press to confirm.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [Alarm 1 Setup] or [Alarm 2 Setup], then press to confirm.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [Wake up time], then press to confirm. The hour will flash.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select the hour, then press to confirm. The minute will flash.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select the minute, then press to confirm.
- If [Once] is selected as the alarm period, use ◀️/▶️ and to set the alarm date.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [Frequency], then press to confirm; the alarm repetition cycle will flash.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select the cycle (Once, Daily, Weekly, or Weekend mode), then press to confirm.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [Source], then press to confirm. The alarm source will flash.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select (BUZZER, DAB, or FM radio), then press to confirm.
If [DAB] or [FM] is selected as the alarm source (default is BUZZER), the alarm menu will have additional [Source] options. Use ◀️/▶️ and to select the DAB or FM preset radio station number.
- Press the to return to the previous menu.
The corresponding alarm icon ? will appear.
Tip: The device will exit the setting mode after 30 seconds of inactivity. If DAB/FM is selected as the alarm source but no preset station is selected, BUZZER will activate automatically. The alarm will expire after 60 minutes if there is no user interaction.
Activating/Deactivating Alarm Timer
- Press the to access the menu.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [Alarm], then press to confirm.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [Alarm 1] or [Alarm 2], then press to confirm.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [On] or [Off], then press to confirm.
- Press the to return to the previous menu.
If the alarm timer is activated, the ? icon will appear. If the alarm timer is deactivated, the icon will appear.
Snooze
- When the alarm sounds, press the . The alarm will enter snooze mode and ring again after 10 minutes (default setting).
- During the snooze period, press ◀️/▶️ to select a different period (in minutes) for the alarm to ring again. (Options: 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 minutes).
- During the snooze period, press and hold the or for three seconds to cancel the alarm. The alarm will stop.
Stopping Alarms
When the alarm sounds, press the
to pause the alarm sound and enter snooze mode, or press the to stop the alarm sound.The alarm will stop, but the alarm settings will remain.
Setting Sleep Timer
This portable radio can automatically switch to standby mode once the sleep time is set.
- Turn on the device.
- Press the to select the sleep time. Press repeatedly to select a different sleep time (15, 30, 45, 60, 90, 120 minutes, or Off).
To deactivate the sleep timer: Repeat the previous steps and set the sleep timer to Off.
6 Listening to DAB Radio
Note: Keep the portable radio away from other electronic devices to avoid radio interference. For optimal reception, pull out the DAB/FM antenna completely and adjust its position.
Selecting DAB Radio Stations
When you select DAB radio mode for the first time, or if the station list is empty, the radio will perform a full scan.
- Turn on the device.
- Press the to select DAB mode. [Scanning...] will be displayed. The radio will automatically scan all DAB stations and play the first available one. The list of stations will appear. The next time you turn on the radio, a new scan will not be performed.
- Once all stations are found, press ◀️/▶️ to browse the found stations, then press to confirm.
- To rescan, press for three seconds.
- Press the ◀️/▶️ to select [Yes] (to activate full scan) or [No], then press to confirm. to access the DAB menu, then press to enter [Full scan]. Turn the rotary knob or press
Manual Tuning
In addition to automatic scanning, you can manually tune the receiver. This can help when adjusting the antenna or adding stations missed during automatic tuning.
- Press the to enter the DAB menu.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [Manual tune], then press to confirm.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to cycle through DAB channels (labeled 5A to 13F), then press to confirm. The device will display the frequency and begin scanning.
- Press the to exit the menu.
Storing DAB Radio Stations
Note: You can manually store up to 20 DAB radio stations.
- In DAB mode, tune to the desired DAB radio station.
- Press and hold the number button (1 or 2) for three seconds to directly save the current station to the corresponding preset position. [Preset 1 or 2 stored] will be displayed. The station is now stored in the desired position.
- In DAB mode, press 1 or 2 to directly select the preset radio station (1 or 2).
Storing and Selecting Favorite Stations
Note: You can store favorite stations on the direct buttons 1 or 2.
- In DAB mode, tune to the desired DAB radio station.
- Press and hold buttons 1 or 2 for three seconds to directly save the current station to the corresponding position. [Preset 1 or 2 stored] will be displayed. The station is stored in the desired position.
- In DAB mode, press 1 or 2 to directly select the preset radio station (1 or 2).
Selecting Preset Radio Station
- In DAB mode, press the .
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select the preset radio station.
Note: After three seconds, the preset radio station will be confirmed automatically.
Removing Faulty Stations
- Press the to enter the DAB menu.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [Prune], then press to confirm.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [Yes] (to remove all faulty stations from the list) or [No], then press to confirm.
- Press the to exit the menu.
DRC (Dynamic Range Control)
DRC compresses the dynamic range of the radio signal, increasing the volume of quiet sounds and decreasing the volume of loud sounds.
- Press the to enter the DAB menu.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [DRC level], then press to confirm.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [High], [Low], or [Off], then press to confirm.
- Press the to exit the menu.
Displaying DAB Information
While listening to DAB radio, press and hold for three seconds to display the following information (if available):
- DAB or DAB+
- Station name
- Scrolling text
- Program type (e.g., [NEWS], [SPORT], [POP M])
- Multiplex name
- Channel
- Frequency
- Mode: Transfer rate
- Mode: Channel type
- Signal quality
DAB Menu Navigation
When listening to DAB, you can access the menu for control options.
- Press the to enter the DAB menu.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select a menu option, then press to confirm the option or enter a lower menu level.
- [Full scan]: Scan and store all available DAB radio stations.
- [Manual tune]: Manually tune to a specific channel/frequency and add it to the station list.
- [Prune]: Remove faulty stations from the list.
- [DRC level]: Adjusts dynamic range compression.
- [Kitchen timer]: Set the kitchen timer.
- [Sleep timer]: Set the sleep timer.
- [Display]: Adjust backlight, dimming, and timeout settings.
- [Alarm]: Activate/deactivate alarms and set alarm parameters.
- [Clock]: Synchronize time, date, and set time/date formats.
- [System]: Adjust system settings.
- Repeat step 2 if a sub-option is available.
- Press the to return to the previous menu.
Note: The device will exit the menu if no button is pressed for 30 seconds.
7 Listening to FM Radio
Note: Keep the portable radio away from other electronic devices to avoid radio interference. For optimal reception, pull out the DAB/FM antenna completely and adjust its position.
Auto Tuning
- Press the to turn on the device.
- Press the to select FM mode.
- Press and hold ◀️/▶️ for 3 seconds. The portable radio will automatically tune to stations with a strong signal.
Manual Tuning
Press ◀️/▶️ to select the frequency to manually tune the station.
Note: The portable radio's tuning step is 50 KHz. The radio frequency on the screen will increase by 0.05 MHz with each press of ◀️/▶️.
Automatic Scan and Store FM Stations
Note: You can store a maximum of 20 FM radio stations.
In FM mode, press and hold
for three seconds. [Auto Scanning...] will be displayed. The radio will automatically scan and store all FM stations, then play the first available station.Manual Store FM Radio Stations
- Select an FM radio station in FM mode.
- Press and hold the number button (1 or 2) for three seconds to activate programming mode. The preset list will appear.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select the preset number.
- Press to store the preset station.
- Repeat steps 1 to 4 to store more FM radio stations.
Tip: To remove pre-stored stations, store a new station in its place if the preset number exceeds 20.
Store and Select Favorite Stations
Note: You can store favorite stations on the direct buttons 1 or 2.
- Select an FM radio station in FM mode.
- Press and hold buttons 1 or 2 (preset number) for three seconds to directly save the current station to the corresponding position. [Preset 1 or 2 stored] will be displayed. The preset number and station frequency will be shown on the screen.
- In FM mode, press 1 or 2 to directly select the preset radio station (1 or 2).
Select Preset Radio Station
- In FM mode, press the .
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select the preset radio station.
Note: After three seconds, the preset radio station will be confirmed automatically.
Scan Sensitivity Setting
- Press the to enter FM mode.
- Press to enter [Scan setting].
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [Strong] (for strong signal stations only) or [All] (all stations), then press to confirm.
- Press the to exit the menu.
Displaying RDS Information
RDS (Radio Data System) is a service that allows FM radio stations to display additional information.
- Listen to an FM RDS station.
- Press and hold for three seconds to display the following information (if available):
- Station name
- Program type (e.g., [NEWS], [SPORT], [POP M])
- Time
- Text
- Frequency
FM Menu Navigation
When listening to FM, you can access the menu for control options.
- Press the to enter FM mode.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select a menu option, then press to confirm the option or enter a lower menu level.
- [Scan setting]: Select scan sensitivity (strong signal stations only or all stations).
- [Kitchen timer]: Set the kitchen timer.
- [Sleep timer]: Set the sleep timer.
- [Display]: Adjust backlight, dimming, and timeout settings.
- [Alarm]: Activate/deactivate alarms and set alarm parameters.
- [Clock]: Synchronize time, date, and set time/date formats.
- [System]: Adjust system settings.
- Repeat step 2 if a sub-option is available.
- Press the to return to the previous menu.
Note: The device will exit the menu if no button is pressed for 30 seconds.
8 Listening to Bluetooth® Music
Note: The operational range between devices is approximately 25 meters (in open space). Compatibility with all Bluetooth® devices is not guaranteed. Obstacles between devices may reduce the range. Keep away from other electronic devices to avoid interference. The device will also turn off if your device goes out of the operational range.
Connecting Bluetooth®
- Press the to select Bluetooth mode. [Not Connected] will appear.
- On your Bluetooth device, turn on Bluetooth, search for, and select [Philips TAV2000DB] to start pairing.
If successfully connected:
- You will hear a signal sound.
- [Connected] will appear.
Disconnecting Bluetooth®
- Switching to another source on the device.
- Disabling the function on your Bluetooth® device.
Alternatively, press and hold the
for three seconds to disconnect the Bluetooth connection. If the connection is successfully disconnected, you will hear a signal sound and [Pairing] will appear.Pairing Bluetooth® Devices
- Press the to access the Bluetooth menu.
- Press to select [Bluetooth pair].
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [Yes] (to disconnect the Bluetooth connection and enter pairing mode), then press to confirm.
Clearing Bluetooth® Pairing Memory
- Press the to access the Bluetooth menu.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [Bluetooth clean], then press to confirm.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [Yes] to disconnect the current connection or [No] to keep the connection, then press to confirm.
- Press the to exit the menu. [Pairing] will appear.
Playing Music
When playing music on your Bluetooth® device, you can use this device to control music playback.
- Press to pause/resume playback.
- Press ◀️/▶️ to skip to the next or previous track.
- Turn the knob to adjust the volume.
Bluetooth Menu Navigation
When listening via Bluetooth®, you can access the menu for control options.
- Press the to access the Bluetooth menu.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select a menu option, then press to confirm the option or enter a lower menu level.
- [Bluetooth pair]: Select to disconnect the Bluetooth connection and enter pairing mode.
- [Bluetooth clean]: Clear Bluetooth pairing records.
- [Kitchen timer]: Set the kitchen timer.
- [Sleep timer]: Set the sleep timer.
- [Display]: Adjust backlight, dimming, and timeout settings.
- [Alarm]: Activate/deactivate alarms and set alarm parameters.
- [Clock]: Synchronize time, date, and set time/date formats.
- [System]: Adjust system settings.
- Repeat step 2 if a sub-option is available.
- Press the to return to the previous menu.
Note: The device will exit the menu if no button is pressed for 30 seconds.
9 Setting Kitchen Timer
Note: The device will exit the menu if it is in standby mode for more than 30 seconds.
Setting Kitchen Timer
- Press the to turn on the device.
- Press the to access the menu.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [Kitchen timer], then press to confirm.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [Kitchen timer setup], then press to confirm.
Alternatively, you can enter the kitchen timer by pressing and holding the button.
The hour digits will start flashing.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select the hour, then press to confirm. The minute digits will start flashing.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select the minute, then press to confirm. The second digits will start flashing.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select the second, then press to confirm.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [On/Off], then press to confirm.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [On] (activate) or [Off] (deactivate), then press to confirm.
- Press the to return to the previous menu.
The kitchen timer icon ⏰ will appear.
Note: The kitchen timer will turn off after 60 minutes if there is no user interaction.
Stopping Kitchen Timer Sound
When the kitchen timer sounds, press any button to stop the buzzer.
Resetting Kitchen Timer
- To reset the kitchen timer, press the to access the menu.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [Kitchen timer], then press to confirm.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [On/Off], then press to confirm.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [Off], then press to confirm.
- Press the to exit the menu.
Note: The kitchen timer can only be reset when the device is on.

Selecting Menu Language
- Press the to access the menu.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [System], then press to confirm.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [Language], then press to confirm.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select the menu language, then press to confirm. Available languages include English, Deutsch, Italiano, Français, Norsk, Dansk, Nederlands, Svenska, Español, Suomi, Polski.
- Press the to return to the previous menu.
Listening via Headphones
Plug headphones into the jack on the back of the device.
Factory Reset
- Press the to access the menu.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [System], then press to confirm.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [Factory reset], then press to confirm.
- Turn the rotary knob or press ◀️/▶️ to select [Yes] (to restore all radio settings to factory defaults), then press to confirm. [Restarting...] will be shown on the screen.

No Power
- Ensure the portable radio is fully charged.
- Ensure the USB socket on the portable radio is properly connected.
No Sound
- Adjust the volume on the portable radio.
- Adjust the volume on the connected device.
- Check if your Bluetooth device is within the operational range.

- Restart the portable radio.

- Fully extend and position the antenna.

- Set the clock/alarm correctly.

- Press and hold the for three seconds to enter Bluetooth pairing mode, then try again.
Cannot Establish Connection with Bluetooth Device
- Bluetooth function is not enabled on the device. Refer to the user manual of that device to learn how to activate this function.
- The portable radio is not in pairing mode.
- The portable radio is already connected to another Bluetooth device.
- Turn off and try again.
Battery Not Charging Properly or Draining Too Quickly
- Replace the batteries.
- Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the device and remove the original battery.
- Insert a battery of the same type (not included in the package).
- Replace the battery compartment cover.
